“We had a private party in the “party room” last night and everyone was outstanding. Thank you to the lovely ladies bartending. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The music was great and the game was on for our Leaf fans! I’d like to give a special shout out to Sasha who went above and beyond and provided exemplary customer service during the set up and throughout the night. I definitely recommend this venue and restaurant.“
“My family and I have tried this restaurant on several occasions since moving to the Bowmanville area. It came recommended by several locals. Best wings I've ever had. The rib and wing combo on the weekend is also great value, delicious. We come here routinely now.“
“This is such a cute place! It was my first time coming here and we were greeted right away by the owner and seated. (I think he was the owner). Our table was in a nice private nook. The decor is very interesting and along with the music, makes you feel like you could be in Ireland haha. Our server Alisha was very friendly and efficient. We tried the 'scabby leg' and the 'tinkers red' beers and they were both good. I got the liver and onions which was really good, and a huge portion, I had leftovers for the next day. Also, the bread that came with the meal was DELICIOUS! My husband got the Dublin Lawyer lobster roll meal, and our friends got the curry and the fish and chips. They all liked their meals as well. Great experience and will 100% be back sometime.“
“A friend recommended Castle John’s to me tonight and I am so glad we tried it!!! I can’t say enough about our experience. All of our meals were perfect. I had the Philly steak sandwich and my daughter had the Castle Club - two amazing sandwiches. There was also yummy Mac and cheese for two of the kids and fish and chips. All great. Great food is important but service can have just as much impact on a business. The deep fried pickles we ordered didn’t get packed with our order and we left without it. Castle John’s called by the time we got home. We live in Bowmanville but we were considering going back to pick up the pickles. Castle John’s decided instead that they would drive the pickles out to us and then even left a card expressing regret for the mistake with a discount on our next meal in the bag. That is incredible customer service and we will definitely be going back. Give them a try!!“
“This has become our new favourite place. We discovered it on a double date and were so impressed. From the drink choices, the amazing AAA steak’s, pasta (?) and Yorkie Bowls, to delicious desserts…you really have to visit this cute little pub. You won’t be disappointed and we are tough critics!!“
“Being our first time there, we found the food and menu choices very good . We were there about 530pm and the atmosphere was pleasant social ,pub like not quiet as you normally expect as its not a restruant and a Saturday early pre eve. Waitress of course attentive as the eve proceeded atmosphere vibe shifted ,a few younger fellows in center tables started feeling good and getting louder ,then louder to where it interfered with comfort levels and the atmosphere surrounding areas at least it did us . For sure , As it was early still only about 630pm they were becoming pretty intoxicated and loud we finished up our birthday supper and departed it just became to loud at that point for comfort for our comfort .“
“Went to A Stones Throw with some friends before a gig. My first time there. We were a party of 6. Glad we made a reservation because the place was packed. And I can see why. Great atmosphere. Despite being busy our server was friendly and attentive and got us everything we needed when we needed it. Pints were great and very reasonably priced. Our food came in a timely fashion. Everything tasted great. Portions were awesome for the price. I'll definitely be back.“
