“Came for my lunch hour and I’m so happy I found this place near the school where I supply teach. I got a huge piece of fish for the Pollock Special. Crispy fish 🐟 with malt vinegar! 👍🏼

“This is a wonderful little place and it also doubles as a cafe. come check out his menu. he has things that are not on the menu as well. If William is there ask him what authentic Chinese food he has available, you won't be disappointed!“

“Really enjoyed their halibut fish and chips.
Didn’t get a chance to try their haddock so not sure if it’s worth the ~$5 premium but I loved my dish and would definitely go back when in the area and recommend it to others in the area too.
The dining area is relatively small as they only have 2 tables so I’d consider this primarily a takeout establishment but I was lucky to get a seat and enjoy mine fresh.
The lady was kind and took my order over the phone so I didn’t have to wait long to get it was I was in a bit of a rush too.“

“We lost our old fish and chips place and I can’t stand the ‘chain’ versions. I’ve been hunting for a replacement in Durham….and found it!
There were super fast and friendly but more importantly the fish and chips are awesome (even taking home to eat)
The coleslaw is the classic style my wife and a must have with pepper.

“Cod, chips and coleslaw. A big slab of fish with light and crispy breading. The thick cut fries also come in a pretty good portion. As well as a respectable sized coleslaw on the side. I'd say you're getting your moneys worth.
They have plenty of options and combos for haddock, cod, hake, and halibut. Though I didn't order them today, I highly recommend trying their P.E.I. mussels. They also have a selection of cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory! There are lots of comparable fish and chips places in the area. But Halibut House is my favourite for sure.
The staff was very friendly and great at conversation. Very happy with the food, price and service.“

“Jeny was our waitress, her smiley face, & polite & speedy service. Jeny was very attentive. We ordered the Sunday Halibut special, 1 massive piece of Halibut, fries, & coleslaw. Mmmmm, it was amazing. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. The place looks great. It is a great place to eat with good prices.“

“Best fish and chips we’ve had! The batter was light and flakey and not greasy at all!
The restaurant itself is super cute inside, with a really welcoming atmosphere.
