The spicy chicken burrito was a flavor explosion, and the chicken quesadillas were BOMB! Andrew was our excellent server who was pleasant and friendly despite having worked all day. He was very attentive and saw to all our requests in a timely manner. Too much for me but as the cod was thick it reheated in airfryer the next day beautifully. Now my favorite go to for fish and chips in Hamilton. I want to amend this to say there are new owners as of 2025 and they have changed the menus. This review was from previous owner.“

We tried the lentil soup, butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala, along with the chicken samosas and garlic chili naan. The food was absolutely stellar! Probably the best lentil soup and tikka masala I’ve ever had. Service was very kind and friendly. Only thing I would say needs improvement is the atmosphere in their modest dine-in space. They only just opened a dine-in area recently (they were predominantly a takeaway) so I’d cut them a bit of slack. There’s a tv on the wall but it was off. No music. It was so quiet we could hear other people chewing across the room. Play some music, and offer ice for the lukewarm water, and this place would be 5 stars. Give them a try!“

“Had a fantastic dinner at Amaua Burlington tonight. This was the best Indian food I have ever had and I have travelled all over India. The fish curry, tamarind eggplant coconut rice, cauliflower appetizer, garlic Naan all of this you must try. Delicious.

The waitress who works here, I don’t know her name, but she is absolutely amazing. She is just THE sweetest person you’ll ever meet. She restores my faith in humanity everytime I come here. The food is always incredible, always tasty, fresh and full of flavour. There’s a handful of vegan options, the onion bhajis are my absolute favourite and I have the utmost faith and trust in Prince Of India when it comes to the knowledge of food restrictions, they ask how spicy you want your dish (mild, medium or spicy) and they really do give great sized portions. You even get a discount on your meal when you dine in, which is such a nice bonus. I recommend Prince Of India to everyone I talk to, quite literally. “Probably a 3.5 Star experience, but I rounded up because I was feeling nice.

The service was average (3 star) and there was room for improvement. Servers stay off your phones, don't hover around tables when you have nothing to do, and it would go a long way to have someone seat you at a table instead of the bartender yelling across the dining room to go sit anywhere.

Food was also average (3 star) as the chicken sandwich was good, the side of fries were absolutely inedible. Frozen crinkle cut fries that were still hard in the middle and greasy on the outside with absolutely no crisp. It was as if they put the fries in oil at a low temperature and pulled them out way too early. And the gravy was more in line with an au jus than a thick gravy you can dip into. You can see that the focus is definitely on the sandwiches and chicken. Also had the Deep Fried Deviled Eggs as an app, and I would say they helped you keep out of the two star rating...they were a pretty good app.

Atmosphere was good (4 star) since it was exactly what I would have expected and was in line with the menu, pricing, and overall vibe...not trying to be something they aren't while also mot letting the place run down and become another greasy dive bar.

Overall, not a bad experience, and I would be fine to go back...just probably pass on the fries and stick to just a sandwich or something else.“

“What a perfect hidden gem. We had just visited the RBG and were looking for somewhere to grab a bite for lunch. Scanning Google Maps, I found this café. I was so happy as our local ones have closed up and it was always a favourite for us. We ordered a sandwich to go as we chose to eat outside since we were travelling with our dogs. There are plenty of picnic tables outside with beautiful views of the harbour. The interior dining room looked so cozy with plenty of booths and a fireplace. The staff were lovely, and when they heard we were splitting dessert, they cut it nicely in half. I've added this to my map as a place to visit again when in the area.“
