“Gerrys is the spot. I first went there maybe 20 years ago. It was way after close. The owner was out front and I started talking with him. He went in, opened up and fixed me a plate. Every time I go to Toronto, it is the first place I go. Big up Donavon. Always filled my belly and treated me like fam. I wish all businesses ran like this. I am super loyal to them. “Sometimes the food is okay but it's a hit or miss. Recently bought a curried goat & Rice dinner Recently, it had too much gravey and the meat seemed as if they scraped the bottom of the pot. Sometimes the food is very salty and customer experience needs to be improved. Being courteous and pleasant goes a long way.“

“Orlando’ restaurant is a great place if you are looking for authentic, top quality Jamaican cuisine. So far i have been there twice, first time had the oxtail and this time the curry goat. Both times were excellent!!! Today had the added bonus of meeting both Mr. and Mrs Orlando and let me say they are a delight, not only because the make great food but we had a very enjoyable conversation. This is a definite must try!!! You wont be disappointed !!!“

“I had the pleasure of dining at Peppers Caribbean Restaurant near Islington and Steeles, and it was an incredible experience! I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and coleslaw,(food looked so good, started eating before snapping a pic) and it was absolutely amazing. The oxtail was tender, the rice and peas were perfectly cooked, and the portion was large enough for two! The chef clearly knows what they're doing—everything was cooked to perfection. The ladies at the counter were so sweet and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend this spot for authentic Caribbean food!“

“Jonny the waiter was not only attentive, but also so catering to the needs of our group. He made sure our drinks were always topped up during the live band also while caring for a full out door patio. Matty in the back who carried out my steak did an incredible job not only was it cooked to satisfactory but it was above and beyond what my expectations were I had the best experience I could have asked for and would recommend to anyone i possibly could.

“Flavorful jerk chicken not too spicy. Can’t beat the pric, $5.00 lunch special including rice and peas and slaw. Cooked on an out charcoal grill for a natural smoky flavour. Someone mentioned pink chicken but I’m sure this is from the natural smoke. Mine was cooked perfectly.“

You could taste the spices from the skin down to the meat. Bone included! The plantains were soft, sweet, juicy and when you bit into it, the flavor just exploded in your mouth! This hidden gem is tucked away in the North Park Plaza at the corner of Keele & Lawrence, take out and catering only, great choice of items available, tons of parking at the store front for your convenience, a huge bonus was the fact that the customer service is just as good as the food. I have never seen persons so calm and cheerful at work during a lunch rush - Even the customers inside had good customer service, haha! I look forward to my next visit and trying the fried chicken.
