“We love to frequent this unique Oregon City gem. The pastries are delicious and freshly baked every day. The savories are some of our personal favorites. Along with a S’mores scone. We highly encourage you to check it out. Just typing this review makes us want to go pick up breakfast.“

“The space is modern, but the chipper sinage is in a live, love, laugh font. Lots of country kitchen accents. The lighting is hideous. Three design trends in one space with bad lighting makes for a confused and uninviting space.
Service was fast and friendly, my coffee was never empty. The lone mexican line cook was getting hammered with tickets and putting out one photo ready plate after another. Food was decent.“

“I'm so happy I found this place the best matcha I've had, literally drive two hours for this, must go when in PDX. Friendly and fast service. It's matcha galore so everything is delicious the matcha latte with strawberry foam, the cheese foam is a must have at first I thought it would be weird but the combination salty sweet in your mouth is like mind blowing, floats are so creamy. I had to try the bear one it the best of all worlds iced latte/ice cream/bear is made of compact shaved ice plus foam ! Mmmmm heaven!“

“Fetch in Sellwood, Oregon, is a favorite stop in the morning. The espresso here is wonderful — rich, smooth, — though I'm hardly a connoisseur. The staff is friendly, so that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance is perfect for a quick mid-morning coffee break, with the space beautifully lit by giant windows that let in natural light. Overall, it's a warm and inviting atmosphere. For my business and networking meetings, Fetch Coffee Roasters is one of the two places I suggest meeting (the other is Slow Pour).
Lately, Fetch has become a big part of my morning routine. After dropping off my kid at school, I pop in for a quick espresso before heading down the street to pick up a mobile Starbucks order for my wife. I love efficiency and keeping things streamlined, so I've tried to tolerate Starbucks espresso, but I just can't (you probably know what I mean). Since Fetch is right down the block from Starbucks, I can take advantage of the fast service, so I'm in and out in no time, without feeling rushed.
If you're in Sellwood and appreciate good coffee in a welcoming environment, Fetch is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or just looking for a peaceful spot to unwind, it’s a gem in the neighborhood.
P.S. There's always a few vegan treats in the pastry case, so that's a nice bonus.“

“I’ve been coming to this boba shop often since moving over to Clackamas and it’s by far my favorite boba shop now! I tend to get the yuzu pinacolada, roasted milk tea, or thai tea but today I decided to try their seasonal brown sugar pumkin spice oatmilk drink and it’s so good! I’m a sucker for pumpkin spice and plan on going here whenever I’m craving it until it goes out of season ? Also love that they host kpop cupsleeve events here sometimes! The owner/ employees are also super nice and friendly ?“

“We enjoyed dinner at Bumblebee on 11/1/24 with some friends and were blown away. This was more than dinner; it was an EXPERIENCE. The food quality, presentation, and care given to each dish was second to none. They truly have something special here, Sunny and her team certainly showed their talents! Thank you:)“

“I discovered the Hello Cafe recently and it’s wonderful. It’s a great place for meetups and conversation. Busy, but not crowed and not overly noisy. Great coffee drinks and pastries baked in house. Delicious salads, soups, and sandwiches for lunch. Highly recommended!“

“This is a great place to grab a coffee and maybe something else when you are going to OHSU or in the area. Service is fast and friendly, even though it's very busy. You may need to find a table in the OHSU lobby next door, or outside, when it's busy.“

“Delicious and customizable breakfast sandwiches made by Joo. His coffee is also very good and there is a full range of choices. Fun fact: Joo is a pickleball champ in his spare time! Rosa is the resident mascot and she is adorable. This is the place you want to get your morning coffee and breakfast.
Kid-friendliness: Joo and Rosa are great with kids!“

“We met up with a friend from out of town with a four-year-old. I thought it would be fun to go there, since they have the art and playroom, It was the best decision we made. We were able to enjoy our coffee and breakfast. While the kids played and we could have adult conversation. I can't really comment on the food.As we just had basic breakfast. But we were also looking at the lunch menu, and we'll be back.“

“We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor. The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event. -Nicola & Lou“

“I had the charbroiled salmon, and while it was good, it didn’t match the description. The ingredients, like the salt rub, were missing, so it was pretty plain. However, I’d still recommend it.
Parking: Street parking but usually full close to the restaurant“

“Lovely boba tea shop my friend & I found & decided to try. The Thai tea was delicious! I got the cheese foam & wow they did a great job. My friend got a hazelnut boba that was also yummy. The hazelnut isn’t too sweet like most places which made it even more enjoyable. The staff were kind & friendly, they made our drinks so fast too. On another note, the price was very reasonable & a bit cheaper than other places I’ve been to. Definitely will come here again for some Thai tea boba & it’s a must visit for local boba lovers!“
“I can always count on a perfect cup of coffee (OK, an almond mocha), and they usually remember what I drink when I visit. A nice personal touch. The sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits are delicious.
Parking: Zombie Coffee is primarily drive-thru, but there are enough parking spots if you'd rather do walk up and sit at the picnic table.“
“I used River Forum Cafe for my employers team lunch for 10+ people for a two day event. The shop was a wonderful shop to partner with! Everything was organized and ready to go at pick up. The store owner is incredibly kind, generous and appreciative. We really loved supporting this local business and encourage others in the area to do the same!“

