We had a wonderful afternoon tea experience at The Victoria Cafe, King Eddy. If you're looking for a traditional British experience, this place is one of the few in the city that offer it. Came to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. We have been to many afternoon teas from London, Paris, NYC, Boston and across Toronto, have to say this is one of the best experiences we’ve had. Service was great, but all the components of our meal was amazing. Note that the scones were the best we’ve had! Sous chef Elaine Wong took her time to explain each item and was such a gracious host. My family and I came to have tea and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary. The creativity of Chef Elaine was impressive and their signature scones were outstanding. She came out and spoke with my family and made sure we had great experience. Exceptional hospitality! Our server Dave was friendly and took good care of us during our entire meal. Will be back.

The food receives mixed feedback. Many find it absolutely amazing, delicious, and thoughtfully presented. Specific praise is given for the savory pastries, the mini Beef Wellington, and the scones, which are described as soft, incredibly flavorful, really good, not dry, and possibly the best ever. Clotted cream is served. The sweets offer good variety. However, some feel the food is just OK, with items sometimes compared to pricey grocery hors d'oeuvres rather than restaurant quality, and sandwiches can have dry bread.
The atmosphere can vary; one visit was in a large, open, high-ceiling room likened to a cafeteria or ballroom, which was not preferred. The experience is considered pricey but good for celebrating something special and well worth the cost for many, who plan to return.
