“My friends and I decided there’s no better way to spend St. Paddy's day weekend in downtown Detroit than a ride on the pedal bike. We were so right and had the best time! Omar was our driver and he was great! He had some fun drinking games for us to play on our ride and overall brought an awesome energy to the experience. He was also our photographer at all our stops!“
“I just have to GUSH about my experience with Time Will Tell! I recently held a Birthday Party there, and it was everything I had hoped for and more! From the jump, Jake, who I worked with to plan, was flexible, helpful, and communicative. They allowed me to bring in approved catering, my own sound, and even a drag queen! Everyone loved the cocktails and mocktails, as well as the picture perfect aesthetics. I also cannot give enough kudos to the staff! They were super attentive to everyone and helpful to mostly first-time visitors. Cannot recommend enough for a drink or special event!“
“Friendly staff. Good selection of tasty sliders, each sold separately so you can try a variety. Average 4 sliders per adult. Fries were fabulous. As you're eating you'll find that you will add a couple more sliders to your tab before you ask to cash out. Beer was cold. Back patio with a bar in case there's a wait. Weekends are very busy, but worth the slider experience.“
“Brought some friends here after seeing the Oscar Shorts at DIA. It was their first time and they were delighted. The menu is so different and the food so good, we ended up over ordering because there were so many things to try. Small plates make it easy to try things. And the cocktails are particular creative and delicious. Visually, it's such fun and the vibe is warm and friendly. I've been here for brunch, too, which is delicious.“
“I haven't been out in a while so my daughter recommended this place I I went in a I paid 100dollars for a couple of tables! I was later approached bye a young lady and was told we had to spend at least 200 dollars for drinks and we were only at 80 dollars! Then I was told! She thought we booked online! I felt really uncomfortable! But I loved the loved the Live band !“
“This place has a cool atmosphere and good vibes. The food is great and there’s many choices to pick from. I really enjoy the unique Thai Classics at Bangkok 96 and the fresh made ice cream that they have. Staff is super awesome and very friendly. this place will be the spot to be at in the summertime months, enjoying both the inside and outside atmosphere“
“Exceptional, one of my favorite places in the world.Already on the outside there is a 'wow effect'...but what about the inside? This place not only immerses us in a sumptuous era but also brings a special atmosphere. The service is exceptional. The prices are absolutely fair, and it's great.“
“Buddy's pizza is definitely at the top of Detroit style pizza. It's not overly thick and has great flavor throughout. The toppings are fresh and they let you do half and half in their large ones. The special seasoned sauce really seals the deal on the pizza and is free to add as a substitute for their original sauce. The wings were okay, but really small for the price. Probably wouldn't order those again. OThe waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and definitely helped us make informed decisions about the pizza. I would definitely recommend Buddy's and will eat there again.“
“The chef's tasting menu is where it's at. There are some staples we look forward to but there's always delicious surprises too.Vegetarian options: I've only ever done the chef's menu which is selected for you. It means things come that are off the menu which adds more variety than what's listed.“
“Great selection on NY style pizza, pizza and delicious appetizers. We built our own halal pepperoni pizza and had bruschetta. They offer halal pepperoni and halal chicken. Bruschetta was delicious but pizza was a bit too greasy but the taste was really good. Our waiter was really nice and tried hard to cheer us up after a long weekday.“
“OMG Dave and Amelia are the best mixologist duo. Hubby and I came across Two Birds on google and were impressed with the reviews and photos. Our first visit was nothing short of amazing filled with luxurious and herbaceous cocktails. The atmosphere and vibes in Two Birds was very refreshing. Mature crowd, great music, tasty drinks. We will definitely be coming back as regulars to this establishment. Cheers and Happy Holidays!Tasha & Chad“
“This is a great spot for a quick drink and bite before dinner. They have NA drink options for those trying to stay clear from booze, but that still want to sip on a nicely crafted cocktail. The staff is very friendly and will definitely make sure you get exactly what you want.“
