Staff are friendly and often greet you when you come in which is really nice! They keep a quick pace so know what you want, but that is ok because they keep things moving very well and you never have to wait long. 5/5 stars from me and I have been there at least 20 times now.“

“My husband, kids and I stopped at Swiss Chalet on Barrie View Drive on the way to our cottage last week. It is always our go-to! Reliable food, kind servers, clean space. This time, we splurged for the new cheesecake that our server, Shannon recommended for desert. Needless to say, we will be back on our way home next week as the girls haven’t stopped talking about the cheesecake. “My wife and I visited Jack Astor's on Aug. 16/25 and had an amazing experience!! From the very beginning where we were greeted by the smiling, cheerful hostesses, to our dinner, to the very end when we said our good-byes to the hostesses again, our visit was great!! Our server, Cohen, deserves special mention because he made our dinner a great one!! From his greeting to the end, he was always attentive and courteous but not overly so as some can do! Also, the whole staff deserves a shoot-out because someone was always clearing away plates, etc. Cohen, thank you for all your efforts in making the dinner an enjoyable one!!! We will definitely return to Jack Astor's Barrie in the future!

“Husband and I recently relocated from the Maritimes, stopped in for breakfast and we were not disappointed! Friemdly and promt greetings, quick seating, great atmosphere and decor, amazing and diligent staff. Barrie location is more than happy to accommodate those with needing smaller portions as an adult. Our server went above and beyond any service we have received back home. even heard her communicate with the chef directly, and when an ingredient wasnt available, instead of taking it off the menu for the day, someone ran out and actually picked up said ingredient .. top notch guest service! We cannot wait to go back and try their lunch menu!“

“What a great experience. Had a small work meeting here. The simulators were accurate with some cool technology (moving lie platform, swing video). Most importantly the food was incredible, best I've ever had at any golf simulator. Candice, the owner was extremely accommodating and really made our event a great experience. “Burger Royal does have really good food. I will give them that. But their service is terrible. I went in the other day and was told my burger would be 10-15 mins and it took them 28 mins to make just a cheese burger!!! Nothing else!! This isn’t the first time this has happened. This has probably happened 4 or 5 times over the last 7 times I have stopped in. Those are terrible averages. They only had 3 ppl working and they were clearly under staffed for being around dinner time. Not to mention there was no fifth gear they were all stuck in first gear. No hustle, just dragging their feet. It was sad to watch how slow they were for how busy they were. It was painful to watch. They clearly don’t care about customer service. I feel like when ever I decide to give them another shot its the same disappointment. Burger Royal is making it much easier to not go there even though they have good food, they really lack in the service part. Great food is nothing without proper and professional service!! I hope they can get their act together!“

“Travelling home from Vancouver to Timmins, we stopped at this Wendy’s for a quick bite. Wendy’s is usually my go-to when travelling, as I find it to be the most consistent across the board among fast food chains. What made this stop particularly excellent was Jack. Jack was the young man working behind the counter who served us. Not only was he fast and efficient, but his communication skills were/are excellent.

As we were eating, Jack came out to the floor to clean the tables and chairs. He then went over to the condiment station, restocking napkins and making sure everything was tidy. He didn’t miss a beat. This young man is an exceptional employee and deserves to be recognized.

Jack somehow managed to make my favourite burger taste even better— maybe that’s just the Jack effect 😆

Oct 3, 2025 - I received the best service today I've ever experienced at an a&w. The moment I mentioned food allergy the employee instantly inform the rest of the staff that there was a food allergy and that they must wash their hands.
This employee deserves an award!!“

“I find Wendy’s to be a decent choice when I’m looking for a quick meal. Their baked potatoes, garden salads, and fries are reliable options, and I appreciate that they offer customizable sandwiches if you want to skip the meat. However, compared to other fast-food chains, Wendy’s could definitely expand their vegetarian menu with more plant-based proteins or meatless burger options. Overall, it’s good for a simple meal, but I hope to see more variety for vegetarians in the future.“
