“I’d been drooling over GSB’s pastries on Facebook for months like a sugar-starved stalker, and I finally found myself in the area—hallelujah. The second I walked in, I was hit with a wave of sugary air and a warm hello that felt like a hug from a cinnamon bun. There were so many treats I wanted to adopt, but the second I saw the giant, chocolate-covered cream puff, it basically yelled, “Take me to your husband!” Mission accepted. I brought it home and casually told my husband, “Hey, I picked up a little pastry for you.” Hours later, he opened the bag and said—verbatim—“Holy #%?!”. This thing was an absolute unit. At least six inches tall, overflowing with fresh whipped cream like it was showing off. We both took a bite and just stared at each other like we’d seen pastry heaven. It was rich, cloud-like, and somehow not overly sweet. My husband, a self-proclaimed cream puff connoisseur, declared it the best he’s ever had. And trust me, the man has puff experience. Only one thought: throw in a middle pastry layer, Big Mac-style. Not because it needs it, but because my jaw would appreciate the break from climbing Mt. Cream Puff.“

We haven’t ventured away from our usual, but the Nutella with strawberries and bananas is always delicious and so filling. “Such a great coffee shop! The Cafe de Olla is amazing, and the empanadas and guava rolls were equally as impressive! To top it off, the owner is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I mentioned that I had kids, and she took the time out of her day to show me around the building and told me all about the art museum’s exhibits (the cafe currently shares a space with the Cleveland Art Museum’s Community Arts Center) that she thought my kids might enjoy. I can’t wait to see all of the additional offerings when the new location opens!“

With the beach and playground nearby, it's a great option to grab a bite to eat and I was genuinely surprised at how good the food was. The ice cream of course is amazing. Just don't wear heels if you want to sit upstairs because that staircase, though beautiful, was scary to walk up and down on.

“I attended a baby shower here and the room was spacious with a beautiful view of the outdoor botanical gardens thru glass walls. The indoor plant conservatory was nearby and it's so pretty, even in dreary weather! You can tell the plants and fish are well cared for. Conservatory staff are really nice and the small gift shop has cute seasonal and butterfly knick knacks. Both the Orchid Room, indoor and outdoor gardens, and restrooms are all accessible for wheelchair users. The Orchid Room has a kitchen area for cooking and heating up food for big gatherings. If you reserve the Orchid Room, the usual $2 fee per person to see the indoor gardens is waived for your guests who attend which was really nice.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are smooth walkways to both indoor and outdoor gardens and no stairs. The Orchid Room, gift shop, and restrooms have flat flooring and disabled restroom stalls. Easily accessible for wheelchair users!“
