“There used to be a pho place in Toronto that I loved until it closed down 7 years ago. Since then, I could not find a pho place that I liked... until today. You can really taste the care Mama Mai puts into its dishes. The pho broth is very clear, and flavorful, without being too salty. Their fish sauce is the perfect combination of sweet and sour, with pickled cabbage and carrots in side it for an extra special touch. Their coconut coffee is a delicious refreshing treat, with a perfect balance of creaminess to that signature strong viet coffee. I am happy to add Mama Mai to my regular rotation of restaurants when ever I visit Ottawa.“

“So friendly here. Gives a very small town vibe and was nice seeing all the regulars come in. Sitting outside is nice too, lovely seeing all of the dog walkers walking by. Keep in mind there is no wifi but it is a lovely place to sit and read or journal or chat!“

“Hi T is certainly high tea—minus the unnecessary fluff. The Strawberry Matcha Bingsu is this summer's quintessential refresher-dessert hybrid. A bowl of this icy blend will set you (and another, if your big back allows) right. The salty red bean carousel cuts into the candied strawberries so they both finesse with flair and flavour, but the matcha snow's earthiness started to get too aromatic after a few bites—it's like being at Sephora after spritzing seven tester perfumes. But if that's your cup of T, it might feel closer to sinking into a sakura ice bath. Go figure.“

“We got the tempura shrimp wanpaku sandwich and the turkey club sandwich, both were SO fresh and delicious. They make the sandwich in front of you, so they are super fresh!

The drink is a strawberry latte (there’s no coffee in it). There are chunks of fresh strawberries, not too sweet!

The cabbages were marinated and there is some wasabi in the sauce as well, which makes it taste very fresh!

“Wonderful, inclusive folks! Very nice staff, who were very helpful. This may seem like an odd thing to say, but it was really great that they made sure they rented an accessible portable washroom for their large market event. As I was sporting crutches (I recently broke my ankle), it was a total life saver that I didn’t need to take the stairs! Not sure if the port-a-potty is an “always” thing, but just the fact that they had it for their street market when so many folks wouldn’t even think of it made me grateful. Thank you for being the loveliest hosts! I’m not a coffee or tea drinker, but I’ll certainly tell all my friends about how kind the staff were!“

“I’ve been coming here at least 1-2 times a week, and I can easily say they have the best, most fresh, and most reasonably-priced sushi in Ottawa! The owners are very nice and welcoming, they always greet every customer with a smile. ?I got the platters for a birthday party, which were a hit with the guests.I’ve never seen salmon and tuna this fresh in Ottawa. I usually go for the specialty rolls or tacos. I love the variety of the menu and how filled the tacos are.Highly recommend using their Google form to order since it’s quick, easy to use, and has all the menu items on there.“

“I had the bacon grilled cheese sandwich and I had it when it cooled down, I found it really good and I'd buy one again. I had some small talk with the staff while I waited for the sandwich and they were polite and friendly.

The place is small and tucked away so I feel it's better as a grab and go type of place. It's also close to Parliament Station, Bank street and Elgin Street, so it isn't hard to get here or grab something on the go. There is some space to sit and eatr too.“

“I love this place so much! Their food is amazing. They have the best falafel in the city. I have eaten their food a few times. And recently my work had them cater our lunches for 3 days in row. Each day the food was different and so delicious. And we got a lot of food each day! You can tell they make their food with pride and love. I highly recommend the place.“

I’m not sure if he’s the owner or part of the management but the care he shows to delivery drivers is beyond words. He’s by far my biggest tipper. We rarely ever see tips like this. “On a drizzly day in Ottawa, Happy Goat Coffee provide an experience akin to a warm hug. I ordered a large dripped coffee and settle into a o so comfortable couch at the back. There was a steady stream of customers, many of whom are regulars as they staff greeted by name. One person asked to join me at the single couch’s and when I said yes, she shared that it was her favourite place in the coffee shop. This confirmed for me that this is a great third place for gathering in the neighbourhood.“

Cafe Delice is my new favorite escape from reality — partly because of the amazing coffee, and partly because the baristas look like they walked out of a fashion magazine. Two beautiful ladies behind the bar? Check. A handsome barista with charm and latte art skills? Double check.

I came in for a cappuccino and left with a full heart and slightly unrealistic romantic expectations.

The vibe is cozy, the espresso is smooth, and the staff could easily start a modeling agency on the side. 10/10 would let them judge my coffee order again.“
