“I had THE most delicious birthday dinner I could ever ask for! We ordered the cheese plate for an appetizer and was not disappointed to say the very least. All of the cheese was so fresh and full of flavor! And the bread was some of the best I've had with a dinner since moving out West. It was so fluffy and baked to perfection. I ordered the lasagna for my entree and the portion was big enough for 2! It had the right amount of cheeses, sauce, and meats to ensure you get everything in each bite! For the dessert, I couldn't help but order the crème brûlée and oh my goodness, it was the best thing I've ever tasted! So light and rich in flavor. It was made with the utmost love and care. Thank you to the Blacksmith for such a lovely evening with friends!“

Not to diss the other Indian restaurant in Bend, but the Taj was wayyyyyy better than the other one.

“I’ve been a connoisseur of Kanpai for almost 14 years now. I love that they do reservations now (finally, and worth it). If it’s a special occasion, do the sushi bar omakase … they never do you wrong and it is truly the best experience. Worth every cent. If it’s a date night or other family night out, the specials never disappoint. My faves: appetizers: seaweed salad and edamame (obvi), sashimi: salmon or tuna (especially albacore when they have it- get it or get the special…. Mmmm). Rolls: orgasm, rainbow, Harley Davidson. Hot house sake never disappoints and they actually make great cocktails (martinis, old fashions… great selection of Japanese whiskey). It’s taken me this long to write a review because I love the place and want to keep it small, so please, if you visit - be cool and don’t wreck the vibe.“

“As a lover of Asian food, I often become sad in the Bend area because restaurant choices are sparse compared to places with a bigger Asian population. Also, I'm usually disappointed by the Asian food that exists here. However, Double Happiness is an exception. In a West Coast metro area, it would not stand out so much other than being another yummy family-owned Chinese restaurant. But in Bend, it's more rare to find authentic Asian food, and I would say this place is pretty legitimate. They offer an extensive menu of favorite items at Chinese restaurants as well as their own specials. My partner and I tried the mother's chicken, which was typical and on par with other restaurants. However, I was highly impressed by the extremely addictive beef fried rice. Fried rice is a comfort food for me and I'm always happy to find a great one. The menus say that they do not use MSG, but fortunately they still offer a lot of flavor. Service was fast and the place was fairly clean. This will be a go-to spot for me in Bend.“

“I have visited this establishment several times a year. The atmosphere is friendly and attentive. The menu is good. The filet is excellent and the salads are great. There is outdoor dinning and indoor dinning. I do both. The grill has a beautiful interior, spacious tables are not packed together. Bar is divided by spacious booths and table seating very friendly and cool. This place is great as it allows you to come in with a suit or snow attire or a long sleeve tee. Everyone is respected. I actually bring my international friends to Gregs 2 or 3 times during their stay. Food is good/ great. People are kind/respectfull. It's clean and friendly. Staff , from the janitor (if I may) to the owner ( I have met) are kind and consider you priority.“
