“Went on Valentine’s Day without reservations. Were told a 45 minute wait for a table, or immediate seating at the bar. We chose to sit at the bar. Our waiter Maurice was quick to provide service and very friendly and informative. We both ordered the pacific combo and it was delivered in probably 10 minutes! It was outstanding and we were so stuffed we couldn’t even finish it, all the crab legs were filled with meat (never got an empty one) and everything was exceptional. We drove 2 hours to eat here and would do it again! Thank you Maurice!“

I won’t change the stars because I don’t want to bring down the overall rating, but unfortunately I won’t eat here anymore. The change in the chicken leaves much to be desired. Aesthetically, I prefer my chicken in whole discernable pieces - not chopped up into a bunch of nuggets. I am not sure if it tastes the same because the look alone turned me off. My husband ate some and the rest was thrown away. So sad as we really love this restaurant.

The food is AMAZING!!! I drive 30 minutes one way and have done so the last three days in a row. I really have no words to describe how delicious it is. I order the Jollof chicken with rice and an extra side of chicken. The chicken marinade/seasonings 😩 — I am hooked! I also get the Egusi soup with yam fufu and an extra order of fufu, along with an order of plantains. I have been eating here for about a year now - when they were at old location. I had just moved to the area and was so happy to have found them. To top it off- the owner is such a sweet lady! She makes you feel like family! Try them, you won’t go anywhere else after you do!“

“I ordered Kung Pao Chicken for lunch. It was a beautiful combination of fresh and bright vegetables with juicy pieces of chicken. It Had the right amount of kick and the sauce was so flavorful. My favorite part of kung pao is the peanuts that help counter act the spiciness. Which grand china did not disappoint me and had a nice amount of peanuts in the dish! I also loved they used zucchini in this dish it was superb. Lunch is fairly priced at $7 a combination. I will be back to try more dishes !

April 2026 update

I tried their HUGE JUICY FRIED WINGS , were picked up on a Friday night while at the bar few doors down. Super impressed with the flavor, crispiness and size of theses wings. I already loved the traditional Chinese takeout from here and now I have to start picking up these bug juicy wings!

I do think you guys should offer some sweet n sour or even a house sauce to sell along side it too. It would have been a huge hit with the girls! They were kinda mad I had no sauce.“

“Not the most appealing appearance on the outside and not the best location but.....HANDS DOWN THE ABSOLUTE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN COLUMBUS. I have eaten here since I was 9 years old. My absolute favorite place in Columbus been going there since I was about 11 years old and I’m 39 now Family goes there. My children have grown up loving it don’t get it wrong. We go all over and try every Pl., Reynoldsburg Pickerington, Westerville, Arlington, Dublin, West Side, Columbus Hilliard, any place we can find Chinese food we have tried throughout the years and still believe Golden House is 💯#🥇🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟“

Seating is 4 people booths and 4 people tables, so our party of 6 can't sit together, but you can sit across the isle from each other. also charge $10.79 service fee each check (Gratuity) because there were 6 of us.“
