“have been living on the west side of Youngstown for years now and just now trying Walrus Subs in Austintown. A lot of places are now only doing tomato by request or even upcharging for it so it was nice that it just comes with it here. Italian sub was delicious. The bread was soft and had the right amount of stuff in it. The fries I got were soggy and grey by the time I got home but not their fault that I drive slow :P I'll probably just get a different side next time. oh and price was very reasonable. Less than 30 dollars after a hefty tip stuffed two people easily. Honestly if it wasn't so good I would have saved half for later. TLDR; 9/10 will be frequenting.“

The staff was also very helpful in giving my party and I information about the portion sizes and were very effective at servicing customers in the store and in the drive thru at the same time. The atmosphere was amazing. The happiness of the staff reflected in their professionalism and was felt throughout the interaction. “Oh my goodness this food is the best! I put only 3 stars for atmosphere because they need all new furniture, what they have is kinda falling apart, but don't let that stop you from eating here! Everything is homemade and absolutely delicious! And the serving sizes are huge! Pricing great too! We will definitely be making this a frequent place to eat! The waitress we had was so sweet, the cook... what can I say she knows how to cook! Awesomeness go try it!

“One of the worst Subway restaurants in the area, honestly. They are not open on time, they close early, and the staff genuinely act like they dont want to be there. I watched the girl making a sandwich just dump dressing all over. Most of the dressing made it 'on' the sandwiche, but it was a mess. I came in at 8pm, and they told me thay the toaster was broken so they couldn't heat anything up. I get the feeling that they cleaned the machine and didn't want to clean it again. Subway is a decent option for food, but when the people who work there dont care about the job that needs done, it shows. I won't be back here until I forget what this experience was like and I need a reminder, for sure.“

“I have been a customer of Boardman Sandwich Factory since it opened. (Proces have changed a tad...) As a little kid, we used to go to eat and play video games. My favorite has always been their fish sandwich. It's changed over the years, but it has never been bad. :) Their bread is always fresh and delicious. Shop local folks! Always a friendly smiling face taking your order, an you can watch then make your sandwich. Go get you some! :)“

Though kudos to management for a pleasant conversation.Subway’s computer isn’t functioning so it took multiple attempts for staff to try to charge the card after their scan of the Loves app. Manager did help ensure the purchase was deleted prior to trying a different machine.Bathroom clean. Lots of parking available for pit stop patrons and weary travelers for a snooze.

“Whoever the two girls that were working on Wednesday, Sept 24, 2025 at 5:20pm were awesome. I had a big order and they were patient enough to make sure I got everything right. Didn’t catch their names but they did great. Food is as to be expected, it’s subway.“

“Came into subway with my daughter. Was assisted by Logan, Chris, and Ethan. They were very patient and respectful on a very busy day at the establishment. Made sure to grab the fresh ingredients and apologize for the wait time but it was worth it. “Unlike other Subways in and around the area the employees are always so friendly and good at their jobs. It's also much cleaner and well kept than the others. I just hate the small parking lot with no markings. Too many people just nosing right up to the building causing parking problems.“

“Most of the people working here before 4pm are not very quick about their service. I stood in the lobby while a woman counted her drawer at the register for 10 minutes before she got the guy from the back. None of them smile. It almost feels as though you are bothering them. I have NOT had the same issues after 4pm. I am not sure what is happening here. I also understand bad days. Just not every single time.“

I was really happy when I went there and saw how clean the space is and then I saw how nicely the veggies, meats and cheese were organized and how much pride the staff had for the environment in which they work. “What an amazing crew this store has. I’m a traveling nurse and have been to dozens of Jersey Mike locations and this one is by far the best. I walk in and they know my name and usually know my sub unless I switch it up. They are great to talk to. The store is spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are also the same. “Update 2025: Stopped in for a sandwich today. I was waiting patiently for someone to come to the counter when another customer came in. She walked to the other side of me and looked at the menu. When the kid came up to the counter, she quickly stepped up, ignoring the fact that I had already been waiting to order. When I tried to tell her I had been there first, she rudely gave her order instead of letting someone else go before her. One of the other employees quickly noticed and came around to wait on me at the other register. And once I received my food, the other employee apologized. I appreciated it, although I told him it was not him that was rude but the lady. I love the food here and the service is pretty good too!! Thank you for apologizing for something that was not your fault!!

When I was little, there was a sandwich factory in Warren that my mom always took me to. Then it closed (and now little wings is there, so it’s ok). When I found this one in Austintown, I was so excited and they lived up to my memories! The bread is amazing and when you add the vinegar, I melt. I’m almost drooling just thinking about their subs! I try and stop every time I go to Austintown now! Thanks for keeping a littles girls memories alive!“
