“My first time here...drove from Salem, and it was well worth the trip! Excellent service, food, entertainment and atmosphere. I had the spicy garlic shrimp appetizer and a Caesar salad. Both excellent. I will definitely be back!“

​Mike’s is a total gem. Bringing the family out to see all the unbelievable classic cars and trucks during their car shows makes for such a fun weekend outing. Strolling around looking at the cool builds with a frosty, hand-spun milkshake in hand and then digging into a classic, juicy burger—is about as good as it gets. Great people, classic food, and fantastic community vibes!“

The corned beef hash was odd: a lot of shredded corned beef but not very many potatoes, and the potatoes looked like slivers of onions!?!“

“My friend and I visit here every Friday evening. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Especially Jason. He remembers regulars, and is very genuinely caring about the people he serves. The servers, including Lupita, are very prompt and nice. Your drinks never go empty! We prefer this location because it’s not only open until 10pm, but because we have had such pleasant experiences with the staff. Food is pretty darn good too! Fresh breakfast meats and French toast! “Coming into Mother's Bistro & Bar felt like going into a charming Parisian cafe. There was no wait to getting a seat, but I was told that they do not seat partial parties. The noise level was very loud, even when my party and I were sitting in the corner, so you will need to speak loudly in order to listen in.

I have ordered the 1/2 order tofu hash (lower right dish) and cinnamon roll. The hash was so-so as I was not enthusiastic about somewhat of a thick layer of oil at the bottom of the plate.

However the cinnamon roll and the strawberry jam that you can request for on your toast really won me over. The cream cheese filling toned down the sweetness of the cinnamon roll while brightness and light sweetness of the strawberry jam made the toast that much more tasty.“

I didn’t know what to expect but it was very tidy had plenty of room and the cuisine was high quality—the chefs did a great job!! I had the steelhead, kiddo had the steak sandwich and other kiddo had pesto pasta. We split appetizer of fried cauliflower and cake and brownie desserts. I highly recommend each of the dishes we got. All the food was super fresh and served when ready at the right temperatures. Grace was our server and she was so sweet!! The environment wasn’t super loud—I appreciate that now that my dad has hearing aids so I pay attention to this detail.“

“This is a great first date place. The food presentation was outstanding. However, we felt it was a little blan. They use RC soda products here, which are flat at the bar but have carbonation if gotten from the back. Amazing happy hour!

“We had a fantastic dinner at Emerald Line. It is a new restaurant that has not yet been discovered. We loved the atmosphere with the exposed brick walls and intimate atmosphere. We met one of the owners who was very friendly and took pride in making sure everything was great, which it was. Each one of our dishes from appetizer to main course to dessert was perfect with really interesting, unique blends of flavors. This is our new favorite Portland restaurant and we will return for sure.“

“This review is based on our last few minutes paying the bill, everything else was top notch. Our group of 4 was chatting when our bills arrived and continued to visit, and our waiter came by to gather abit later and told him it was ready. At this time we Bagan to review our bills to pay one with a card and we were paying cash. As soon as I placed the cash in their bifold and placed on the table another waiter came to the table and stated being just like our waiter and dressed similarly. Worth noting she was about 110 5 foot or so with our waiter at 220 plus and 6ft or so wit a great beard. I stated that our waiter had much bigger feet and a great beard with my wife commenting about our matching hairlines... lol right. No next thing we get is she identifies as law enforcement and proceeds to walk away with an elevated voice "I'll kick beat you down" I turned left to my friend and sain now she wants to wrestle. At this point mist people are watching and then just short of screaming she yells "I'll Kick your A$$". And indeed the entire restaurant is watching on what was going on, I simply went back to visiting with our group not knowing what was next. Not long afterwards our waiter walked by and as he did thank me for the tip. No follow up from management nothing. So probably about 15 minutes after this a few other groups had left and we started our departure and still nothing. Over the years we have been here many times as a couple and a few large groups, after this event not to sure we could return for an enjoyable dining experience with their staff threatening some ones life unprovoked. “This is a quant authentic German restaurant run exclusively by Otto and Anita, they cook everything themselves in the back. Anita makes all the baked goods and they even make their own salad dressing. The food was delicious. Not many vegetarian items but the Dill Soup was the star, and paired nicely with their house salad. The desserts and baked goods all looked very nice. I enjoyed the German Spezi soda. The staff is super friendly and the whole experience was warm and unique. I highly recommend it.“
