Greek Restaurants near Yorktown Heights

“I have been to my fair share of restaurants through my life, and let me tell you, Pappous is one of my favorites. As you walk through the front door you are hit with a wave of delicious smells. The workers at the front counter were so kind and made sure to make me a priority. I came on a busy Friday and it took only a couple of minutes before I was seated at my table, which is incredible compared to other restaurants on a Friday night. The services is amazing, my server was so understanding when I was having difficulty figuring out what I would like to eat and made me feel comfortable right away. They even helped me learn a couple of Greek words!! By the end of my meal I had to unbutton my jeans because the food was so scrumptious. I even ordered takeout to bring home with me after. Since my first time coming I think I’ve gotten food at least 100 times. I just cannot get over how yummy it is. The owners are so generous and friendly. It is a family owned restaurant which is adorable. The owners take care of all of their customers like they are family which I’ve never seen before. I have brought all of my family to sit and have a wonderful dinner at Pappous. It is truly a gem. If you ever need somewhere to eat I would recommend Pappous because it is truly an experience unlike any other.“

“We were the first customers on Sunday. We ordered two gyro platters , one with Greek rice and the other with spinach rice, the hummus and zucchini and egg plant chips and a moussaka and a vegetarian moussaka. Greek rice and the salad is great.“

“We had a magical night at Meraki Taverna with friends. We were greeted with enthusiasm and seated where we could watch the kitchen. The waitstaff made us feel welcomed and offered great advice for our dinner and drink orders. We had the octopus and artichoke apps, which were delicious. Lamb stew, sardines and chicken kabob entrees with walnut cake and custard in phyllo dough for dessert. Everything was perfect and we felt like we were in an authentic Greek taverna for the evening. The owner and wait staff are gracious and kind. Can’t wait to go back!“

“SO MANY 1 STARS?! I was a little sad to see the reviews on Mags! I have ordered from Mags 5 times now, and only 1 of the 5 times have I even remotely experienced anything under par. The food is great for the price, the staff is overall pretty friendly, and the food quality is good! I wouldn't knock this place with a 1 Star at all. Every small deli has it's ups and downs, but overall, Mags is a great little stop for that morning BECSPK, or home fries!Overall Rating 9/10“

“The food here is incredible. Fresh, high quality ingredients, well-seasoned, and the staff is really friendly and very nice.We've been here several times and everything we ordered was excellent (meat, vegetarian and side dishes). We particularly loved the galaktaboureko for dessert and the orange cake (I'm forgetting the name).“

“Best Greek salad. Platters with grilled meat skewers are tasty and succulent. Soups perfection. Can't say enough about the food. Service is fast, friendly and efficient.But parking is a pain and the atmosphere is on par with a diner. Save it for a second date.“
