“My brother and I ordered at the front counter. The female employee took our order. She give us a number to leave it on our table, that we choose to sit down. Then another female employee will served our food to our table and take the number away. The food we ordered was served hot and it was very good. We ordered Fish and Chips with gravy. Also we ordered 3 side orders. One Coliflower bites, Second Mushroom sticks and Beef Rolls. We also ordered two rootbeers.

When we were done eating another waitress came over and took our dishes. Their service was very good. We don't really need to tip. But my brother was generous by giving them a tip added to what we owe for our dinners.

There were people ordering takeout.

They do have a small diner and they do a good job cleaning the area. They do have washrooms with Wheelchair Accessible Entrances.

They also have parking at the front of the restaurant. They do have Wheelchair Accessible Parking Lots. They do share their parking lot with other stores, restaurants and businesses.“

“Amazing fish n chips. Huge portion. Ordered the family package and it was more than we could eat. Tons of tartar sauce which in our family is a must. You can call ahead and order and pick up very fast. Service was good. Cash only!! I learned the hard way. $50 all in for family package. You choose the type of fish you prefer as well.“

“Went here for the first time on Sat for jam night. The 3 guys jamming were fantastic!!! The food was delicious and priced great. The owner is a friendly outgoing man and goes over the top to welcome his customers. My boyfriend and I will definitely return to see the guys jam and enjoy the food again.“

So I went to this place on a hunch. Saw some pics online, the reviews were solid, and it had an old faded sign... which is usually a very good sign in many ways.

It looked like it had survived the test of time, and I later found out it has been open for 40+ years. That checks out. There was a steady flow of customers the whole time I was there, which is usually all you need to know.

The batter was not like any fish n chips I’ve ever had. I got the haddock. It was flaky, light, crispy, and somehow not heavy at all. Pretty amazing stuff. The onion rings and shrimp were done in the same batter too, and both were great. Price was absolutely reasonable. Will go for Halibut next time.

The coleslaw was also particularly delicious. Diced very finely, creamy, vinegary, and not something that you just leave on the side. Was a perfect compliment to the fish. Chips were proper.

Overall, this place is a very fine fish n chips spot. Easily top 5 in Hamilton. The plaza it’s in keeps it obscure, and doesnt do it justice. But it should be noted that this business is likely the oldest business in the small plaza. This is 100% a hidden gem, and I definitely get the feeling it is legendary among locals as everyone in there seemed very familiar to the place. Staff was lovely as well.

The only thing I would say is they had no salads outside of the amazing coleslaw, and no juice for my son. But honestly, this place is not trying to over deliver on variety. It is simple, knows exactly what it is, and delivers where it matters 100%.

I will definitely bring my father from England, who brought me up on fish n chips. I am sure he will approve with flying colours. What a pleasant discovery Harrys was. Try it for yourself!“

“We had Hutches on the Beach yesterday for Good Friday and I recommend 10/10! With it being their busiest day of the year we still got our food hot and fresh, it was delicious and reasonably priced for 3 adults to each have a meal and be stuffed afterwards. The restaurant was clean and tidy and wow the employees are such hard workers! Krystle served us and she was very kind and pleasant to talk to, she was fast and efficient at doing her tasks. Kudos to your whole team! Can't wait to come back again.“
