“I have been coming here to have lunch at least once a week for the last year and half.Service is the best and they are super quick on the orders. Food is superb. All tacos are good but the veggie tacos are outstanding. Lots of beans and a big chunk of avocado plus rice and other veggies. This place is also affordable and a great to-go option for lunch or after golf.“
“Decent place. Would recommend. Convenient to get banh mi without driving to SE Portland. The bread is really good and the marinade on the meat is tasty. I personally like the grilled chicken over grilled pork only bc the pork had too much fat and tendon to my liking. A little more pickles veggies would be nice. But otherwise, tastes great! (: Their Vietnamese ice coffee is made strong too, which is a plus for a caffeine addict like me.“
“My first time going here was to pick up some cupcakes for an employees birthday. They were super helpful explaining how to go about picking the flavors you wanted. The best thing was the quality of the cupcakes though. Everyone loved the flavors. They have a ton of variety. The cupcakes are very moist ? I would highly recommend. Immediate pick up for 2 dozen is super nice too!!“
“Kate's plant-based ice cream is exceptionally delicious. A lot of the stir-ins are made in-house, too, which adds to the delight of the treat! The venue is small (not much room to stick around, especially with long queues), but cute. One of the only downsides is the price: expect to pay $6+ for a single scoop. It's still well worth a try, regardless!“
“I've heard so much about this ice cream, so I'm glad I finally got to try it.I really appreciate that they let you do half scoops so I could try more flavors. My husband and I split a double scoop waffle cone with:- Passionfruit Yuzu Mochi Donuts & Whey Curd- Pear & Blue Cheese- Arbequina Olive Oil- Strawberry Honey Balsamic with Black PepperFirst off, this is the only place I have been with waffle cones as good as Jeni's, which was a pleasant surprise.Weird flavors are right up my alley, so I was in heaven. The strawberry balsamic was hands down my favorite because the flavor was so intense. The passion fruit one would be my second choice.I would happily come back, but there are many other places I want to try while we're in Portland too. Too much ice cream to try is quite the problem to have.“
“I saw the raving reviews so wanted to check this place out. The bahn mi is good bulgogi has good flavor. The meat is pretty chewy though, and I would say the combo definitely is not worth the extra 5 bucks. I'd stick to the sandwich. The service was pretty quick and the lady was very nice. It's a small hole in the wall location. I would however avoid this area after about 5/6pm. This area is home to many people whom reside outside lol. As someone who has been to almost every bahn mi place in Portland I will say comparing to best baguette, bahn mi fresh, and a few other bahn mi places i think killer bahn mi is the best! But it is quite spendy for a bahn mi. You pay for it in the amount of meat they give you but still. If you like this kind of bahn mi I'd recommend also checking out an xuyen bakery. It's this little bakery on like 51st and foster but they have some of the biggest bahn mis I've ever had for 1/2 the price.“
“The cutest subway station turned into a coffee spot! My friends and I ordered chai tea, spanish and tiramisu latte. The service took 30 minutes and the line wasn’t that long, but the lattes were absolutely worth it. Chai had the perfect amount of spice.“
“One of favorite breweries. A hidden jewel of the Portland beer scene. High quality beer in a wide variety of traditional styles and some innovations. Chill and friendly vibe. Dog friendly. Worth going off the beaten path to have a pint or two.“
“Incredible!!! I got the birria tacos and they were just fantastic. Piping hot, great mix of textures and flavors, and a great portion size. Thank you! Can't wait to eat here again!Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian options and many of them are vegan, or can be made vegan!“
“My third time at Keeper Coffee Co. today:)!! I love the feel of the space. It reminds me of a little coffee spot in the UK and I’m always consistently happy with the lattes and choice of pastries etc no matter the time of day.Vegetarian options: Mostly vegetarian not vegan that I know of.“
