Their Nasi Lemak is a must-try when they sell it as Friday Specials
A must try restaurant of Asian Fusion food that would drive you crazy by the delicious taste of the food here. They serve great Hong Kong style westernized food, and with some other Asian signature dishes. My favorite are the Hainan chicken on rice, Curry fish head vermicelli and sometimes they serve Nasi Lemak (an signature Malaysian's dish that served with coconut rice and curry chicken) which is really tasty!!!!!

Best Nasi Lemak & Char Kway Teo in Toronto! After my trip to Malaysia I fell in love with Malaysian food. I've tried many Malaysian restaurants since then both in Toronto and in other countries, and I must say I keep coming back to Canteen. The flavouring is incredible. The staff are also so nice, accommodating, and the menu is so well priced. This is a MUST try if you like Malaysian food

The Canteen offers delicious Asian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Their Chicken dish is highly recommended for its tasty ginger garlic oil. The Cha Kwetiau is well-seasoned with generous toppings and strong wok flavor. The Nasi Lemak might not be as flavorful as expected, but is super spicy, even for a Malaysian. The sambal stands out with its lingering spiciness. The Char Kway Teow noodles have a smoky taste with a strong soy sauce flavor. The Fish Head Curry is rich, creamy, and slightly spicy.
The restaurant provides quick and friendly service. Customers have noted that the food is flavorful and fresh, with popular dishes including beef steak and pork cutlet, which come as combos with soup of the day and drink. The Asam Laksa is passable, with hopes for a stronger broth. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, making it a great place to enjoy a meal and chat.
The Malay chao gui diao and nasi lemak combo that comes with a soup of the day and a drink is amazing. The seafood wat tan hor fun brings back memories from Singapore. The food is truly a hidden gem, with every dish being fresh and perfectly cooked. The service is friendly, and the prices are extremely reasonable.
