“We showed up to Portland with a hungry track team of 40. We called Mother’s very last minute, and they were more than willing to accommodate us! We showed up and they had already set up seating for us, and were extremely efficient and kind with rounding up all of the orders. The food came out shockingly fast and was to die for. Me and one of the other coaches split the Mike’s Scramble and it was bliss after one bite. Even with the huge group, the staff was great about checking on everyone and making sure we all had drinks and were served.Overall it was a great experience during a very hectic trip to Oregon. “I was blown away by this place. Everything we ate was exceptional. It’s so cute inside and the servers are very nice. We got the Spanish charcuterie board and the octopus small plate. They even brought us out 4 pieces of the best focaccia bread in the entire world!! After the bread and the charcuterie board we were both very satisfied, but decided to get the octopus anyways because it sounded so good. And we were SO glad we did. Cannot wait to come back.“

“We made a reservation for our party of 4 for brunch and were seated on time. Our server was super friendly and nice. The restaurant was cute. But we would not return here. The breakfasts we ordered were all just ok. My sister had Migas Tart (vegetarian quiche) with potatoes as a side. I ordered random sides as there was no option for someone who is dairy free. My mom ordered mushroom and butternut scramble. The potatoes were over fried and my biscuit was over baked. Nothing special at all about any of the foods we ordered. We were excited to try it and were disappointed. Even if the ambience is good and the server was excellent, if the food isn’t good enough, we don’t return.“

“Fuego Underground is indeed "Fire!" I've been to dozens of Speakeasy establishments in New York, Las Vegas, and even in Central America. Fuego Underground has easily become a top 5 favorite experience for me!It isn't secreted behind an unmarked door or hidden behind a business front, but it has an authentic feel of a Speakeasy from the 20s and 30s. The servers are dressed as flappers, and the interior of the Underground beneath De Fuego bar attached to the Monarch hotel in Clackamas is opulent yet tasteful and reminiscent of the era. There is live piano music at opening, and smooth jazz trios and featured artists later in the evening.The service is on point. Everyone embraces the spirit of the experience being created within the Fuego Underground. The cocktails are heavily weighted toward the whiskey and bourbon drinking crowd, yet all drinks are given the prohibition era spin in presentation. The entrees are predominantly various cuts of beef with some exceptions, and they are of equal quality to any high-end steak house in Portland. The sides are varied and better than most compared to, say, El Goucho or Ringside. I had a Gâteau au Chocolat for desert that was delicious! (even though I had to take it home and eat it 2 hours later for being so full!)Overall, it was an amazing experience! If you love a good Speakeasy, you HAVE to try Fuego Underground. If you just like great steaks and craft cocktails, this is a hidden gem with easy parking, but reservations are recommended. This place is popular and for very good reason.“