“As a 1st time guest, this restaurant is fantastic. Smooth and friendly seating after arrival. Ambience and music levels were ideal. Surrounding diners all seemed content and everyone enjoying themselves. There was a calm sense of urgency and efficiency by the staff which shows good management is present. The food was perfect, well balanced, great selection of greens, proteins and sides. Flavours were all great matches for each dish. The venue is well kept and clean, this to me shows great care is taken in the presentation and look of the space. Well done to the team. With all the positive, there is always one issue that is showing up on checks . The staff wellness charge on the check. This passive guilt charge is not a concern of diners. This is an ownership responsibility. My recommendation is to add $1 to all your top 5 dishes to cover this expense. Staff deserve all the support possible especially in hospitality as it's long hard hours. Just don't add it to the guest check. It's weird and also skews the tip calculations on the check total. Find another way . See you soon“
“We always go to this Screen Door when we are in Portland. The staff are always a delight and this trip was no exception. Davi was charming and friendly and attentive, and all the staff were working hard (always so busy!) There was a teeny, tiny glitch with our order taking a while (we weren't concerned but the staff were so distraught that their efficient system had gone awry, lol!) We appreciated their gesture of discounting our ticket, but didn't think it was necessary. We were having such a good time with Davi and all the staff that the time passed quickly. The food was fantastic (always get the praline bacon!), the people watching superb, and the service stellar. We will be back again (and again and again!)“
“I’ve been here 7 or 8 times, and I keep coming back. Food 5 stars, love the shareable idea and that the food changes but kinda stays the same. The non meat options are chef kisses. Servers 5 stars. Bathrooms 5 stars. Desserts 5 stars. Drinks 5 stars. What more can I say? If this restaurant ever were to struggle (it wouldn’t), I would single handedly do my best to keep it in business. I may have left a review before but can’t find it so here’s another. 10/10 highly recommended“
“Definitely a must try at least once! The ice cream flavors change often, but there are always the consistent flavors that are there every time. It's worth going in and asking for a sample of as many kinds as you want to try until you find your favorite (they use actual silverware for the samples).“
“Happy we finally got to eat here after it's been on our list for some time. It didn't disappoint. Our server Stephanie was very helpful in giving us recommendations on what to try and she was very personable. We landed on the brussel sprouts, falafels, and lamb belly. The brussel sprouts were perfect, falafels delicious, and lamb belly was probably the best lamb I've had, though I did think it was a little too charred for my liking. My husband enjoyed his hot toddy and my sweet fruity mocktail surprisingly went really well with dinner. They've chosen good pairings. Cute little place too!“
“Phenomenal cocktails, delicious food, and delightful service! We come to this place regularly thanks to their fun and extensive drink menu (the Golden Friendship might be my fave, but they also have great "0 proof" mocktails), Asian-fusion menu (the pork katsu sando is amazing and can be split), and the 3 guys who run it. The place has a low-key cool nerd vibe thanks to the cocktail names and light decor. They frequently have trivia and drink & draw nights, which are fun.Vegetarian options: It's easy to substitute tofu as a protein, and there are several vegetarian items on the menu.Dietary restrictions: If you are cutting back on alcohol, they have several mocktails that won't leave you missing booze.“
“Anytime I go to this food court, I go directly to LoRell’s Chicken. I live in Vancouver, Wa and whenever I cross the bridge to run errands I always make sure to stop by Lorell’s for lunch. They are always so nice and take time out of their busy day to make sure to come over to check up on you.“
“Loved the little food cart and the overall atmosphere in the food cart pod. The Scotch Egg Sando sandwich looked impressive but ultimately the deep fried egg did not deliver on flavor (or texture). The bread was also very plain and didn't taste like shokupan.Overall, we loved the concept and menu and would come again to try a more traditional sando!“
“From start to finish our experience here was perfect. The staff are so friendly and focused you will never be without anything you need. The food is beyond delicious and the presentation is beautiful. They are able to but together flavors that you would never think would work, and then wonder why you haven't been eating these combos your entire life. I woke up still dreaming of the food. And as a bonus they are a women owned business.“
