“We had our first visit to Hickory House Reynoldsburg tonight and the dinner was phenomenal! We ordered the Barbecue Platter and the pork, ribs and chicken were all fantastically seasoned. And the Mac and cheese-what is this magic?!? That may be the best Mac and cheese I have ever tasted!!! We loved our dinner so much we ordered a whole other platter to go. Kelly was our server and she explained the menu options very well which made ordering simple and easy. She was also so enjoyable to chat with. All in all, fabulous food and fantastic service. “Loved this place completely until today. I've been here probably 40-50 times in the last 2 years. It's always been pretty good and good service. Today I met a friend there for dinner and we got Ismaelas a server. He got mad at us because our drinks weren't right. All we did was ask for something different. He did not like that. We got our new drinks after about 10 minutes. We ordered our food and he even repeated back to us what we were ordering as he was writing it down. Once our food came mine had onions and pico. Neither of which I eat. We waited a few minutes for him to come back around and I told him about my issue. He looked mad that I did not want the onions on my food. Literal just gave me a dirty look.I told him to just take it back and I do not need a replacement. My friend did eat his tacos. He didn't come back over to our table for a while. My buddy ran out of his drink for maybe 15-20 minutes. We told the lady at the counter but she didn't seem to care. Hopefully someone does. I've brought a lot of people to this establishment and I myself have spent a ton of money there bringing my family of 5. Ive left good reviews and always spoke highly of this place. I've always bragged about how they have it figured out. Well, today has somewhat ruined it for me. Never once were we rude or out of line. I'm guessing Ismael was having a bad day. Maybe I'll come back later in the future, maybe not. That's sucks because I really like their food.“

“I reserved a table for my husband and I to celebrate our recent marriage. It was Friday night and SO busy. Even though it was packed, the staff were very attentive, friendly, and open to discussing the menu. We were very appreciative of the gluten free modifications they made for us (and a lot of it didn't even need modified). Excellent cocktails and my husband was able to watch Chef and staff prepare (in the main lounge). The Sea Bass was excellent and my husband said the Waygu steak "will haunt my dreams." We finished with Creme Brûlée, which was already gluten free. We will definitely go back again.“

“I was so impressed with my first time experiencing The Barn at Rocky Fork restaurant. I was both welcomed, and seated quickly. Every single morsel of food was to my liking- I especially enjoyed the barbecue and fried chicken. The cold food was great as well , I enjoyed the shrimp and crab dip. “I dined here for the first time yesterday and order the Fettuccine Alfredo w/chicken and a Caesar salad…both were absolutely delicious, the flavor was amazing and so was the Moscato wine which had the perfect amount of sweetness that I like! The breadsticks were amazing, they melt in your mouth. My server Aaron, was excellent, great personality with a wonderful sense of humor! He told me the story of how his grandma would make fresh tortillas and slide him one or two before dinner as a kid. “Why are all the gems found in the rough? This was the best gyro I’ve had in Columbus The lamb was cooked to perfection regardless of how long it might have been sitting precooked. The pita was toasted on the flattop to the point it was crispy but didn’t break when folded. Fresh veggies were very surprising as well. Will be back but only in the middle of the day.“

Ever have a dinner plan fall through, only to find something even better by accident?

That’s exactly how I ended up here. My go-to Thai place was closed (my heart was set on pork belly fried rice), so I pivoted—and honestly, I’m glad I did.

This was only my second time at El Tacoriendo, and it was a 4/4 taco win.

I tried:
🌮 Asada – tender and smoky, almost buttery in a warm corn tortilla
🌮 Suadero – juicy and rich without being greasy
🌮 Cecina – salty-savory in the best way
🌮 Barbacoa – soft, shredded, and perfect with a squeeze of lime

Everything came loaded with fresh cilantro, onion, grilled onions, and crisp cucumber slices on the side. The green salsa was mellow, the red had a little kick, but honestly, the meat didn’t need any help.

Even after not eating all day, two tacos filled me up—these portions are no joke.

The menu has so many proteins you don’t see everywhere: beef tongue, tripe, buche, chorizo. After today, I’m open to trying all the unique ones next time. If you’re the adventurous type, this is your playground.

🚨 Outside the building looks like the kind of spot you'd second-guess after dark--like pulling up to a Linden carryout when the streetlights flicker--but trust me, If you judge a taco by the tortilla (and honestly, you should), this place is worth checking out.

Inside feels relaxed and colorful—painted chairs, bright walls, and no pressure. You’re just here to eat good food.

I’d bring y’all with me if I could—because this is the kind of spot that’s easy to love.
