“Even tho its a takeout place. The aesthetics are really appealing. The sushi and sashimi I’ve gotten so far (been buying for nearly 2 years) has been fresh and no strong smells. The packaging seems to changes seasonly so it not always the same so thats fun too. Staff are also quite friendly and will tell you if they can or not produce the order. I’ve had places tell me yes and when its pick up time, its “out of stock now”“

“This place consistently delivers delicious torched sushi! It's a unique, anime-themed mom-and-pop sushi shop that's a rare hole in the wall. I love their assorted platters for parties - it' always a crowd favourite especially for kids. The portions are generous and the flavours are so delicious. My favourites are the aburi shrimp oishi and aburi salmon nambulite.

I used to live in this neighbourhood and have since moved away. Every time I'm back in the area I hit this place up!“

“I always get their 40 or 60 piece assorted trays and they're always really good and pretty fresh. Also close to home and accessible.“

“A small sushi takeout place. They offer most of the popular sashimi, sushi and maki rolls. Decent food quality, very nice presentation as always. If you plan to try it during the weekend, advance order is recommended as there are always many orders in the queue.“

“I've been frequenting this place for a few months now, and the chicken teriyaki wrap is verifiably one of the best things that I love to grab on the way home! The food is always delicious for an extremely good price and the cook is very sweet and always prepares them with care. I know it's too much to wish that she never retires and this place never closes but I will treasure every meal I can get from here until that time comes!!“

“Tried Kitaya Japanese Takeout and grabbed three drinks: the Matcha Candy Latte, Tiramisu Brûlée Latte, and a Hot Yuzu Honey Tea.

Honestly, the Matcha Candy Latte was super tasty, smooth and it is a bit overly sweet for me personally, really good matcha flavour. The Yuzu Honey Tea was also lovely, super comforting and refreshing at the same time.

The Tiramisu Brûlée Latte didn’t really do it for me though, I was hoping for more of that dessert-y tiramisu or brûlée flavour, but mostly just got the espresso (which was decent, to be fair).

Overall, two out of three drinks were great, and I’d definitely come back to try more from the menu! 💞 🍵“

“The owners are super sweet and friendly. I've heard such great things about their handrolls and gave it a try. They were definitely delicious, most importantly the salmon reacher the bottom!!! Also ordered a tray and the quality and cleanliness was there. The shop is tucked away in the back of the second floor or Lagham. Well worth the walk though!!! Especially, for these prices. Affordable. Tasty.“
