“Friendly service that was a perfect balance between attentive and letting-you-chill. The espresso martini was so good and the breakfast sandwich was also really good! I think the potatoes were my favorite breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Salty, not too heavy. Great great place to go for brunch with some friends!“

“This is a nice place. I didn't order much food only spinach dip and bang bang shrimp. Those were delicious! I didn't care for the spinach dip. My drink was strong and tasty. A strawberry long Island ice tea. And yes I've had weak ones.“

“We held a 50th birthday party for our daughter in the private room last Saturday evening. The service and the food was extraordinary. We had 50 attendees that included old and not so old. The banquet items were outstanding and the chef did a marvelous job of preparation and presentation. Passed appetizers were a hit with everyone. (I particularly liked the crab cakes) Sheila, Yen, Rex, and Kat provided the beverage service and passed the appetizers and drink orders with smiles and efficiency. While we didn't see much of the kitchen staff, Gil, Emeka, Chaona, and Aaron provided culinary treats that had all the attendees marveling at the variety and taste. And most helpful were Joanna and Paul, the proprietors. Thank you Common Pub for a most memorable evening and event!“
“Very cool brewery at the Eastern Market. The beers are good we tried a few of them. I did a hot dog mile run here. It was so much fun I can't wait for next year. They offer several fun runs that go to charity. Very welcoming staff. Awesome atmosphere.“
“Friendly environment, good crowd and most of all ice cold beer. Thanks for having the fight.“

“Great service. Great food. We had the sausage/cheese platter, and their pretzels. Pretty tolerant of two Kentucky boys who hit the beer pretty hard the two nights we dropped in. The place had a good crowd both nights. Nice little pub. If I'm ever up that way again, it'll be one of my first stops.“

“This is a small, but cool vibe old-time neighborhood bar. Came here with a group to see the Brother Crowe band who are an amazing and gritty, bluegrass-leaning Celtic Roots powerhouse band. You grab your own drinks from the friendly and efficient bartenders, the menu had some great choices and everything came out hot and delicious. The band rocked out and everyone there was really getting into their high energy music, singing along and dancing. I hope I get a chance to come back again!“

“Went for the Yuengling party which was a great way to welcome a classic American beer to Michigan. We were very excited to see Monk's Cafe on the beer list. So many options here for everyone. The James O'Donnell Band was great too!“

“We started off with the chicken wings they wer good. The chilli and lime shrimp was good. It does have some spice. Portion could be bigger. Could have a couple more shrimp or a little more rice. The burger was good. Squash was good plamento cheese does have some spice but I do like spice. Over all the flavor of everything was good.“

“What a place! Came here on a Monday (when they'd opened specifically for an LFC match) and was blown away by the hospitality - Irish coffees and HT pizza anyone? - and the kindness shown to me by Jet (hope I've spelled tha right) who was running the place and assorted legends partaking in the match / beer / whisky. They even gave me a Detroit LFC supporters scarf which I'll be sure to take to Anfield when I next go. Super fun and lovely people - thank you!“
“Clean, welcoming and cold beer. You could call it a hole in the wall, but it's more than that when you step inside. Your welcomed by everyone in the bar and you'll definitely feel at home after just a few minutes...few places like this place.“

“The bar/restaurant was a cozy styled eatery that allowed me to have a casual business brunch with conversation with business partners.
We chose this place because it's a classic for us here in the new center area. Parking was ample and free on Sunday's to park, otherwise there is a toll to pay when parking during the week.
Staff and waitress was prompt, polite, and acted fast. Service was above average and we were able to hold a conversation without having to shout.
We will use this atmosphere again and thanks for the good service.“

“Stopped by a couple times during the week while staying at the hotel out front. Never ate but the food looked good. Had three bartenders and all were friendly, helpful and prompt. Whole bar seemed clean and organized. Multiple TV's with sports games on. Very solid bar.“

“Have been here a couple of times, every time the service is excellent. Nice atmosphere. Prices are fair, especially for beer, of which they have a good selection. Food is your standard Sysco stuff, but prepared well. Overall, I'll go back!“

“The place itself can be very mild or very wild, it just depends on the night and how it goes, that being said, dont be the guy who gets too hyper and is spilling people's drinks everywhere by acting crazy.
Drinks are minimum of $10 unless you get a beer which is not much less
Music is good but only on the second and sometimes 3rd floor, but thats just personal preference.
I wish they had better central A/C Because it gets way too hot“

“Visiting on a Sunday afternoon and had some of the BEST service by an amazing bartender Ken! Every seat at the bar was full, but it didn’t feel like it because Ken was very attentive and was handling everything with great professionalism. I never had to wait on refills or follow up on how my meal went…seemed like the perfect amount of attention.
I was there the previous day and the bartender and the female server/bar wrench were so overwhelmed by the 1 4 top and 4 people at the bar I literally timed myself sitting there and it was over 20 minutes before she acknowledged me.
I’m glad I came back to give them a second chance, because Ken was excellent and provided great service as noted on previous reviews“
