“We cannot say enough about our experience at Pepe and Lela’s tonight. We almost cancelled because of the snow but thankfully we didn’t because it was one of the best meals we have had in a very long time. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food is all house-made, authentic and absolutely delicious. Our server, Amanda was literally the best. She was friendly, engaging, funny, knowledgeable and so accommodating. It is so refreshing to go out for a meal and enjoy every minute of the entire experience. Everyone should try this gem- you won’t be disappointed.”

We started with a crisp Caesar salad (the only one I've ever had that I can say compete with my father's - even Dad agreed) and a beautifully balanced Caprese salad with the freshest basil, both savoury and well-executed. Even the bread and butter were exceptionally phenomenal—a simple yet telling detail of the kitchen’s commitment to quality. For mains, the halibut was perfectly tender, the rack of lamb with scallops rich and flavourful, and the filet mignon flawlessly cooked with a peppercorn sauce that was absolute perfection. Each dish showcased precision and top-quality ingredients, all complemented by a bold, complex 2013 Brunello Monticiano. A silky crème brûlée and expertly crafted Spanish coffees was the ultimate indulgence to finish this exceptional meal. Consistently outstanding—sophisticated, polished, and always worth returning to.”

And nothing against Darden restaurants, but I can't say my time and money at their other brands have been particularly well spent. However, Eddie V's surprised and delighted us. The front-of-house introduction and subsequent seating left a bit to be desired (plus, no coat check?). The service was good, not exceptional. I chalked that up to a younger server who is still inexperienced and finding their confidence, so I wasn't too disappointed. The food, on the other hand, was exceptional. The crab, lobster, and steak were all prepared and cooked well. It has been a long time since I've had every dish come out of the kitchen without issue, which was awesome. After dinner, the manager stopped and gave my wife and me a gift for our date night, which sealed the deal that we'd be back in the future. I appreciated the thought and consideration Eddie V's provided.”

I started with a Caesar Salad that was huge and garlickly delicious. My wife had baked brie which was also tasty. She also enjoyed her Beef Tenderloin but the show stopper was my main. A phenomenal, unctuous and exceptionally tender beer braised beef short rib with mashed and seasonal vegetables. Fantastic!!! Highly recommended!!!”

The atmosphere and ambiance was intimate and classy. But let’s talk about the FOOD! Ugh! I splurged and tried the certified A5 Kobe, and it did not disappoint! It was incredibly buttery, tender, and perfectly cooked to temp, I couldn’t get enough. We’ve been to Japan and had A5 Kobe and Wagyu, and this was right up top with the cuts we had there. The sides were nothing short of phenomenal! We also had the sushi assortment with maki, nigiri and sashimi and it was mouth watering. I wish we lived right next door to this place, but I guess it’s better for my wallet that we don’t. If you’re considering eating here, DO IT!”

When the plate arrived, the presentation was lovely, but upon her biting into the patty, it was undeniably rare and undercooked. Although we both like medium burgers for their juiciness, my wife is pregnant and cannot enjoy due to medical reasons. Now, let's be honest: in the rush of a busy dinner service, kitchen errors do happen. That is simply a fact of the industry. What differentiates a mediocre restaurant from a truly outstanding one is the recovery, and the team at Spencers executed a flawless, five-star recovery. We also noticed that a manager touched every table to ensure everything was OK. Manager Daniel approached our table, offered a genuine, warm apology and whisked the plate away, promising to take it off our bill (this was not requested or needed) The recovery that followed went far beyond the simple expectation of a corrected meal. The manager immediately informed us that the entire cost of the burger would be removed from our bill and even surprised us by preparing and dropping off a new one for us to take home. (Agin not requested or needed) We left the restaurant feeling profoundly special and deeply valued. The entire staff, from the kitchen to the floor, treated the mistake not as an annoyance, but as an opportunity to truly shine and earn our loyalty. I saw someone go into Sandwich Station so I eventually ended up there too. Glad I did! Very pleasant man at the counter, the portobello mushroom sandwich was delicious, so was the tomato and basil soup (which came with garlic bread), my husband loved the meatball sandwich, said it was one of the best ones he’s had. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the location, and as a vegetarian I was pleased to see several interesting options available. Also, there are lots of tables if you choose to eat there.”
