“Our first time here and it was fantastic! This is definitely a wonderful place to go for a date night. My husband and I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere, drinks and food. Its a cute little spot off pellisier, away from the noisy busy streets. Hidden away with a beautiful open air patio. The drinks were one of a kind. Our server recommended a few drinks as im not a huge cocktail fan. I had the gin tonica and omggg it was so refreshing!! Then I tried the pompello and while that one was a bit strong for my liking, it was a nice drink. The food is also very good. The oysters were super fresh and paired with a variety of hot sauces and vinaigrettes. The beef tartare was nice as well. I do prefer the beef tartares in the US but this was a nice option. The burrata was super soft and seasoned very well. And finally we had their new dish the tuna (kind of like a carpacio). I enjoyed it very much with the rice crackers they came with. The service was beyond amazing. Super friendly, very knowledgeable and kind. We will be coming again!“

“Excellent food. Just so impressed! We came in on a Sunday evening with a 3 and 1 year old and sat outside on the back patio. We got the Sunday roast special that came with a fois gras appetizer, whole chicken (different from the menu chicken), and an olive oil cake. In addition to that since we had 5 people and 2 little ones, we also got the sourdough bread and the croquetas de jamon. Every single food item was DELICIOUS. The croquetas were so unique and less heavy than normal croquettes. The dry aged steak was 30oz and fed all of us alongside the Sunday chicken special, which was a whole chicken. Both were perfectly cooked, the steak rub was great. The chicken was as perfectly tender. Keep in mind because of the size of the steak, it did take almost an hour to arrive. My only complaint is that there were actually a lot of young kids and even babies out on the back patio, but they have no high chairs or booster seats or kids cups for water. They do however have a grassy area that the kids walked around in while we waited for the food. As for the wine, they of course have a huge selection from all over the world and the recommendations from the server were great, both $80 each. Wish we’d gotten the servers name, but I missed it. She was lovely though!“

“Wow. What an absolutely fantastic final dinner of 2023! After we managed to find a late dinner reservation for New Year's Eve, it was a relief to discover that our excitement about the tasting menu was well-placed. I would definitely recommend the drink pairings as well! The amuse-bouche featuring oysters from the West and East coasts was a delightful way to splash into the meal. The wasabi and the mangosteen featured in each of the oysters, respectively, complimented the beautiful brine of the oysters in such a wonderfully playful way. This first tasting urged us to pause the menu progression and order an extra dozen oysters to explore the other possibilities. Tasting from Vancouver to Prince Edward Island, they were beautifully prepared and of excellent quality. The first course of lobster salad felt like a summer in Maine. Not that I've ever been to Maine, but the imaginary scene flashed across my vision as I took that first refreshing bite. The grapefruit emulsion worked almost majestically with the light, refreshing flavor of the lobster salad. The tapioca chip was perfect for the crunch to fully bring the different elements of the dish together. A fascinating intersection of refreshment and comfort. The second course was the potato pavé. I'll be thinking of this potato often for the foreseeable future. It was one of those dishes that makes your eyes pop open a bit when you bite it as you realize how good it is. A beautifully layered and seared rectangle of flaky delicious potato resting with a lovely salsa brava speckled with trout roe, topped with tarragon, cured trout, and black truffle flakes. I don't even know what else to say. It was stunning. Sea urchin buttered ramen, the third course, will always be what I wish my at-home thrown-together ramen could be. It was rich, it was luscious, it was comforting. Growing up in southeast Texas, crawfish boils were always some of the most exciting times of the year. The crawfish tails in the ramen brought me back to those summer days eating crawfish with a cold beer. The duck breast for the fourth course was exceptionally cooked. It was juicy and flavorful and made a perfect bite with a bit of cauliflower, raisins, apricot, agrodolce, and foie-sauce. Each bite was such a symphony of flavor that kept me coming back. Last but absolutely not least was the gâteau ardéchois: the chestnut cream cake. Accompanied by cranberry coulis and crispy meringue bites, this dessert was a sweet but still mellow finish. While the coffee mascarpone ice cream was a robust and complementary flavor, we both agreed the vanilla coconut ice cream was the star between the two. Thank you again to the stellar crew at Mink! “We celebrated our 19th anniversary here and had a wonderful experience. We chose the tasting menu with the accompanying wine flight, and every course was very good. The gnocchi entrée was a standout—the aromas were incredible and left us wanting more. We also ordered cocktails, and my husband especially enjoyed the Last Call and Wayward Sun. A memorable dinner and a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.“

“I visited this past Valentine’s Day weekend and visited again this past Saturday night. I didn’t have a reservation but still got seated very quickly. It was a hot, muggy night and the hostess said she had a seat on the patio which I was fine with. I had a magnificent server, Florence, who was kind, thoughtful to recommend a drink to the person I was with and even when our drinks were brought out within a short time, apologized for the delay (which wasn’t necessary). I wish I could give a review on the party next to us because they were extremely rude, not only not giving consideration to others being on the patio but were also incredibly rude to Florence. One woman in particular was grandstanding in front of this group and demanded to speak to a manager. Florence and the Manager were both composed and dignified in spite of a rude patron that was looking to get her bill comped (for a party of nearly a dozen people) going so far as to threatening to have everyone at her table write a terrible review. I have worked in the service industry and so have so many people I know and love so this situation had me worked up and I felt it necessary to write a review that our experience was magnificent. Don’t be an a-hole to servers of any kind just because you’re an a-hole yourself. If you give respect, you get respect. Go to The Sugar House. Be a good customer.“