“They had two N/A cocktails, one N/A beer, and several sparkling water options! I would recommend the High Vibrations N/A cocktail, very gingery and great for sipping while still being delicious. The Phone Negroni is a bottle N/A cocktail that I've seen at other places, it is tasty, but you're missing out a bit on the cocktail-being-made-in-front-of-you experience. Thanks for having great N/A options!“
“Really cute bar with incredible service. I stopped here on a visit from out of town and I really liked the vibe. Steve was our bartender and he was one of my favorite parts of visiting- really welcoming and enjoyable conversation. I'm unsure if there is food since I stopped in late but the bar was full service and the people were great“
“Never missed a St. Patty's Day Celebration yet. Going on 20 years. On the Historic Registry. Live music on the weekends. Friendly people all around. Every now and then, you'll see the original owner Nancy having a drink with old friends. Great history, great city and sports.Parking: Now owned by Steven's Family and doing a great job.“
“Stopped in after a wonderful concert at Orchestra Hall. #herbiehancockOur seats were delightful. Inviting and cleanly. Our food was fabulous. The atmosphere lively. The front hostess was friendly and accommodating. And last but not least there was our server Peyton! He's the man. Polite and transparent. Great communication and knowledge of the brand. So friendly and a delightful personality.Bob and Terri say go in and ask for Peyton. He's our man. Thank you for making our experience a fabulous one. Now on our Detroit faves list of places to have a bite, relax and to enjoy the city.“
“Cosmic Burrito truck had great food, excellent service and staff who was very attentive to your needs. I had them for my daughters graduation party this Friday and all the guests love the burritos offered. Food was fresh and tasty, the staff including Pablo was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this food truck to anyone. Awesome experience!! Thank you Pablo and crew!“
“We strongly recommend you try Buddy's Pizza if you haven't had the chance yet. Especially, the gluten-free Pizza crust so soft and yummy! We received prompt and friendly service from beginning to the end of our dinning experience. Martez, our server was a blast and a huge part of our fantastic time there. John from the kitchen helped us out with making formative decisions to meet my childs' dietary health needs. We were a party of 9 but treated like a party of 2 with the efficient, quick and fabulous service. Now if you can open a location in Toronto, Canada tgat would be greatly appreciated. We have a huge community that us missing out on your service and that Amazing gluten-free pizza crust. People are missing out.“
“Great place to visit! Lot of variety. Drinks were pretty good. We didn't eat here, but they do have a small menu. Dwayne and Sam were great are instructors and keep us safely in gaged and havin fun! We will definitely return! #detroitaxe “
“I've been here twice and both times were so fun. I found the bartenders to be a delight. Our last bartender was knowledgeable about cocktails and made us things not on their menu. It is small but that's part of the charm. The lobby of the hotel is also a cool vibe so when people complain about sitting out there,I don't get it. I would only be annoyed being a hotel guest and NOT being able to sit in the lobby. The drinks aren't cheap but it's for sure a fun stop.“
“Stayed at the Siren for a week....went to Paramita almost every night, as it's directly beside the hotel. Echoing what others have already said, very chill space...great staff, great tunes, and a really well-curated selection of wine, beer and vinyl. I walked away with three albums, one of which is Fela's Zombie album. It was just so cool to pop down there at like 11pm and have a beer and listen to a live DJ. Really good spot.“
“One of the best bars I have been too, very friendly and lively.-Atmosphere-Is very cool, wide open, has lots of games like darts and uses higher tech with QR code menus that I love.-Service-Was the best part, the bartender was pleasant and upbeat and really knew what she was doing! She didn’t leave out any detail and made very high end cocktails with flair, speed, accuracy, and didn’t pinch on the spirits. Loved the experience!-Food-Food was coming out hot and fresh and I heard a few compliments so it must have been good, although I didn’t order I was waiting for my reservation across the street, they did well!Place has police officer security and feels very safe and lively.4.2/5 flames would definitely recommend and will be back again!“
