“Rittman historian Patt Watts says the city is named for Fred Rittman, former treasurer of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, which built a line through town in 1871. Previous name ‘Arkona’ had to be changed because it was too easily confused with Akron.
The Erie Depot opened 1871 on South Main Street, but farmers moved the narrow wooden building to its current location in 1913. Conrail took over Erie in 1976 and discontinued its Rittman service in 1983.
Debra Lieberth has owned The Depot for 20 years. Located across the tracks from Morton Salt facility, which means customers never have to worry about running out of seasoning.

“I want to say a huge thank you to Blue Heron Brewery! Our party of 12 did call ahead seating to another restaurant and the wait time was ridiculous. I called Blue Heron to see if they could quickly accommodate us and they made quick arrangements to get us in right away, in the igloo seating to boot! You made our night special for my husband's 50th birthday. We appreciate it!“

“We bombarded the Solon location with a large party ( more than 10) and when I tell you everything from the initial greeting until we bid farewell was AMAZING!!! The food was PHENOMENAL and our server Ty… HE DID THAT! The staff prepared each meal perfectly and not one of us had any complaints!! Thank you all for being so accommodating! And Mr. King ( the manager) he was totally hands on as well as I think her name was Renee another manager . We will so be back!!!“

“Buyer beware. ordered 2 double Don Julio silver mixed drinks doubles with cranberry and a salad. food was great and always has been. service from bartender was slow as she was more concerned with clearing plates at 8 pm than seeing to her customers. Bill came for $73 drinks charged for 2 was $61??? for a bottle that costs wholesale around $50. won't ever order another drink here without first asking if it is WAY overpriced. former restaurant owner and liquor/wine sales supervisor by the way!“

“usually I do not waste my time doing reviews. On Tap is a really nice place with good food and USUALLY good service. HOWEVER today 8/27/23 my service here was terrible, the guy who brought out our food dumped my onion rings on the tray and picked them up with his Bare hand put them back on my plate and gave me my food that's gross dude.. Our server took our order brought us our drinks and we didn't see her again until we flagged her down to get a to go box and our check she took the card we were paying with and proceeded to ask around and take peoples orders with our card. don't think I will be coming back for a while“

“We enjoyed another delightful evening at Oaks Lakeside last night. Eric created a Lucious desert with cherries and whip cream. A pie that was better than any we’ve had. We enjoy all the people who work at the Oaks and friends we meet. Another wonderful evening. Great view of the sunset !“

“Just went here today just terrible got the turkey and stuffing. and mashed potatoes . Turkey was cold stuffing was like hard rocks not the stuffing they used to have that was good mashed potatoes were ok . Nothing like leaving a restaurant and still being hungry and not satisfied. Will never be back. manager was on the other side never once looked our way not a good way to do business when socializing with others you know but ignore the other customers that our at a table“

“I have been there a few times and it never disappoints. The homemade lasagna is to die for . The spaghetti was the proper proportion and just wonderful in taste and texture. I have been there for a couple breakfast and everything was really good. I do also want to add about the atmosphere, and the people that work there they are funny attentive to our needs and pleasant to everybody. This is a must go to restaurant.“
