“Wow! We have been fans of Dean's Homestyle Cafe for many years. When the new owner's took it over this year, we were concerned about whether the comfortable, flavorful, "homestyle" experience we were used to would remain. The new team has done great! The staff is super friendly and working hard to make people feel welcome, learning names of regulars, and carrying on a place with a great reputation. The food is still excellent with super generous, well prepared portions and very reasonable prices. Well done!“

A little goes a long way. I have repurchased my favorite flavor combo: fresh apple crisp and the brown sugar simple syrup. The glass bottles are also gorgeous and look great displayed by my espresso machine. Order them all!“

“This little specialty shop is such a worthwhile experience! The entire menu features treats made with matcha, more matcha, and even more matcha. There's also a seasonal flavor of soft serve to pair with your matcha. There's an order kiosk in the corner, but the staff at the counter are kind and helpful - tip them generously!

“This gd coffee is so good. It’s smooth and delicious every time, and Benevolent is one of the only non-chain spots that offers sugar free syrups. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious (that sausage!!!) but best of all, everyone who works here is just cool as hell. I go from my little sugar-free coffee tree and always leave with a smile and a confidence boost. Love y’all!“

The drinks are so delicious, well-crafted, and perfectly balanced. You can really tell the owner is passionate about his craft and genuinely cares about the quality of every drink. Drinks are so so tasty and thoughtfully crafted. I’ve basically stopped going to any other matcha shop because nothing else compares.

The space has such a cute, welcoming vibe while still feeling intimate, sophisticated, and low-key. The people behind the counter are just as lovely. The bagels were excellent, we tried the Mediterranean and the meat bagel, and both were delicious. The cappuccino was authentic and high quality, and the staff were very helpful with recommendations.

A little social media birdie had told me that they were open for dinner from 4:30PM to 9 PM on Friday and Saturdays (make sure to check their website for earlier hours). It’s a cute little spot. Lots of local art on the walls for sale and lots of seating. You can tell they make everything from scratch and you can follow the smoky and tantalizing smells of barbecue right to the door. My friend and I shared the deviled eggs with the bacon lardon-🤤-so good! Flavorful and tender. My friend got the polenta bowl with greens and brisket. I tried a bite and it was delicious! I had the mac & cheese with chicken and bacon lardon topped with breadcrumbs. Tender pasta and bacon and smoked chicken in a creamy sauce-yum! We ordered house red and white wines and both were great selections. We also took three of their dessert selections home for later. The location is a little off the beaten path, but I think it would be worth it for you to come on in and support this local business. I know that my friend and I will be back.“

Super flexible, took care of everything; Their team came to the venue vans loaded, set up, served, cleaned up... it was all included. We had them do our bar too and they did custom his/her drinks for us too. The team is incredibly nice and super flexible. We found out later that they actually filled everyone's water before dinner too. And of course, everything was delish. Our 'ohana was raving about the food. “Erin made a delicious iced lavender mocha for me in January! I'd like to add the coffee was perfect and service excellent. My friend and I had a rough morning and she really turned it around for us with her awesome personality and smiles. I used to go to Grendel's in mornings when visiting friends in the neighborhood and was pleased to have another good cup of Java there. Stay rockin! ❤“

“I saw that there was a winter porridge special for Monday, so took the bus over from SE and had some rice porridge for lunch! The porridge itself didn't taste like much apart from rice, but all of the toppings added a lot of flavor and texture. I scraped my bowl clean! “Discovered Puff Coffees via a couple of cafes which featured this Stumptown origins brew. Picked up beans at one of those locations and was looking forward to visiting this coffee house. Only went in for beans and happily picked out some at the recommendation of the friendly and helpful staff. The inside is quaint, small and cozy. Left with two bags and a complimentary coffee to go. Stumptown has always been a very favorite local roaster of mine so naturally Puff is right at top shelf…utterly top drawer Watson! ;D“

“I really enjoyed my visit! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. The cozy couches were incredibly comfortable, there were lots of plants throughout the space, and the overall aesthetic made it such a relaxing place to spend time. The staff at the front were also incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

I ordered the pesto sandwich, and it was delicious. My only suggestion would be to improve the presentation a bit. Since it’s around $8–9, it would feel a little more special if it came with a small side like chips or if it were plated in a more appealing way. The flavor was great—it just didn’t look as inviting as it tasted.

I also tried the mushroom matcha. While the latte art and presentation were beautiful, the flavor just wasn’t for me. That’s more of a personal preference, and I’d probably try a different drink next time.

Overall, I loved the ambiance and would definitely come back. The beautiful space and genuinely friendly staff made it a wonderful experience.“
