“Went to A Stones Throw with some friends before a gig. My first time there. We were a party of 6. Glad we made a reservation because the place was packed. And I can see why. Great atmosphere. Despite being busy our server was friendly and attentive and got us everything we needed when we needed it. Pints were great and very reasonably priced. Our food came in a timely fashion. Everything tasted great. Portions were awesome for the price. I'll definitely be back.“

We're going to eat our way through the menu after recently rediscovering this gem in the heart of Bowmanville. We're not fancy eaters and everything we've tried is cooked so perfectly and spiced just right. Their fries, fabulous. Tried the quesadilla with chicken today, so delicious and the BEST real chicken fingers. A family restaurant, quiet, great service and homey atmosphere. Also excellent breakfasts. “Dropped in for lunch with my toddler and kindergartener. My kiddos were a bit hangry after our morning activities and so they were being a bit of a handful, but I was welcomed with big smiles and coloring books at the ready! Our server was delightful, and totally understood the challenge of keeping two young kids occupied so we didn't bother other patrons. We ordered a chicken caesar wrap and an order of chicken fingers and fries. The food came impossibly fast (like I wonder if they bumped my order because I was on borrowed time with my littles), but I noticed that they're able to turn out most meals just as quickly. The fingers are those old school, white meat deliciousness and the fries are the best chip truck quality, with all the beautiful crunchy bits. The wrap was super fresh and a generous portion. They use high quality ingredients and never waiver from their exceptional service. My kids settled in and cleaned their plates, which says a lot! We were able to get on our way making excellent time, but I will definitely return be returning, perhaps with my husband or a friend to spend a little more time enjoying myself. They have lids for the kids drinks and an excellent kids menu with generous portions. I could have eaten off the kids menu! “I came to this location today after having a very bad experience earlier at the Oshawa (Taunton rd & Harmony) location and what a difference. The moment we walked in we were greeted and seated and everything was great! Our server was Rebecca was awesome! She was friendly and served us well checked in a few times to make sure everything was good. The food was so good hot tasty and came out fast. We ate our entrees and had dessert in less than an hour. Awesome experience from the moment we entered to when we left. *note I shared our earlier experience with Rebecca just before we left. So the staff here is clearly genuine and professional. Highly recommend this location.“

“Just placed an order at bistro238 of my favourites from this past Saturday brunch! This place truly is a hidden gem in Courtice! It was our first time for brunch and everything was delicious! Their quiche, their scones, their croissants, and this olive lemon cake - you know there’s a true pastry chef in the building when! The atmosphere is so cozy and they are beyond welcoming and nice. Chef Simon made the table since we were a walk in. He looks exactly like his picture btw. Highly recommend a reservation on weekends they get very busy. Everything was fresh tasting. Simple ingredients and the best quality. I can’t wait to try their dinner menu! I’m a foodie and so happy that my trips to Toronto for a good quiche and croissant fix are over. “This has become our new favourite place. We discovered it on a double date and were so impressed. From the drink choices, the amazing AAA steak’s, pasta (?) and Yorkie Bowls, to delicious desserts…you really have to visit this cute little pub. You won’t be disappointed and we are tough critics!!“
“On Friday I made a reservation for my kid’s hockey team for the following day for 25-30 people. Next day we called to say it’s actually 50…restaurant didn’t even flinch and hosted us no problem! The service was phenomenal, and the food was great. They had all of us served and pretty much wrapped up in an hour and a half!! 12/10 would recommend!!! Also: order the beet salad!“
“Good portion of wings and fries (sweet chili). Definitely will be back on Mon/Tues with a deal. Pad thai sauce tastes good but not authentic thai food with a lack of vegetables on it. Goat rice is average with very thin slices of meat, but it is soft and cooked enough both of meat and potatoes. (Just wishing for more meat).“

Who wouldn't want fried crispy Jalepenos on their pulled pork?We like this restaurant a lot, and will definitely be back, as per the wee master's orders.“
