“My friend and I decided to come and have happy hour and we ordered california roll the wagu beef sliders the cod tacos and the fishermens stew. I enjoyed the sliders very much. The california roll had more rice than filling but, the crab meat, avocado and cucumber had good flavor but the quantity was very small. the cod tacos didn't say it was blackened with spices that were a little more than my taste buds could handle. the fishermens stew was very flavorfull and had well cooked fish and seafood. I would not recommend the california roll because of the amount of rice.“

“Wow! We have been fans of Dean's Homestyle Cafe for many years. When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!“

“This hotel was a nice choice during unseasonably hot weather. The rooms were comfortable the air conditioning was cold, and the staff was friendly. I had a short but excellent stay. The hotel is close to the freeway so it was convenient to get to but I couldn't hear the freeway. I will stay here again.“

“Our family went here for lunch to celebrate our daughter’s preschool graduation and we were so impressed with the service! Our server, Justyn, was so kind, personable, and made both of our kids feel really special. Two other servers were also so sweet to our daughter and even gave her a congratulations card signed by the staff as we were leaving. The food was good, service was quick, and all of the tables around us were happy and receiving the same kindness from the servers. We will definitely be returning because of the people working here. “The food is always good. They had an octoberfest special. (Small plate and large plate). Had the small plate with the octoberfest sausage and it was awesome. A warning they do automatically charge the gratuity so make sure if you tip you know it is on top of the gratuity they already put on the bill.“

“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! “We have traveled all over the world and eaten at a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and fast food. I only say this because it is to emphasize what comes next. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in a long time.

The food is excellent. I had the pot roast and my husband had the meatloaf. The pot roast was fall of the fork good! I joked with the server it was as good as my Mom’s. The server had no issues substituting for my husband’s dietary needs (veggies instead of potatoes). The food came out hot and fairly quickly.

I cannot rave about the service enough. Our server was attentive, upbeat, kind and helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable, not too noisy and plenty of space for busy weekends. We had such a nice dinner we went back for breakfast. Over all, a really nice experiences.“

About 30 seconds later though, we had a seat and were looking at the menus! Service was excellent and kind. The food was so, so good! The portions were more than generous and the coffee was good! Loved the atmosphere though the smell of the passing trains was not enjoyable. And we were inside. Be prepared for group sizes to automatically be charged a 22% tip regardless of service quality.“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!

“I make it a point to visit Canard Burnside on all of my trips to Portland! The unique flavors and presentations on their menu keep me coming back for more. Had the roasted beets last night for the first time and the flavor was out of this world.“

“This review is based on our last few minutes paying the bill, everything else was top notch. Our group of 4 was chatting when our bills arrived and continued to visit, and our waiter came by to gather abit later and told him it was ready. At this time we Bagan to review our bills to pay one with a card and we were paying cash. As soon as I placed the cash in their bifold and placed on the table another waiter came to the table and stated being just like our waiter and dressed similarly. Worth noting she was about 110 5 foot or so with our waiter at 220 plus and 6ft or so wit a great beard. I stated that our waiter had much bigger feet and a great beard with my wife commenting about our matching hairlines... lol right. No next thing we get is she identifies as law enforcement and proceeds to walk away with an elevated voice "I'll kick beat you down" I turned left to my friend and sain now she wants to wrestle. At this point mist people are watching and then just short of screaming she yells "I'll Kick your A$$". And indeed the entire restaurant is watching on what was going on, I simply went back to visiting with our group not knowing what was next. Not long afterwards our waiter walked by and as he did thank me for the tip. No follow up from management nothing. So probably about 15 minutes after this a few other groups had left and we started our departure and still nothing. Over the years we have been here many times as a couple and a few large groups, after this event not to sure we could return for an enjoyable dining experience with their staff threatening some ones life unprovoked. “Famished from traveling, I decided to research options for a great smash burger. Farmer and the Beast came highly rated, so I pulled the trigger. Happy I did.. the meat was Cooked to perfection. Flavorful not greasy just how I like a smash burger. Will stop by again if I’m ever in the area.“

“Wonderful food and a true mom and pop shop. It's a small and quaint restaurant, definitely reserve a table if you're planning to eat in. We went at dinner time and it was pretty busy. Waited about 20 minutes for take out and it was worth it! The wienerschnitzel sandwich was great and the cherry cheese pastry is so good!“
