She was working her buns off and was still very pleasant and accommodating. “This is such a great place to grab great food before you are in the city. This location even has outdoor seating and that is great on a warm day. My server was Caleb and he made my dining experience delightful. He took great care of me and he was very friendly and helpful when I needed something. “This is a quant authentic German restaurant run exclusively by Otto and Anita, they cook everything themselves in the back. Anita makes all the baked goods and they even make their own salad dressing. The food was delicious. Not many vegetarian items but the Dill Soup was the star, and paired nicely with their house salad. The desserts and baked goods all looked very nice. I enjoyed the German Spezi soda. The staff is super friendly and the whole experience was warm and unique. I highly recommend it.“

“This review is based on our last few minutes paying the bill, everything else was top notch. Our group of 4 was chatting when our bills arrived and continued to visit, and our waiter came by to gather abit later and told him it was ready. At this time we Bagan to review our bills to pay one with a card and we were paying cash. As soon as I placed the cash in their bifold and placed on the table another waiter came to the table and stated being just like our waiter and dressed similarly. Worth noting she was about 110 5 foot or so with our waiter at 220 plus and 6ft or so wit a great beard. I stated that our waiter had much bigger feet and a great beard with my wife commenting about our matching hairlines... lol right. No next thing we get is she identifies as law enforcement and proceeds to walk away with an elevated voice "I'll kick beat you down" I turned left to my friend and sain now she wants to wrestle. At this point mist people are watching and then just short of screaming she yells "I'll Kick your A$$". And indeed the entire restaurant is watching on what was going on, I simply went back to visiting with our group not knowing what was next. Not long afterwards our waiter walked by and as he did thank me for the tip. No follow up from management nothing. So probably about 15 minutes after this a few other groups had left and we started our departure and still nothing. Over the years we have been here many times as a couple and a few large groups, after this event not to sure we could return for an enjoyable dining experience with their staff threatening some ones life unprovoked. “I've always had decent food here at Bannings. This morning I ordered Pumpkin pancakes.....what a disappointment. The pumpkin batter needed salt added to it and it also could have used a bit more sugar in the batter. The syrup was not real maple syrup but table top ad says, "warm maple syrup," so I expected real maple syrup. It also says, "whipped butter." I asked the waiter about the maple syrup and he told me it was "artificial" maple and argued the fact that the restaurant never said "real" maple syrup. Maybe the butter is whipped margarine...who knows what liberties are taken in menu descriptions. I'm a "real" maple syrup customer.“

“Found The Buffalo Gap last weekend while attending a bike Show. About a mile from my stay and way better than the Boujie hotel I was at. The Bartenders and Waitresses were all awesome Great service, nice smiles and great food and drink. Thank you all I appreciate you and my new hoodie.“

“The food was so delicious. I love cooking but have not eaten anything this good. The Coconut Tilapia was so delicious, The oxtail, plantain, veggies, rice, chapati were so good. The food was delivered many miles away yet it was still very warm and very hygienically packed. If I lived in Portland, I would eat here as many times but unfortunately I'm in a different state but whenever I would visit Portland I would definitely eat at Amani African Cuisine. “Portland's original greasy spoon. The only thing that's changed since the 90's (and probably before that) is that the jukebox is all digital now and the prices (unfortunately). It ain't fancy and it sure isn't healthy but it's plenty tasty.“

“The Limelight is my go to happy hr place! Their menu is fantastic and the food is some of the best happy hour food I have had around town. Their Limelight Harvest Salad is always fresh and filling and adding a little protein makes it a complete meal.
Being a whiskey girl, the cherry infused Maker's Mark Manhattan never disappoints, but beware, one does it's job.
Lastly, I have met some amazing people there (and their dogs) which only adds to each amazing memory created there.“

“Love love love this place. One a street where there has been a lot on construction changes and old buildings being torn down, this place has taken advantage of square footage in a home. Both covered and not covered outside seating areas. In door has a great bar! Customer Service is amazing, even when its busy. The Beer, fantastic! I tried all of them on tap. Bathrooms are large. Food was amazing! I highly recommend.“

“The Muddy Rudder has (in my opinion) some of the best pizza that I've had in Portland. Their menu is pretty straightforward, good appetizers, pizzas, calzones, and some sandwiches and salads. Their beer list is ever-changing and always very good, there is a full bar so options for boozy drinks are available and kids can even get their own Shirley Temples, lime-aid, etc.
The staff is always friendly and the music is always great, whether it is played over the stereo or one of the many live acts they have performing on a number of nights each month.
When the weather is cold and the fireplace is burning there aren't many other places I'd rather be outside of my home.“

When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!“