“Love this local spot! They use the best chai (Dragonfly) and have both spicy and sweet options - or ask them to mix it like I do for the perfect balance. Great vibe, amazing baristas who have turned my day around several times, delicious gluten free treat options. Plus they support the local community in so many ways and have handmade gifts for sale as well!“

“Such great wraps and sandwiches! This has become my go-to spot for picking up lunch. This is a tiny little kiosque-style cafe in the middle of a large office building. The service is excellent! They have always been efficient and prompt. Highly recommend.“

“I was invited to play Mah Jongg at the Jewish community center. I've never been here before and had no idea how big it is. I didn't have time to wonder around and see what was all there, but the little Cafe was nice and clean, with plenty to choose from for drinks and food. There is security at the door and you must fill out a card to get into the building at the reception desk. Lots of nice people. I hope to go back in the future.“
“We had a lovely evening meal and would highly recommend this restaurant to others. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive and our food was delicious. My first choice (the pie) was unavailable but the pasta dish I selected instead was a great choice. All tables were full and there was a buzz and perfect ambience inside.“

“The doughnuts were more cakey and less heavily fried / greasy than your traditional doughnut which was a welcome change! I don’t know what that dense little glazed bar we got was but it was extremely delicious.
Fascinating flavors like lavender, strawberry crumble, etc. I would most certainly return!“
“Sam's Cafe is located in the heart of the OHSU hospital on the first floor of Sam Jackson Pavillion. Thew brew local favorite, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, beans for their drip coffee and espresso and they have Stumptown cold brew nitro on tap. This place has a unique feel with a duality of energies in the atmosphere. The hustle, bustle, and confidence of medical professionals in their scrubs and professional attire as they snag a much-needed espresso boost is countered by the slower energy of patients and guests who are content to merely sit and sip, enjoying a brief escape from whatever brought them to the hospital campus. Too much poetry for a coffee shop review? Maybe. ?I came in looking for a breakfast sandwich before jumping back into my commute... They don't serve those. So I opted, instead for a toasted jalapeño and cheese bagel with cream cheese and a hot white mocha. Delicious! My only complaint was that they left a bit of extra room for whipped cream, which I should have forgone for two more ounces of mocha!Lots of snacks are available. The staff is friendly and efficient.Sam's Cafe is a great option if you need good coffee and you're at the OHSU campus.“

“Spencer and his crew are always fantastic! The food and service are both outstanding! And Spencer does such a great job of supporting local farms, etc. to support our communities to add the freshest ingredients to his regular menu and daily specials. I appreciate everything Cafe Rowan tries to do!
In response to a review of Cafe Rowan by “Susan me” from 2 months ago: Your review of the service is completely ridiculous and wrong. This is Portland. We help each other out. We have several “please bus your own dishes” restaurants that are fantastic! A little help from patrons to support local restaurants by bussing your own dishes into a provided bin goes a long way. It helps keep staffing costs lower; not to mention it takes only a few moments of your time, and it provides a little exercise which is a good thing after indulging in all the delicious food you just consumed.
Cheers to Cafe Rowan!“

“We stumbled upon Bertie Lou's while looking for a brunch place near to where we had a nearby event later in the morning, and we're very glad we did! Not only were the two entrées we ordered both fantastic (although with a minor nitpick on one), but my wife and I saw several other interesting items on the menu that will most assuredly have us coming back for more!
We were immediately seated upon arrival at 11am on a Saturday, which seems close to impossible in Portland these days. I went with the Oaks Bottom Omelet, and my wife had the Bertie Cristo, with a side order of biscuits and gravy to split and share with our toddler son. Being generally not a fan of Hollandaise, I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my omelet; the sweet notes harmonized well with the bacon, garlic and tomato in a way I had not anticipated. Would definitely order again!
On the other end of the table, my wife also loved her Bertie Cristo, but found it to be a tad burned; this apparently is a common complaint here, and its the only reason I docked a star from this review, as it seems to be either intentional, or simply an reoccurring oversight on the part of the cook. It doesn't ruin the dish, but it does detract from it slightly. The biscuits and gravy, however, were above reproach, and enjoyed by all in equal measure!
Fantastic home-style greasy spoon cooking like this is a real treat, especially when there's a unique spin on a dish to make it stand out from the rest. Bertie Lou's Cafe has this quality in spades, and has one of the most compelling brunch menus I've seen in a café in a long while, and will likely take several return visits to explore them all. Hopefully, they'll dial back the burner a bit before the next one!“
