“I’ve been coming here at least 1-2 times a week, and I can easily say they have the best, most fresh, and most reasonably-priced sushi in Ottawa! The owners are very nice and welcoming, they always greet every customer with a smile. ?I got the platters for a birthday party, which were a hit with the guests.I’ve never seen salmon and tuna this fresh in Ottawa. I usually go for the specialty rolls or tacos. “Bridgehead on Wellington West is a reasonably large location with ample people watching opportunities (if that is your thing).The staff here are attentive and welcoming which lends to a good experience when you visit.With plenty of seating, you can almost always be sure to find a spot to sit and enjoy your coffee/tea/whatever.The age old question at this location is: which bathroom key is the most popular? The spoon, or the scoop? (there is a free undergrad sociology paper for someone)“

“Not many places im a regular at, this place is amazing - I come here every week for a breakfast sandwich and a mollases spice latte. Price is incredibly fair ! Sandwich is perfection! and service is always quick! Price difference between a small latte and large is so close i always get the bigger one, they make their own syrups & they are so good. The girls who work here are always super friendly and smile when I come in! I also love that they have water that isself-serve, I have a routine - order, drink a big glass of water - orders ready. Its the best. Super convenient location! Same positive experience at their bank street location ♡ keep it up!“

“I’ve been dreaming about visiting Luxe Blooms Flower Cafe since they opened, I finally drove over four hours to this little gem. It has such a unique concept, and I absolutely love the heart behind it. The drinks were fantastic — delicious, just as I’d imagined. The service was warm and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable.

That said, there’s room for improvement in the upkeep of the space. While I love the idea and the vibe of the place, the cafe itself is starting to show some wear and tear. The pink floor could use a redo, as there’s some paint splatter on the laminate, and the pink chairs are worn. It’s clear a lot of love has been put into this place, but it’s starting to look a little tired. I’d love to see some attention given to refreshing the space so that it can match the beauty and charm of the drinks and the concept behind it.

It would be super nice if the gluten free cookies were separate from the rest of them (like on a plate or something) and served with separate utensils so celiacs can eat them! But genuinely my favourite place to go for coffee :)“

This may seem like an odd thing to say, but it was really great that they made sure they rented an accessible portable washroom for their large market event. As I was sporting crutches (I recently broke my ankle), it was a total life saver that I didn’t need to take the stairs! Not sure if the port-a-potty is an “always” thing, but just the fact that they had it for their street market when so many folks wouldn’t even think of it made me grateful. Thank you for being the loveliest hosts! I’m not a coffee or tea drinker, but I’ll certainly tell all my friends about how kind the staff were!“

“Delicious gourmet donuts and coffee, what a delicious pairing. We tried the apple fritter donut and the sugar topped donut. Donuts would benefit from being a bit warmer, but they were both delicious with the apple fritter being the star of the show. You can get their coffee beverages either hot or cold and they do have cream, milk, and honey to add on the side. Cute pew seating and bright cafe makes for a great place to go to catch up with friends or read a book (when less busy).“

It was creamy and not too sweet, though the flavor was a bit mild for my taste. My friend had the mixed berry but was hoping for a more tart flavor. “A secret coffee shop under a church. Beautiful spot. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and it was very quiet. Nice place to hide, study, read. I loved the furniture and the big open space.

While we were there, a wedding was taking place in the church overhead. So we heard organ music and people walking down the aisle.

They sell a few pastries. We didn't have lunch while there, and I'd be curious to go back and try it. They also sell roseries and other catholic doodads.“

“Thimble Cakes is an eclectic bakery that offers vegan ice cream and a variety of baked goods. I had two cupcakes: carrot cake and brookie. For being gluten-free, both were incredibly moist. Also, the frosting on top was creamy and light. I would definitely return for some ice cream or anything from their extensive amount of baked goods.“

“In life, we walk through many doors. But if there’s one door all of us should walk through, it is the red door of Red Door Provisions. Excellent espresso, delicious and unique lattes, and a fantastic selection of food and alcohol provisions. But the menu item that reigns above all is the Dad Bod sandwich. Someday, I will paint all the doors to my home red, in the hopes that I too could capture the magic of the Dad Bod sandwich and Red Door coffee myself.“

It is a pleasant surprise for me to find a “new” place that’s been around a while.
I noted Tom’s energy and passion for what he does. And Salyna rounded out the experience with her warm and inclusive demeanour. They make an amazing team.
Great house roasted coffee. Assorted house baked goods. An intimate patio. And a short walk to Commissioner’s Park (Tulip Festival) and Dow’s Lake.

“I loved this bridgehead - this was the best service I've had at a coffee shop. This spot is a nice place to study too!! They had delicious treats, but we got a regular hot chocolate and a small skimmed latte. The staff was super nice, and while the small latte was really tiny, the drinks were delicious.. “It seems to be the best value for money in expensive Ottawa. I heard from a local that they conquered Canada at a low price during the coronavirus pandemic. And I was surprised that it opened very early in the morning. There were so many people that I had to wait in line, but I never thought it would be like this. I also enjoyed a simple breakfast of latte and maple donuts, feeling like a local. I usually don't eat sweets, but since I'm in Canada, I was craving something with maple syrup, and since I was on a business trip, my sugar level kept dropping, so I raised my blood sugar in the morning.“
