“Outstanding food, great service, extremely cozy (maybe 2 dozen seats?). Started with a variety of oysters (the housemade kimchi was excellent), followed by tinned tuna belly with their housemade briny jardiniere, ending with maybe the best lobster roll I've ever had (no mayo, some chili oil heat) and perfectly prepared broccolini. The broccolini was actually on the tasting menu but they were generous enough to make it as a standalone side for us because we wanted to experience enough other things. Can't say enough good things about our dinner. Cocktails and dessert were really good too, though the dinner was on a level above.“
“Enjoyed our visit here with our friends! We all had a good time, with good drinks! I enjoyed my drink with the name Belvedere in it, I can't remember the full name and my husband enjoyed the Old Fashion. They were delicious! Service was good, and our bartenders were very knowledgeable and helpful. The ambiance has a nice speakeasy lounge feel. Looking forward to going back to enjoy some wine!“
“OMG Dave and Amelia are the best mixologist duo. Hubby and I came across Two Birds on google and were impressed with the reviews and photos. Our first visit was nothing short of amazing filled with luxurious and herbaceous cocktails. The atmosphere and vibes in Two Birds was very refreshing. Mature crowd, great music, tasty drinks. We will definitely be coming back as regulars to this establishment. Cheers and Happy Holidays!Tasha & Chad“
“Server Chad was great. They need a broiler so they can do blue cheese over their steaks. Steaks quite overpriced. Wine list and liquor selection were exceptional. Very cool vibe, it’s like you’re in an underground wine library. Multiple mistakes with our orders but we were comped and the experience overall was great enough for me to go back and give them another try.“
“Great wine selection and exceptional food! Menu changes often but on my first visit almost all the dishes on the menu were gluten free. I don't think you can overstate how good the food is. Also try the Serbian skin contact wines. Very good.Dietary restrictions: Almost every dish on the menu was gluten free. The menu does change often but both the wait staff and the chef were very knowledgeable about which dishes were gluten free.“
“We initially went with friends at lunchtime but left because the wait for a table was >30 min. Went back at a quieter time and got right in. All the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. I ordered a pastrami and rye (reubens are on the menu, but not pastrami and rye) with a side of horsey sauce. Delightful!!! Enjoyed observing the kitchen staff prepping food right next to where we sat, they seem to like working with each other. Could be a noisy place when busy. Will be back!!!“
“Having only been to this establishment twice it's a bit of a toss up.Awesome ambiance, great drinks, but so-so on the customer service front. My party was roughly nine minutes late for our reservation and upon entering the hostess had noted she was about to give us a courtesy call (which I thought was cool but perhaps a bit overkill as I had just confirmed via text that we'd be there for our reservation). Not even ten seconds after that we were informed by the same hostess there was a "15 topper" coming in after us which in turn made me feel like we needed to get our drinks and move along with haste. I don't expect a warm embrace at a bar, but having an experience as opposed to be moved like cattle is a welcome feeling.Lastly, in a weird turn of events our server was a mixed bag as our waters stayed consistently full we never received our popcorn.“
“Ordered via door dash while staying at a hotel in Detroit and it was hands down, the best Italian food I’ve had! Menu was small, but so flavorful. We had the ✨homemade meatballs, ✨chicken parm pasta, ✨ house salad with house dressing, and ✨ sausage banana pepper pizza. Very impressed and would definitely eat here again!“
“Run here!! Their small plates are amazing, I had one of my favorite meals...ever... here! We got the calamar a la parilla, calamares fritos, gambas al aijillo, and steak con mojo. The calamar a la parilla is the best thing hands down. It was grilled to perfection, the texture was the right kind of bite, and the aioli paired with it perfectly, after trying we immediately ordered a second. The shrimp is also super good with a great spice balance, and a tasty sauce that is worth every dip into it. Their wine selection is also so vast it's great, the staff was super friendly, and the food came out very fast even though they were packed on a Friday night. I can't recommend this place enough!“
“We had an absolutely fantastic experience here for a wine tasting. The cheese board was lovely and all of the wines we tasted were delicious. Our host was phenomenal and we truly enjoyed the entire experience. The space was cozy and inviting and well decorated.“
“Very quaint cafe on the corner. I wanted to try the vegan crunch wrap and it exceeded my expectations. My husband was a little put off by the "hipster-ness" but he was also impressed with his waffle breakfast. I would not recommend the crunch wrap as a to-go item just because the chips on the second half started to get soggy by the time I finished the first half. It would be a good thing to split with someone for this reason as well. We went on a weekday so it wasn't busy, but it's nice that they have reservations online for busier days.Vegetarian options: They may only have a few vegetarian/vegan options but they're actually interesting and well madeDietary restrictions: They had a few gluten free options“
“I stopped in for the 1rst time Superbowl Sunday & enjoyed a fried turkey chop dinner w brussel sprouts & fries. Surprisingly delicious., I'll b back for 2nds soon. The staff was great w good positive energy & the music & sound system was bumping. Definitely good times happening on the Eastside of Detroit.“
“This spot was recommended to me from a server at a really great restaurant called Ima Izakaya down the block, and it didn’t disappoint. We got lucky and came on a Jazz night hosted every third Saturday of the month with The Jesse Kramer Trio, and we had a great time. Great music, ambiance, wine and friendly staff - We’ll definitely come back when I’m in Detroit.“
“Jon helped us valet park ( we have a lifted truck and cannot fit in parking garages ), instructions to the restaurant were easy, D'Angelo was attentive, kind , suggestive , and positive. Our food was hot , perfect, well worth the cost. What a beautiful view , right Detroits Riverfront ! Great date night . Live music. Amazing all together and amazing service ! We will be back !“
“I love this place, however, it is been abnormally hot, and normally this is a good place to buy wine, however, I would be very suspect buying any wine from their right now because it is so hot in the airport. All of their wine is likely damaged. What's worse is that I was looking at buying the Harlan estate bottle, and this is likely trashed at this point.“
“The Trolly Room has great food and even better service! My husband and I came to eat here after an event ended and didn’t realize the kitchen closed in 10 minutes. The wait staff was welcoming, helpful, and didn’t try to rush us. My husband and I both ordered the club sandwich with fries and it was delicious! We would definitely visit again!“
“This is an extraordinary place to try a 5 course menu. I was very full qt the end but it was worth it.The place also looks fancy with a city twist and I love itThe bone marrow dish was a little too fatty for my taste, but the duck was my favorite“
