“We started going to this restaurant over 25 years ago and it is as good now as it was back then - which is excellent. All that has changed slowly is the staff and all as fine as anyone would expect.
The portions are large, the choices are broad and the beautiful decor is as as warm and inviting as ever. The star of this family restaurant, Jenny, is still in attendance but only on Friday nights 4pm to 7pm. We have to travel a fairly long distance but we'll have to make a special trip. One last thing, yes they still do excellent Mushy Peas and Scottish bread as a side order.“

“It's been a long time since I've been to Halibut House in Pickering, even though it's in my neighbourhood. On this visit, I had their Haddock Fish & Chips for only 12.99, as advertised on a poster in their front window.

It was a good sized piece of fish with a generous amount of chips and coleslaw. This was a really good meal with good flavour. This place gets bonus marks for providing full bottles of ketchup and tartar sauce instead of the little packets!

This restaurant was a corner location with high ceilings, big bright windows, and lots of space between tables. It was very clean, with friendly and efficient service. I'll definitely come back!“

“Pretty good take out spot for fish n chips!The interior is a little old, but doesn’t matter because it’s a take out spot anyway! Very friendly service/owner and the fish and chips are great!There are 2 spots inside if you’d like to eat in, but I think it’s meant to be a take out spot.I got the halibut fish and chips and enjoyed it. “We always do takeout and Jenny always makes sure you have everything you need and will point out the best way to order food to save money. The food is always cooked properly and steaming hot when we get home! Only fish and chips store we go to !“

“Overall, all a decent location of this chain chippy if a little smaller than other locations. I'm generally fine with this chain but personally prefer an independent fish and chip restaurant. This location had friendly enough staff and is pretty clean and well maintained. Decor is a bit clinical and seating is okay.

Had the Halibut & Chips and it was a fair cut of fish and a decent portion of chips.