“Didn't eat anything so I can't rate it but had a couple of drinks which are pricey I ended up paying $30 for 2 drinks which $5 of that was a tip. 2 drinks should never cost $25 regardless of what event is going on. Lots of steps going from the entrance to the bar to the restroom and so on but I liked the feel of the place., when it's closing time it's closing time they want you out and doors closed by 11. All in all it's a good place to check out.“
“No food menu other than a soup of the day made by the barmaids mother. Whatever she feels like cooking, the day we visited is split pea, and not a fan of peas, this was loaded with chunks of ham and potatoes. Very stick to your ribs soup. A shot and a beer rounded out the “meal” the bartender was super friendly even had us sign her up”out of towners” book as we were from Alabama. When you search dive bar this is a go too place. Don’t let the doorbell deter you, or the seedy neighborhood. Stop in and see the “Oldest Bar in Detroit”“
“I was searching for a restaurant or something somewhere near the Fisher Theater to kill a little time, and I walked a little and found this place. I was a little off put by the fact that my first interaction basically was "we only have 4 tops, so can you sit at the bar?" I mentioned I feel odd sitting at a bar and not ordering alcohol as I typically only drink water. I sat at the bar, and well, my server Ray was fantastic. I asked if they had hot chocolate and was told that they can make it and not only did they make it she made sure to put it in a hot cup with a lid so I could refill and it would stay hot. I then asked about some food options, and tonight, they had a few specials. One was a pizza, and one was this delicious gnocchi dish I ordered. I was excited to hear the word Gnocci as I love it. So I ordered it with the bread. I was highly impressed with this dish. My only small note would be I wish the Gnocci had remained crispy and not soft just the way I prefer it, but it was still delicious and hot and fresh. I am more than full and didn't finish the bread, thank god!! All the food looked great, and I observed nothing but great customer service. I will tell you it's on the more expensive side as my Gnocci and Bread were $18 by them selves. The portion appeared small for that price, but as I write this, I am stuffed. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit, especially if you are downtown before a show. If this review helped you at all, please mark as helpful and follow me for more reviews around the world.“
“Detroit Blues Cafe is not just a bar- it's an experience! The best lounge in Detroit. Grown folk Thursday's is my night, have to get there early if you want a seat.To walk into a bar and get instantly greeted with a smile and a cocktail that breathes sophistication is a moment that should be savored.I highly recommend this business. The vibe, the atmosphere, the amazing music, excellent food, the ballroom dancing, and the well-dressed men are some of the highlights. The service is at an exceptional level of professionalism from the wait staff, and cooks, to the security team, consistently. The manager, Amber, is my no-nonsense girl, I just love her!The ambience here is always inviting and comfortable. It's always a treat!“
“Great food, friendly staff and the perfect place to see a show! Very intimate setting and we love the history as well!Service would have been a 5 but we got the one server that seemed to go not want to be there and go MIA often. The bartender and hostess plus all other servers were 5 stars!“
“The service here is just OUTSTANDING. We didn't go a minute without water in our glasses, all the way to the top, ALL THE TIME.The place itself is pretty hip and alive.... very unique. The vibe is really good. Lots of fun!I wish I remembered our waitress name because she is worth mentioning. Hats off to her!The drinks were nice and tasty! Pretty too!The Carne y Hueso (Bone Marrow) was Super delicious.... and the Beef Tartare that comes with it was extra YUMMY.I will pass on the Burrata next time. It was good, but not to die for. Now, the BIFE was on point, and we will go back for it. The same goes with the Duck.... delicious. Both are a MUST.We weren't super impressed with the Porterhouse. The Bife might be the winner when it comes to steak. The Peruvian Potatoes and the Roasted Cauliflower are a MUST.... very tasty and perfect textures. These are enough to share. And the Burnt Alaska was fun and good if you feel like having dessert. I would recommend to at least try it once, but I will probably skip it in the future..... only because we were plenty satisfied with the meal prior to dessert. As far as drinks go.... the Alma Gemela is just perfect.... very well balanced. We will definitely be back!Parking: If you give yourself some extra time, you will find parking.... but the lot is really small and the street parking is always busy.“
