“We drove out to Long Island to meet our friends for lunch in Woodmere. We ordered several dishes and shared all. We also had a couple of mixed drinks. Food and drinks were delicious and the service was excellent. Very friendly and efficient

Danny worked with us to create a menu that was tailored to us and our guests and we got SO much food included in the package we did. He also worked with us to create table arrangements that worked best for our event. I was worried at first that the space only being partially private and not a true private room would be an issue but it was not at all! We really didn’t need it and were happy to still get to enjoy the Sinatra singer that plays for the restaurant that night. He even came over and sang for our party and had us dance which was not expected but a fun surprise that we loved! Overall we had a great event here and I am so happy we chose them to host it!“

“came here on a date with my boyfriend and we were pleasantly surprised to find a local gem! restaurant was small and unassuming from the outside however the inside was pretty and elegant. the service was excellent, friendly and fast. pre fix dinner was an amazing deal, the cheese ravioli was delicious! they had a gorgeous tray of desserts i got to choose from, the cake was the perfect way to end the night i ended up ordering 2 slices just for myself 😭 its now one of my fave italian spots, i cant wait to come back and try more from them :D“

“The pan seared roasted chicken is amazing!!! My family and I found this place a few weeks ago. It's a beautifully decorated, clean and fairly new establishment with a very polite staff. “We were traveling to the area from out of state for a family gathering, if we were going to Long Island I wanted real Italian Food. After research found this spot, made a reservation based on an estimate on when we would be getting into town.
Ended up being earlier than anticipated, called the restaurant they were able to accommodate my husband and I earlier. Along the way a family member was also getting into town and wanted to join us for dinner, they were able to adjust the reservation on the fly to accommodate us.
The wait staff was awesome. Explained the menu, specials.
Food was delicious.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxed, welcoming. We were able to sit and visit with family without feeling rushed. It was an awesome experience! Wished we lived local to be able to visit more!“

“My wife and I really enjoyed the entire setting family style dinning. We both love eggplant very much the seasonings were not salty or spicy plenty of sauce stuffed with fresh ricotta cheese. All of what we could see were large entrees no fru fru at all. This is another local good place to dine in Floral Park.“

I ordered takeout tonight for six people in my extended family and served it family style, and everyone was raving about the food. We ordered Scallops Oreganato, Shrimp Stuffed with Crabmeat, Chicken Francese, Zuppe di Clams White Sauces and a few appetizers and it was all superbly prepared. “Our first time here, based upon reviews and vicinity to our home. While the food was tasty, hot and nice portions, the service was terrific the overall atmosphere was lacking. It was excessively loud, small and cramped dining area. The seating should have been about 25 not the sqeezed in seating of 36, when we sat to ate.
I recommend reservations, like we had, to sit for dinner, even on a Sunday.
My wife had the pear & walnut salad, the fusilli pasta & sausage and Italian (made in-house) cheesecake. All were great. I had the watermelon & feta salad, salmon piccata with veggies and pistachio Gelato.

It is average market priced.
Clean environment, and bathroom, but the kitchen door to the dinning room should have remained closed.
We will try it again in the near future.“

“My wife and I had a healing, incredible meal here. Yes, the food is delicious and well made with generous portions. I can personally recommend the salmon and the pastas. My wife loved the chicken and the soup. The cheesecake is the best we've ever had. The drinks are strong and delicious and well made.

But what's makes this place stand out is the people. The owner loves the food he is making and cares for his staff. The staff seem happy and their energy and joy come across everywhere. We stayed past closing time chatting and eating and drinking.

I can't wait to come back. You should visit too.“

“We were attending an event at Queens College and wanted to have a lunch/dinner afterwards, so we searched for restaurants nearby. There were many choices, but I was impressed by the website and menu for Piccolo Sogno. Following the event, joined by four friends, my wife and I made the short drive to the restaurant. It was a hot day, and at first we said we would like to dine inside. But the gracious host said we were welcome to check the outside seating first--and we're so glad we did! In the lovely, covered garden, we comfortably began a great feast! Piccolo Sogno has a nice selection of wines and beers as well as sparkling water. That was followed by delicious Calamari Fritti (done to perfection) and a Hot Antipasto Sampler with more calamari, baked clams, eggplant rolatini and amazing fried shrimp. We followed that with Pollo Alla Francese (some of the best I've ever had), Spaghetti Carbonara, Penne Vodka, and Insalata Dello Chef with chicken. These were served with generous side orders of Caesar salad or pasta. The service was friendly, courteous and at a pace that made for a wonderful afternoon. Even though we were extremely well-filled, we ordered dessert, and are so glad we did! The Limoncello Flute was one of the best desserts we've had, as was the Chocolate Mousse. Some iced expresso (wait until you see the special way it is layered!) and coffee would have been the end of a perfect meal, but then Chef Maurizio himself came out to spend some time at our table. After a nice conversation, he took this selfie shot of us all. As we left, the wonderful staff of the restaurant all greeted us and thanked us for coming. I can't remember the last time that happened in such a warm and spontaneous way. I could not more highly recommend a restaurant. We live in Manhattan and have our choice of some of the best restaurants anywhere--but actually, I look forward to returning to Piccolo Sogno!“
