Flavor, freshness, execution of literally every single detail (even ones you don't think about until you're made to notice), and the fact it's all accessibly priced kinda made me cry when i tried food from here the other day.

For lack of a quicker comparison, this is like Elden Ring coming out after years of being told the best you can get is sysco-sourced AAA reboots of the same "deliverable" concepts.

“This hands down is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland OR. It the same quality of other top spots in the US like Nobu , O-Ya , and Morimoto . The location is perfect located in the Pearl district. The chefs are high quality and the fish is extremely fresh. They have a great but simple flavor approach. The service is warm, helpful, and appreciative. I always ask for Joy as she is a true professional and loves providing an exceptional experience on every visit.“

Atmosphere is tight inside with outside seat options but I don’t believe it was covered, inside was too warm for us to sit inside, it is a small strip mall store vibe. Service is slow so may not want to pick this place if in a hurry. Despite the atmosphere and slow service the food was great and prices were very reasonable.“

“Small sushi spot close by the waterfront. Stopped by for takeout and took about 15 mins or so for order to be ready, which wasn’t bad at all. The restaurant itself is very small and I would not recommend dining in - just order to-go.

The only thing knocking off a star is that, when I asked if they had tamago on their menu (or could prepare it), the lady looked at me like a chicken with its head cut off. Every sushi place I had been to previously had it on their menu and I didn’t think it was too obscure of a question, but I guess I was wrong.

Oh, well. The sushi itself was very good quality and I enjoyed it a lot. I’ll definitely be back!“

“I’m a huge ramen fan and my spicy seafood ramen last night (my first visit) was among the best ramen I’ve had. This is a bold statement in Portland, but it’s better than Afuri. (And less expensive.). Abundant seafood. Excellent noodles and perfect spice level. Great service. Vegan options. Not horribly busy (yet). And Japanese American owned and operated. “Visited twice since I been here in Portland. Great vibe, nice, and friendly employees. I had been suffering depression all week and hadn't eaten. Stop by after doing my laundry. Had some miso soup, calamari, and Jack Daniels jack and jingle to drink. The bartender, the music, the ambience, and food was really good. Changed my mood and I got out later Saturday night and had a great Sunday. I highly recommend this place. My co-worker says the spicy tuna and jalapeno poppers are awesome. “I was craving some sushi and bomba and thankfully this is right across the street from my place. The sushi was extremely fresh and delicious. The mango boba I got was so good! It is sometimes hard to find good, fresh boba. The real star of the show was the spam masubi. The spam was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