“Tomorrow's Verse is one of our favorite Portland establishments. The beer selection is top notch, the space is open and inviting, and the staff is always welcoming. They offer savory hand pies and permit outside food too--there is a wealth of excellent food options all along NE Fremont. Additionally, Tomorrow's Verse has a patio area--it became our living room during the height of the pandemic. If you're into live music, Tomorrow's Verse frequently hosts bands and streaming concerts. I cannot recommend Tomorrow's Verse enough.“
“We accidentally stumbled upon this food truck by chance. We went for the 11.50 deal for the Philly cheesesteak. It was hands down, the BEST Philly I’ve had in awhile. It was sooooo cheesy and soooooo juicy. Every bite filled with cheese and that classic Philly sauce. The best part is that the bread didn’t fall apart or become soggy! I almost forgot to mention the flavor of the bread alone. It was buttery and toasty. Amazing. Will be trying to full menu.“
“@tovcoffeebar in Portland has been by far my favorite coffee place I have found here! I got the Coconut Chai Tea and also tried The Arabic People Latte (actual names, swipe right to see menu) and they were both superb. The coffee was beyond smooth and just the perfect hint of cardamom. The chai tea also had a subtle note of coconut in one of my all time fav and go to drinks. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Part of going is definitely for the experience! We got ours to go, but still went upstairs to the deck while we waited and the atmosphere was so inviting. Also, pup friendly! 5 stars, hands down and will be back. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️“
“First time eating Sri Lankan, and I think it is my favorite. Helps that I had a Sri Lankan friend with me to order and everything was delicious. Flavors that made my mouth happy. Spicy but not too much. We had two different types of roti, string hoppers, dishes with eggplant, chicken, jackfruit, and pop sambol. Flavors were out of this world. The cardamom flan for dessert was yummy and the Sri Lankan Iced Coffee was so good. Can’t wait to return“
“Incredible food and fun interior/ambiance, though cocktails were mediocre. Highlight of our visit to Portland and visited twice in 2 weeks. The food was unbelievably tasty — they really didn’t compromise on Texan barbecue quality with their Thai focus. The white curry with brisket burnt ends was one of the best dishes I’ve had all year. The massaman lamb curry was phenomenal too.The cocktails (Shoulda Woulda Coulda and Life of Luxury) were unfortunately overly sweet and candy-like. I would skip them and just get a cold Singha draft or their alcohol-based slushies instead. We received cold service on our first visit but super friendly and attentive service on the second. We walked in with no wait on a Monday at 4:30pm and waited 1h30 on Saturday evening at a great wine bar across the street.“
“Quick pit stop, but ordered the following: - Irish stout 16oz - Blueberry inferno 8oz - Bourbonic biscochito 8oz - Foccacia w ricotta We really enjoyed the stout! Some of the best stout we've had - not very high in ABV, but very tasty. Unfortunately, they only have growlers of this when we asked if they had cans. Blueberry inferno was indeed quite spicy. Def try a sample before committing to a whole glass. Personally, wouldn't get this as a solo drink, unless you're into a spicy, alcohol drink. However, it was worth trying and we split amongst the table. Bourbonic had notes of bourbon, not bad, but nothing too crazy either. Foccacia w ricotta was a perfect snack to line our tummies. Big enough to split between 2 people.“
“I went to the food cart location and saw they now have gone brick and mortar. How exciting!! I had their street tacos and some Birria Consomé. Sooo super yummy!!There was plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible. The place looks clean. Hands down, these are the best street tacos I've ever had!“
“Great low-key atmosphere, rain or shine! Family and dog friendly. Tons of outdoor seating, dozens of brews on tap, and several food truck options. We opted for brews and 1/4 slices of Ranch Pizza's pepperoni pizza and breadsticks. Everything hit the spot, staff were kind and helpful, and on a Friday night there was live music on the patio. We'll certainly be back!“
“I tried the reina pepiada which was pretty good tasting but did not blow me away. It came with a a side of maduros. The pricing is fairly steep, with the arepas ranging from $12-$15. For comparison, La Arepa has vegan arepas for $9-$10. I do not feel that the pricing is competitive for a food cart. That said, this place is worth checking out. Updated from previous review on 2024-03-25“
