“The steak was delicious. The extra hot plates ensure every bite was warm. We did a half order of mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and broccolini and that was enough for two people. Our server was very attentive so we enjoyed our meal. For dessert we tried cheesecake (excellent) and carrot cake (good but very sweet). Overall, a great experience.“

“Just when you think they can't raise their game any higher Hy's manages to find a way. We attended the Calgary locations 10th Anniversary Celebration on Sept 26th and it was spectacular. The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere. It was certainly the best evening we have at Hy's over the last decade, and I don't think I'm overstating it to say it was a "Once in a Lifetime" experience. A huge thankyou to Barb and the entire Hy's team!“

“Last time I was in, we had a server with a goatee who was not interested in our table or our experience. Usually this place is spot on with service but he was super subpar. Younger guy maybe late 30s early 40s with glasses too. He would pop by the table and say “you good?” And fifteen minutes later “more drinks?” And two of our steaks were undercooked and he never came back to check on them. I had to stand up and ask another server. This place is awesome but someone needs to know this guy was not up to Barberians standards that night. It was November 8th“

The atmosphere was classic steakhouse: dimly lit, lots of wood and leather chairs, plenty of space, small and intimate. Pre-dinner cocktails were delicious. Epic wine selection. Most importantly, the steak was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had. Cooked exactly as requested, flavourful and juicy. Sides were impeccable. “We had another memorable time at Blue Bovine this week prior to a concert. This was our 4th visit this year and we love everything about this beautiful restaurant. Amazing appetizers, sushis, mains, deserts, inspiring cocktails and impressive wine list. Service is attentive but discreet which is something we appreciate. Not perfect but we are all humans...Some extra points too for side table service for the profiteroles desert ! Last but not least, kudos to Executive Chef Sean for dropping by our table and asking our young daughter if she wanted something special prepared by the kitchen. In today's busy world, we unfortunately don't see such gestures anymore. This will only reinforce our loyalty towards Blue Bovine and continue to recommend it to friends.“
