“Blown away by this bakery! Both the knafeh and original chocolate chip cookies were amazing, not too sweet, and the knafeh especially was one of a kind. I was also very impressed with both their drip and cardamom latte and was not surprised to hear they source their beans from some of the best roasters in Toronto.The owner was very kind and sought out any feedback we had. “We ordered the pistachio and double chocolate croissant and some ham and cheese and bacon and cheese savory breads. The croissants were very pretty looking and they made it look so appetizing, and we liked munching on the savory breads as well, but I wish we had asked them to heat it up before we took a bite.The croissant fillings were really good, but the chocolate one could have just been a little more chocolaty it was a bit sugary to be honest though.But other than that, it's a really cute cafe and you got a bunch of really nice jams and breads on the counter as well. I would surely recommend everyone to try this place for sure.“

“Despite living in London for the past few years, I only recently tried out this place! This beautiful cafe is very conveniently located and is always busy. During peak times, it may be difficult to find a seat but they do open up fairly quickly. The service here is amazing, they’re super attentive and nice which is a big plus.In terms of their food, their cruffins are TO DIE FOR - I absolutely love them to death. They rotate their flavours and every single one I’ve had has been phenomenal. Admittedly, difficult to eat which the sugar coating on the croissant mixed with the custard inside but still so so good that it’s worth the mess. I do wish it was served warmed which would take it to the next level! The sandwiches are surprisingly good as well. My favourite is the ham and Swiss. It is very filling and I love how much they pack into the sandwich (especially how much Dijon they put in it hehe). In terms of the coffee, it was decent. I was expecting more bold flavours to come out and taste the richness but unfortunately I could not. Maybe I had too high of expectations for the coffee after tasting the pastries and food but regardless, it was still decent coffee.Overall though, this place is an amazing place to sit down, eat, read, study, and catch up with friends! I definitely will be coming back and trying more of their items :)“

“Wonderful, cozy but modern cafe. Best kept secret. Special menus for breakfast, lunch and treats all with a Dutch flavour. Will be excellent for small groups of 6 or so. Staff were fun to interact with.And their fair wage initiative is appreciated. We will be back many times.“

“So, we discovered Variety Cafe because we attended an art show opening for Bev Camp. Add ART to the things to love about this sweet place. It isn't our hood, so our visits may be somewhat infrequent, but we absolutely loved it and we will return. A great place to recommend for un poco cafecito with friends.“

“My new favourite bagel shop. They make their bagels fresh daily and this was the best lox and cream cheese bagel I have ever had - De-Lox Bagel. The coffee and smoothie were great too. The staff their were beyond exceptional. I came in with two young kids and they were patient and and so polite. This shop is so beautiful and cozy. My family and I will be coming back often.“

“My husband and I have been coming here for quite some time now. We come sometimes on Saturday AND Sunday because we love it so much. The drinks are always delicious and the baked goods are beyond amazing ! The breakfast items are also really good especially the breakfast burrito! Our absolute favourite baked goods are the tahini brownie and the pistachio orange cookie. The service is always excellent and everyone is always so friendly when we come in. We love coming here as our little treat on the weekends and cannot recommend it enough !“

“I loved the atmosphere of the Grace Bodega! my friend and I each had americano and a latte, shared spinach & artichoke dip and grilled cheese.Americano - its clean, with a light but substantial flavour, devoud of acidity made refreshing.spinach&artichoke - was little salty for us, the chips were amazing, but we could see bunch of salts all over the chips, we tried to get rid of some, but it was already stuck on the chips haha,, and the dip was sour and salty,, it could of been better if it was less salty! :)grilled cheese - was great! but small portionsoverall, store atmosphere was perfect, cozy and warm :) their service was great too! i love to try other menus next time :)!“

“great little gem for short study sessions + great treats!the coconut caramel latte i had was probably one of the best coffee drinks i've ever had!!!was very hesistant to come here as i've heard about the "no laptops" and "short visits only" tables but staff were very friendly about the policy - it's a great stop for a cafe hopping day :)- wifi + washrooms are great- lots of different seating and few outlets- decent lighting but the atmosphere was very cozy“

“My first time trying bagel sandwich at this establishment in London and it was a good experience.We tried their egg and cheese and sausage egg and cheese sandwiches. Both the sandwiches were fresh and tasted really good.I like that they have so many options for bagels to choose from. I tried their sesame seed bagel which was so soft and fresh. I also ordered hazelnut coffee which was good too.Service was great. The two ladies taking the orders were friendly.I highly recommend this place.“

“We ordered the California Croissant and Sicilian Sandwich for delivery. We also ordered a 6 pack of donuts to try out. The sandwiches were so fresh & delicious, we were very impressed. The donuts were the best we have ever eaten! We will definitely be choosing Boxcar again for lunches! Special mention for the great packing of the bag for delivery and we appreciated that the containers were paper!“

Although it's a lot smaller in size compared to the stores in Toronto, I have never had any issues finding what I want. Every time I visit, I have a conversation with a friendly employee, ask for recommendations based on my taste, and try some samples.
