“We visited today and had a fabulous experience. The staff was helpful and friendly. The cafe itself was well appointed (actual silverware, not plastic), water carafes available along with lemon slices for no extra charge, clean, bright - even the soap in the bathroom smelled wonderful! But the almond croissants were amazing. Not to sound pretentious, but we've eaten almond croissants in Paris and they didn't even come close to the greatness of what we ate at Sophie's. The latte I had and the espresso my husband had was also delicious. We were in the area, traveling across the great divide from the west side of the county, and are so glad we stopped in. It would be a challenge to the waist line if we lived closer but we will certainly add regular visits to Sophie's even if it's just for coffee and an almond croissant. Also, the painting of Sophie at the front door is wonderful. Our own Sophie-dog crossed over the rainbow bridge last year so the painting was extra special to us. Run, do not walk, to this wonderful cafe.“

“Always very good service! Cookies always look great! Last week however, (not the workers fault though) online it said on Tuesday (very early like 3am) that they still had the biscoff Dubai brownie (sometimes they have them leftover from previous week) but I ordered it online for pick up in morning…. Mind you getting Dubai anything costs an extra $1.50… I ordered 3 & when I got there they told me that they didn’t have it bc it was for previous week. Every other store online didn’t have it online shown but they did. I ended up picking 2 cookies that weren’t anything I wanted but I never got refunded or anything. I spent an extra 4.50 for the Dubai brownie but was still owed $ for the other one I didn’t get. Super bummed“

“We just had the best experience at Michael's Bakery. The cheese and apricot folded croissants were delicious, the adorable flower cupcake moist and beautifully decorated, and the bread loaf perfect with our lunch. We went for our son's birthday and the clerk was incredibly kind and professional, and even gave him a cookie for the occasion. We will definitely be back!“

The smores bars instantly transport me back to my grandma's house, in front of the wood stove putting together that messy concoction, yet all you need is a napkin. “Hi - My wife (Polish) and I (Czech) grew up in Lakewood, OH. We have fond memories of visits to the West Side Market where we would find delicious Polish and Czech kolaches - the sweet bowtie pastries filled with all sorts of great fruit and cheese fillings.

We have been in Texas now for the past 30 years, and while the Texas-Czechs make excellent round kolache and savory klobásníky (and call them all kolache)...we have never been able to find a local bakery that makes the ones like we remember.

We just received our package delivery from Stosh's Kolaches last week and these kolaches are just as delicious and exactly as the ones we remembered!! We can't thank Stosh and Kelly enough for following their dream - and keeping ours alive!

This was our first order from Stosh's Kolaches, and we shared them with another couple here in Buffalo, Texas who were also from the Lakewood/Bay Village area. Everyone is raving about how good the kolache are.

“We moved from the area 7 years ago so we hadn't been in for a long time. We purchased a nut roll, 1 apricot Danish, a pound of nut kolachkis, 2 cupcakes, 1 chocolate bomb, 1 brownie and 2 dozen pierogies. Firs, the good....the apricot Danish was the best I have ever had. My son enjoyed the chocolate bomb.The cupcakes were average and we were definitely expecting more for $4.50 each. The kolachkis are very dry and disappointing. My husband tried 1 bite of the brownie and threw it away. 3 of the 4 sides were rock hard. We haven't tried the pierogies, but I'm hoping they are as good as in years past. Fingers crossed for the nut roll tomorrow morning as well. After spending over $77 we had hoped for a better experience.“

“It’s been awhile since we have gone to little Italy, Presti’s has been our favorite, they did not disappoint. Took the grandkids & eat so much great stuff! Great prices. Dinning area clean & bright. Restroom room is a 7 out of 10. Chose their pasta, meat Stromboli, spinach & sausage Stromboli, eggplant, red tortellini pasta & of course their cannoli, lady locks - the young man who help was sweet & kind, warmed up everything. It looks like they’re doing some renovations, so parts of it have that old-school charm while other areas are getting a bit of a refresh. Other spots look like they need scrubbing. The donuts were excellent—fresh, flavorful. Self-serve. You can tell this place has been around a while. Some unique candy options I have not seen before. A payphone too!?