“Had a great meal here on Friday night, including some of the best gluten free pasta we've ever had. Service was lovely, very professional and we were treated well. Was a nice evening out. We did make a reservation, which was ready and waiting for us. I would recommend reserving a table before hand as it gets quite busy. Can't wait to go back!“
“Probably the best kafta kabobs in and around Portland. With a healthy serving or 4 kabobs and a massive peice of flat bread on to-go orders it's the best under $20 meal to fill the belly. Staff is very nice and great location with easy parking in the lot.Vegetarian options: It has hummus, tabouli, grape leafs, salads, plenty of optionsParking: Plenty of spots in the paid lot, can pay by QR code easily“
“The fact that they have lihing powder as a topping already sets the bar! I luckily stumbled upon this little gem as I was walking through the area. I find it very hard to find a good shave ice place on mainland. And I was especially surprised to find one in Portland! Wailua shave ice is a Hawaiian style shaved ice place. They make their ice very thin and soft and nothing like your typical snow cone. The fact that the owners are from Kauai is a bonus as my family is from there as well. They most certainly do not skimp out on syrup or toppings. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area. The only downside is that they do not have indoor seating. However, there are plenty of benches you can sit at nearby the store itself. This will be added to my must stops in Portland!“
“Came here around 1pm on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away. The place is very cute with live plants decor and has a number of healthy food options! I got the vegan bowl with sweet potatoes and loved it! If you aren’t vegan adding an egg to it will also taste amazing! Highly recommend, will be “
“The food quality is good, but the size of the breakfast burritos leave something to be desired, and I am a small person so I don't eat much. Would have been better if they put potatoes in it to bulk it up a little. The people working in there are nice and the lattes and food are good though. I would go back.“
“Truly my favorite bar, I've been coming here for a couple years and the owner Sarah always says hi. The food is delicious, the drinks are awesome, the ambiance is intimate and chill. My favorite thing is to come here and get a glass of wine and the slab bread with French butter and read my book. It's just the best!!!“
“Speedboat coffee is a very cute coffee shop. It has the classic homey feeling that I love in a coffee shop.We got chai tea lattes and they were delicious. We also got some GF treats that were made by the owners mom. They were delicious, however my partner has celiac disease and had a reaction to them. I do not fault the business, accounting for celiac disease in gluten free foods is difficult because of the cross contamination and even needing to use separate cutting boards or other utensils. I only mention this so other people with celiac can remain safe!I will be returning to speedboat for more coffee soon! Thanks for the great service.“
“Best blueberry muffin I’ve ever had! Delicious breakfast sandwich with free drip coffee, and a very friendly Nana. Vegetarians: when I said I didn’t want meat on my sandwich, she offered tomato instead which I thought was a nice touch! So lucky to have this spot in the neighborhood.“
“NY style pizza from a food truck? You betcha. Top PDX pizza places for NY style pizza are usually Escape from NY, SFNY, SIZZLE Pie, Baby Doll but now you can add Giants NY to the list. Ordered an 18” Pepperoni pie and everything about it is just right. The fold, the cheese pull, the taste, Yumm! Also ordered a sausage calzone because it is so rare to find a calzone here that contains ricotta cheese. This was huge and full of goodness. That ricotta sure hits the spot!“
“Really friendly and great customer service! Got the brunch burger and it did not disappoint. Perfect burger for when you can’t decide what you want has everything you could need eggs bacon and hash browns! If you are in the area I would suggest checking it out!“
“This place has the best shave ice I've ever had outside of Hawaii - and better than some I've had on island. Sooo good. The only sad part is they don't serve shave ice all year, today was the last day until next spring. The rest of their offerings looked yummy and I look forward to trying those, too.The people working there are very warm and welcoming. We will definitely be back.“
