“Look at this burger! I promise it was as delicious as it is beautiful. “What a great happy hour deal they offer: free fries or tots with each burger purchased Monday through Thursday 2:30-4:30!! And soft serve cones are just $1.00 during happy hour. There are other happy hour specials as well.

My son said “this is the best burger I’ve had in a while” and we go out for burgers almost every week. He gave his first bite 5 stars out of 5! The fries, tots and large soft serve (swirl strawberry with vanilla = yum!!) are delicious too. Highly recommended for happy hour!“

The corned beef hash was odd: a lot of shredded corned beef but not very many potatoes, and the potatoes looked like slivers of onions!?!“

A warning they do automatically charge the gratuity so make sure if you tip you know it is on top of the gratuity they already put on the bill.“

“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! “We have traveled all over the world and eaten at a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and fast food. I only say this because it is to emphasize what comes next. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in a long time.

The food is excellent. I had the pot roast and my husband had the meatloaf. The pot roast was fall of the fork good! I joked with the server it was as good as my Mom’s. The server had no issues substituting for my husband’s dietary needs (veggies instead of potatoes). The food came out hot and fairly quickly.

I cannot rave about the service enough. Our server was attentive, upbeat, kind and helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable, not too noisy and plenty of space for busy weekends. We had such a nice dinner we went back for breakfast. Over all, a really nice experiences.“

About 30 seconds later though, we had a seat and were looking at the menus! Service was excellent and kind. The food was so, so good! The portions were more than generous and the coffee was good! “I've never had Spaghetti Bolognese the way they make it. Very good! Service for a Monday evening was a bit slow but they were unusually busy. Loved the atmosphere though the smell of the passing trains was not enjoyable. And we were inside. Be prepared for group sizes to automatically be charged a 22% tip regardless of service quality.“

“I make it a point to visit Canard Burnside on all of my trips to Portland! The unique flavors and presentations on their menu keep me coming back for more. Had the roasted beets last night for the first time and the flavor was out of this world.“

“This review is based on our last few minutes paying the bill, everything else was top notch. Our group of 4 was chatting when our bills arrived and continued to visit, and our waiter came by to gather abit later and told him it was ready. At this time we Bagan to review our bills to pay one with a card and we were paying cash. As soon as I placed the cash in their bifold and placed on the table another waiter came to the table and stated being just like our waiter and dressed similarly. Worth noting she was about 110 5 foot or so with our waiter at 220 plus and 6ft or so wit a great beard. I stated that our waiter had much bigger feet and a great beard with my wife commenting about our matching hairlines... lol right. No next thing we get is she identifies as law enforcement and proceeds to walk away with an elevated voice "I'll kick beat you down" I turned left to my friend and sain now she wants to wrestle. At this point mist people are watching and then just short of screaming she yells "I'll Kick your A$$". And indeed the entire restaurant is watching on what was going on, I simply went back to visiting with our group not knowing what was next. Not long afterwards our waiter walked by and as he did thank me for the tip. No follow up from management nothing. So probably about 15 minutes after this a few other groups had left and we started our departure and still nothing. Over the years we have been here many times as a couple and a few large groups, after this event not to sure we could return for an enjoyable dining experience with their staff threatening some ones life unprovoked. “The ambiance is impeccable! The theater is one of the most cozy and beautiful I’ve ever been to. The bar has so many things to admire! My only negative notes are that the “Cajun tots” are quite salty, and the Lemon Raspberry seltzer is not good. The gyro however was delicious! Will definitely come back in the future.“

“I've always had decent food here at Bannings. This morning I ordered Pumpkin pancakes.....what a disappointment. The pumpkin batter needed salt added to it and it also could have used a bit more sugar in the batter. The syrup was not real maple syrup but table top ad says, "warm maple syrup," so I expected real maple syrup. It also says, "whipped butter." I asked the waiter about the maple syrup and he told me it was "artificial" maple and argued the fact that the restaurant never said "real" maple syrup. Maybe the butter is whipped margarine...who knows what liberties are taken in menu descriptions. I'm a "real" maple syrup customer.“
