“Absolutely amazing experience at Halibut House! The food was fresh, hot, and cooked perfectly. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender and flaky inside, and the poutine was delicious. The portions were generous and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and made sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant was also clean and had a comfortable atmosphere. Easily one of the best fish and chips spots I’ve been to,I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!“

“The staff is so incredibly friendly and educated on gluten free/celiac. They have a dedicated fryer for gluten free options. (Even gluten free dedicated condiments) Multiple items on the menu including gluten free donuts and funnel cake! The fish and chips are amazing, would never know they are gluten free! My boyfriend says the non gluten free is delicious as well. It’s now a must stop when I’m in the area. Again staff are so great good job to the new guy training Saturday you are doing a great job and had excellent customer service! We really enjoyed our experience all around a breath of fresh air to not have to worry about what I’m eating!“

“I knew the second I walked in the door it was going to be a phenomenal meal-from the warm greeting, and laughter from the staff, to where food service area is completely visible and orders are prepared in front of you. All the vegetables look perfectly fresh and all the dishes look incredible. The prices are low and the servings generous. And as expected the meal was delicious and fresh. 10/10 so happy I stopped in.“

“I tried The Brooklin Halibut House for breakfast. It is located close to two breakfast chain restaurants, so for a fish and chip speciality chain, the breakfast competition is tough.

I went for the low $5.95 special and was really pleased. Perfectly cooked, friendly, efficient service, top quality food, and the home fries were the best I have had in a long time. Hang, the owner, and his wife, are very pleasant and friendly as well.

I went back another time for breakfast with several family members. Same great food and service. And the hidden gem is that the breakfast menu is huge, with the same items as the nearby breakfast chains, at very competitive prices.

The place is spotless as well, including the washrooms. Great place overall.“

“I was plesantly surprised with this restaurant. I am always a bit hesitant with older restaurants like this, I worry about cleanliness and food quality. But I gave it a shot and I am happy I did. The service was great, everyone was friendly. I got the souvlaki dinner and it was delicious. Id say one of the top souvlaki dinners in Durham. The portions were huge, i took quite a bit home. Prices were standard for a meal like that. Overall really happy with the experience. Would come back! Thank you.“

“Great little place in 100 mile. Make a very good fish and chips. Nice light batter. Nice flakey cod and great home made fries. They make a very good tarter sauce as well. Very accommodating friendly staff. Definitely go back again. Worth the stop for some great food.“