“I ordered take out and our food was delicious. The background music was just right while I waited for our food. When I first arrived, I was a little hesitant but the staff that waited on me was very pleasant and again the food was delicious.“
“This is the second time I've been to this bar, both times for live music being played there. The only issue I see for it as a venue is that the stage is just as dark as the rest of the bar. They do have a nice selection of whiskey and tequila, the bathrooms are unisex and clean, and they have cute outdoor area out back, through the pea gravel isn't the best for standing.“
“Lauren, our bartender, was so knowledgeable and cool. The only true tiki bar left in Detroit. It's very authentic and a must visit. Bartenders in general are cool and make great drinks. They stick with the classics, but have a few fun shots in case you're feeling wild. We ordered the Tusk of Plenty and the Cobra Fang. Boozy. A tad sweet as some tiki cocktails are. This spot is one of the few bars that still has Green Chartreuse. The Slurricane has a few splashes. Street parking is plentiful. Easy to get to. Decor is great. Total time wrap. Definitely stop by Detroit's last tiki bar.“
“We made our way to this bar because a couple of the other places we were planning on going to were closed, and I'm really happy we did! This place was amazing! Great atmosphere and all of the bartenders there were awesome! We will definitely be coming back here as often as we can!“
“Cocktail menu is absolutely outstanding, and you can buy everything you need to make them here. Great small grocer selection and awesome local beer selection, great curated selection of liquors and staff Is SUPER helpful and attentive. Great place to start or end a night, and even catch a game.“
“Stopped in today before a show at St. Andrew's. I haven't been there since the 80's when it was The Golden Gallion.Steven behind the bar was welcoming and friendly. The Beer Was Cold and the Popcorn was delicious. Burger was super tasty and the Corned Beef was wonderful.Tommy was there which was a super BONUS!We don't get downtown often but the next time we do we will definitely stop! Thanks Steven and Tommy!“
“I really enjoyed my birthday dinner here. Our waitress checked on us often. We were greeted with a smile and heartfelt customer service. The ambiance is so unique, it’s incredible. You can tell they take pride in the small details. The only thing was that the food portions weren’t enough to get full off of. But that’s common for this type of cuisine“
“The New York Strip special on Tuesday is fabulous and a great value! Delroy is working the grill and makes your steak to order. Although I am likely in the minority, I love my steak blue rare and Delroy doesn't disappoint. Overall, the bar has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a wonderful group of people who regularly come to hang out.“
“This place is my home away from home. I haven't lived in Detroit in almost 20 years, but I still love all the memories and friendships I created in this place. It's the one place I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the D. Great music, fantastic service, and always a good time. If you haven't visited yet, make it a point to drop in.“
“This is my favorite dive bar of all time. The only negative is that it's a VERY small place, but that adds to the character. Knowledgeable and friendly bar service, great selection of music, incredible prices. You gotta be there on a Saturday night.“
“HIGHLY recommend stopping by. I happened upon it (visiting Detroit) on a rainy night, was pleasantly surprised by the hours, offerings, atmosphere, and the lovely staff. I returned maybe 4 more times over my trip, staff was always lovely. Highly recommend the iced Irish coffees and their drip coffee offerings were always stellar. The little cookies I got were phenomenal. I met the owner the last day and he was very jovial and enthusiastic, talked about the music and how they shift the vibes for Detroit's Opening Day. Thanks y'all!“
“Had a great time with a couple of my friends. The bartender was very respectful and attentive and even though the card machine went down he let us leave to continue our amazing night meeting with our other friend. The bartender was very friendly and I look forward to returning and paying the tab I was unable to pay and buying one of their shirts in my size“
