“I have family in the area and have gone to The Barn since I was a kid when we’ve come to visit.

Always a reliable option, especially the salad wagon. Staff are friendly, no wait to get a table and a classic rustic esthetic to the place.“

“Rittman historian Patt Watts says the city is named for Fred Rittman, former treasurer of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, which built a line through town in 1871. Previous name ‘Arkona’ had to be changed because it was too easily confused with Akron.

The Erie Depot opened 1871 on South Main Street, but farmers moved the narrow wooden building to its current location in 1913. Conrail took over Erie in 1976 and discontinued its Rittman service in 1983.

Debra Lieberth has owned The Depot for 20 years. Located across the tracks from Morton Salt facility, which means customers never have to worry about running out of seasoning.

“The team from Old Carolina Barbecue Company were at our venue again last night and as usual provided stellar service. This was the second time this summer. In June catering was provided by Joseph, Gavin, Chase and Abby, and last night we had Tanner, Shannon, Chase and Abby. Both times they were timely, efficient and professional, and also added extra services like moving things around to serve appetizers outside, cutting and serving multiple cakes and leaving the kitchen spotless! All these things from a venue's perspective are so important. From the guests' perspective, of course, is the question "was the food good?" Yes it was! So good! They received many compliments. Great job guys! Thanks again!“

“I have been there a few times and it never disappoints. The homemade lasagna is to die for . The spaghetti was the proper proportion and just wonderful in taste and texture. I have been there for a couple breakfast and everything was really good. I do also want to add about the atmosphere, and the people that work there they are funny attentive to our needs and pleasant to everybody. This is a must go to restaurant.“

“Not super busy when we were there..it was later in the evening. Which I love to walk into a restaurant and not see a lot of people. Unfortunately there were also not a lot of works there either. The food was delicious..as always. My husband and I both ordered a drink, I have the white peach margarita and he had idk, something blue..to our surprise..it happened to be and $11.00 drink, which is just crazy to me. We sat there with our 3 children for 45 mins before our appetizer came. Then our drink come, mine was good but tasted like it had sat awhile..
completely watered down. My husbands was just awful. Not sure what happened to the bartenter or if they just didn't have one, so it was a server making our drinks. looking in book for recipes, trying her best..
all and all it wasn't the best service, but certainly not the worst. we will be back“

“Arrival was a bit disappointing. There were up to 4 people at the hostess stand, but none made eye contact, nodded or smiled. It was like we were invisible. In contrast, our server Matt was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean, but a bit worn.. Delicious food and cocktails. Were offered extra biscuits.“

“Busy Sunday lunch crowd. Staff were nice. We asked about grilled chicken options and the waitress offered something that didn't seem to be on the menu. I had a southwest avocado chicken bowl, which was very good. Our booth was under a ceiling fan that was blowing cool air down.“

“The was good but definitely could have been better. I had the chips and salsa as a starter. The salsa was good, and the chips were fresh. I was here on Thursday for their BOGO Boneless Wings. I ordered a 10 piece giving me a total of 20 wings, so I chose 4 different sauces. I had the Nashville Hot, Mango Habanero, Carribean Jerk, and Spicy Garlic. The wings were decent size and all very flavorful. The one issue was that some of the wings weren't coated that well in sauce and had areas with no sauce on them, I choose not to complain after all they should know how to properly coat the wings. My server Tonya was great she was very attentive and made sure my drink was full and I had everything I needed.“
