The Chirashi Bowl is my favorite because fresh lemon, wasabi and shoyu sauce highlight the assorted sashimi and rice. “Couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate! Our only complaint is that we can’t bring Koya back home with us. This place is so cozy and when you walk in you feel like you are part of the family. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Every single roll that came out was prettier than the next. We could have ate the entire menu and I don’t think there would have been one roll we would have been disappointed with. We got 12 rolls and I couldn’t take the pictures fast enough because the sushi was too fresh and begged to be eaten. Thank you Koya for making a special day even better. “Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. “This place I would highly recommend. The serves here was very good and nice even though it took me forover for some people in my party to choose what they wanted. They also have good atmosphere and the tables are clean and doesn't take that much time to wait (5-10 minutes for my party). The food was also very good and I hope you guys are able to come her with a party and have a good time as well a I did when I came.

Also side note (that doesn't have to do with my review of this place) I would like to apologize for not posting in such a long time but I will be able to start posting agian.“

I've been to so many sushi places and this by far is THE best place.
The nicest staff and just very wholesome.

We watched a little boy go up to a server and ask for the bathroom to wash his hands. The boy couldn't have been more than 5yrs.
The server had a big smile, got down to the little boy height and looked the little boy in the eye so he could listen.
The server the. Showed him the bathroom (one person bathroom), held the door open and help3d the boy turn the water on. He kept the door open and smiled the entire time.
It was so heartwarming to see this interaction.
It actual brought warmness to my heart.
This is just the service.

The food was outstanding. The amount of fish they put in their rolls is amazing and oh so fresh tasting.

“Went here on a whim with a colleague and the atmosphere is gorgeous and refined but has a taste of izakaya to it! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the shrimp tempura maki and the wagyu (from Hokkaido, not American wagyu) nigiri and it was perfect! My colleague had the sashimi bento and bao bun. She fell in love with the bao bun and miso soup that came with the bento. Staff are super nice, attentive, and ready to answer any questions about the menu. I will definitely be back!“

“This restaurant serves above average sushi for a very reasonable price. Could you get more expensive sushi somewhere else ?. Yes. You could pay $15 a plate to get this food and have it be more high-end. But for the very reasonable prices they charge, this is one of the best sushi choices around. “Fresh, beautifully presented sushi with great variety.

We ordered a mix of rolls and appetizers, and everything was consistently good. The rolls were well-balanced—not overly sauced—and the fish tasted fresh. The spicy tuna poke had a nice kick without overpowering the flavor of the fish, and the blistered shishito peppers were a perfect starter.

Presentation was thoughtful and elegant, especially the specialty rolls and nigiri. You can tell care went into both the food and plating. Service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed but polished…great for a casual dinner or a special night out.

The beer I got tasted like the lines were clean, and was cold. The method of ordering from the screen and/or the belt without the restaurant having too many plates out at once is a good way to keep things fresh!

I really think their crab salad mix used as the base for most rolls could use less mayo. It overwhelms the other flavors too much for my taste. And in general I felt things were too mayonnaise heavy inside rolls and as sauces of top. If they could change up their recipes to be a little less mayonnaise heavy it would make it one of my favorite conveyer belt sushi spots in the area.“

Everything was incredibly fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. The fish tasted super fresh, and the ingredient combinations were just perfect — nothing to add, nothing to change. I’m genuinely impressed.

I ordered three rolls, and it basically turned into three full meals — they’re that filling and generous in size.

They didn't bring one of the items we ordered but by the time we noticed we were wrapping up and had somewhere to be. The conveyor belt style isn't done right at this place, there are no signs or labels or order to the items put out. It's completely random and you don't know what you are picking up. We ended up ordering everything from the waitress instead since nothing was identifiable. Other places we've been to have labels for each section on the conveyor belt and only that item is placed in that section. The price was great though, the place was comfortable, and we would go again.“

“I saw the negative reviews and was dismayed. BUT when we got there and saw the amount of people who were enjoying themselves. This amount of people would not have been and I was heartened by this. First off the service people. When we asked they were prompt. The sushi filled me up. The variety was astounding. I tried most of their different prepared vegetables dishes. Beef dishes as well. My wife ate her fill of various shellfish and other different kinds of seafood. The little dishes of ice cream was a nice touch for desert. It has a bit of everything for everybody. I highly recommend this restaurant. This is our favorite restaurant. Easy to find. Easy to get to. Lots of parking room.“

“Decent little sushi spot. Conveyor style if that matters to you. The conveyor was kept full with fresh plates and the chef/staff were constantly making food and filling plates.
Food was good, staff was polite although they were very busy and felt a bit like an inconvenience when asking for something.