“A wonderful selection of pasties! The menu changes from week to week—they post the menu for the weekend Friday night and Sat/Sun morning. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, it’s all delicious. If you are wanting something specifically you’ll want to get there when they open at 9 and be ready for a line. I got there about 10 minutes before and there were already people waiting. It’s worth the wait though and everything is amazing!Dietary restrictions: They have available vegan pastries.Parking: There’s a small parking lot that had spaces available when I was there.“
“I was in Portland from out of state for a conference and Tacos Frita catered one of the meals. I loved their vegan and gluten free tacos and the pinto beans were the best I've had. I had to have their food again so I went to the food truck. Very nice people, great customer service!“
“The Hotate or Sea Scallop sushi with yuzu pepper marmalade was out this world good. We also ordered the Guac N' Roll & French Quarter Roll. Excellent flavors. We didn't even need soy sauce. The Guac N' Roll has a unique presentation and the roll was balance & on point. I will recommend Yoshi to anyone interested in sushi!“
“Wow wow wow! My buddy and I moved to Portland from Texas and New Mexico a year ago and we’ve been craving a taste of authentic Mexican and what better than homemade handmade local tamales. Hands down, the best we’ve ever had! We were surprised by the price at first but boy do they give you your money’s worth. You’ll be full off the first 2! Recommend the chicken and the cheese ones. Burrito was amazing and huge too especially for just $2! And the SALSA! F**k Yes! Finally good homemade salsa! Eat at and Support Los Tamales Locos and save me some!“
“Food was lovely, pasta had a perfect portion size if you’re just in the middle of being hungry and not. Service was good, just took a little long because it was a friday night. Atmosphere was not the best, there was a rowdy table behind my family that just put off out our whole vibe for the night and was very overwhelming for being outside around a lot of other people. (if you easily get overstimulated I suggest eating inside) Totally not the restraints fault, just an unlucky role of the dice“
“Oh Em Gee! Maybe had the best coffee I've ever had! First time here and asked if they had any coffee with cayenne. They do not but mentioned their coffees have Moroccan spice so I may taste the kick I wanted. I ordered the Moroccan Pistachio Latte and it didn't disappoint! They top their lattes with honey powder to keep the foam! Simply put... perfect! Bold flavor with a little kick I wanted and just sweet enough to enjoy every sip!“
“The whiskey that Westward makes is some of my favorite. The collaboration with 2 Towns was fantastic event and I really enjoyed the visit and talk by the heads of both organizations!Kid-friendliness: Not so much, cause it’s a distillery ?“
“Wandered in about 30 minutes before closing (sorry guys!!!) but the food, service and overall vibe of the place was amazing. It was probably my favourite meal of the trip, and we took it back to our airbnb around the corner (spread pictured). I'll definitely visit again in August!“
“Without a doubt one of the best sandwich joints in Portland. Absolutely everything made here is created with a passion for delicious food, and you can certainly tell when you taste it. From the smoked chicken wings, to the burgers, to the properly layered and piled high nachos, you will not be disappointed with anything you get on the menu. Pair anything with their extensive liquor selection and great tap list, along with amazing cocktails they make in house. I feel like when I’m inside, it’s like I’m back in my grandparents basement. It’s cozy and has a great feeling. Patio is great for the summertime. I can’t recommend this place enough.“
“My partner and I come here every now and again, the server Tia is always so friendly and patient with us while figuring out our drinks and the comedy shows on Thursday nights are hands down the best and most well curated “underground” comedy in Portland. 10/10 would recommend if looking for a great taproom.“
“Crows Nest Deli & Lounge is a great place to go at the end of a long day or for any day really. The atmosphere is great with a great jukebox, a large flat screen TV (cable), full lottery (including 3 Video Poker machines), full bar and a great and friendly owner. They also have live music on the last Friday of every month, which really packs the lounge, with outside covered seating and a pool table to boot. The food and service are both exceptional. I highly recommend visiting the Crows Nest Deli & Lounge.“