“Barcade remains an absolute blast, especially when I'm hanging out with my 30-something-year-old son and his friends. There's an abundance of entertaining games for everyone, ensuring a lively atmosphere throughout. For beer enthusiasts, it's akin to stumbling upon a hoppy paradise; the bar selection is simply outstanding. While they do offer food, our primary focus was on indulging in games, drinks, and, of course, catching the college basketball finals on TV. Don't forget to have your ID handy as everyone gets carded – a testament to their commitment to a safe and enjoyable environment.I wholeheartedly endorse this venue, particularly for those aged 25 to 35 who will revel in the diverse array of games on offer. From pinball to high-speed driving simulators to classic Ms. Pac-Man, there's something here to satisfy every gaming taste bud and keep the fun going all night long.“
“The crowd is nice on Thursday- Sundays , security plenty of parking and nice birthday party events. The drinks are reasonable and the waitresses be on their job. Like a cheers atmosphere you wanna go where everyone knows your name. Ms Krystal is sweet and loving and people be dressed to impress there. TV's seating 💺 ♥️ people call it a "hole in the wall" but those same people be in attendance "lol They come from all over the city to this place you must get there early on Sunday nights cause DJ Tony Rome be on hot blazing 🔥 fire. Dance, entertainment etc. Everytime my out of town guest / sweetheart comes to visit Detroit she has to come there before she leaves its a must.“
“Spending an incredible night at the UFO factory with my lovely wife Lauren Kiwicz and delightful cousin Cassie Sabalinski was an unforgettable experience! We immersed ourselves in the wonders of the universe, enjoying thought-provoking discussions and indulging in the deliciously unique culinary offerings, such as hot dogs named after Soviet space dogs. It was truly a one-of-a-kind adventure filled with laughter, exploration, and family bonding. #FamilyFun #UFOAdventures #SpaceDogHotDogs“
“Legendary neighborhood bar, great picture of vanishing way of life. Plenty of space for welcoming a tour bus, plenty of intimacy to relax for a couple of hours. We visited the cigar room which has some amazing artifacts of century+ of its existence. No food but up to date drink menu, including NA beers and liquor.“
“We love this place in the summer when the patio area is open. Drinks are always hit or miss, but this time we came and they had the sippin Santa pop up menu which we've had elsewhere and the drinks were fantastic! Bartender told us a lot about the pop up and made great drinks. My husband ordered a whiskey ginger and he used a fresh ginger syrup which took the drink up a notch. Always will be back.“
“Excellent spot. Popped in for a quick lunch and had an incredible arugula salad and a slice of pizza. The team was fast, food was delicious, and Kyle was super hospitable. Definitely stop by and give it a try! Best NY style pizza in Detroit.“
“Stopped by for my birthday antics, I have known this bar my whole life and always wanted to go inside..... IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!! FOR UNDER 10$ YOU CAN GET A BEER AND BURGER!!! GOD BLESS THESE FINE FOLKS!! Good drinks at a low cost an they are SUPER CHILL ?“
“Who doesn't Love a great dive bar a hidden gem for over 25 years. Located corner of West Jefferson and Zug Island it's really easy to find. The Black Horse Cantina on West Jefferson is in an isolated and industrial part of the city. Totally unique 1950s interior with a long bar, couple pool tables and a kitchen putting out really great Mexican food. Yes Taco Tuesday and Beef Birria on the weekends. We had 3 each of the Al Pastor and Asada Tacos topped with Cilantro n Onion some Limes Salsa n more Onion's. Outstanding flavor each bite also Pollo stuffed Burrito I Loved they put it on the flattop for crispy outside. Finally a super Delicious Steak n Cheese Quesadilla. Looking forward to a visit really soon on the weekend Birria a favorite of mine. Find them on Facebook Yelp and Google. Super selection of Mexican n American Beer's, lots of Liquor too. Looking like make a beautiful patio rear of bar. #blackhorsecantina #delraydetroit #mexicancantina #tacos #burrito #birria #downriverfriendseat #eatswdetroit #motorcitymunchers“
“We absolutely love this place. Probably the best priced, best atmosphere, best people in the park. They have darts and as of late, pinball. Outdoor patio for dogs that is heated in wintertime. And the bartenders are always the kindest. A must see!“
