“I wanted to say thank you to Ozzie, Izz & the rest of the TommyO’s team. I had a catering order for a company luncheon for 50 people. I placed the order Monday for Friday morning. Pick up food was ready when I got there at 10:30 am. They even accommodated by making a side plate for a gluten-free individual. The customer had requested a different Hawaiian restaurant and they were so happy that I didn’t take their recommendation and I brought Tommy‘Os everybody loved it. “Great food with plenty of selections. Fast service. Can get crowded at times as it’s a smaller shop. Wait time not usually long during popular hours. Other times no issue with plenty of seating choices. Have seating available at the counter and can watch the chefs prepare the dishes. Family friendly with plenty of non sushi sashimi options. The tempura bento box is a great choice. Parking sucks as the lot is shared by multiple businesses, Legacy clinic, and a hotel. The parking spaces are very small so don’t bring your oversized pickup.“

My elder sister had a day where spice was absolutely horrible to her because her stomach hurt, and they swapped out the spicy tuna for the crab salad when asked politely! “My husband and I wanted to venture out and check out a new sushi spot. We tend to always visit the same place in Vancouver and chose to try something in Portland. I came across this restaurant on Yelp and saw it had great reviews so we thought we’d make our way out. It’s located off of 122nd and it’s next to a little corner store market. Very easy to miss and parking lot is very small. We were the only ones in there when we walked in. An Asian male greeted us right away and allowed us to pick any table to sit at. He brought over waters and played and utensils while we looked over the menu. There was quite a bit of options for the sushi and bento dishes, as well as the other Chinese food options. We order chicken gyoza, katsu chicken (which came with miso soup), 2 different sushi rolls and the chicken lo mein. Everything tasted fresh and the food items were all delicious. My husband loved all the dishes and rated everything a 5-star. The service was great and the restaurant was small and clean. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.“

“This has the best yellowtail I have ever had, melts in your mouth. It was super busy when we went on sunday 07/05, we sat really quickly and when we needed to order, it was easy to get their attention and we got our order super quickly.

“Washabi sushi is one of a unique place to try donut and burger sushi. The staffs are pretty nice and friendly. Foods are absolutely delicious and tasty with nice presentations. I would love to come back and introduce my friends to visit this place.“

“Yami sushi is easily the best all-around Asian food that you can get in Portland and their difference is in the small detail of each dish, every presentation. Each sushi roll is jampacked with flavor and bursting with ingredients in a perfect harmony and presentation. You can really tell the love that the chefs put into every single roll that they make. The quantity is also very generous, and portions will put you in a satisfying coma afterwards. They have a lot of various menu items, none of which you can go wrong with selecting. Whether that’s noodles, soups, rice dishes, sushi rolls, or the underrated appetizer/starters (spicy edamame 🔥, seaweed salad, tempura) and desserts ( Bing Soo is better than any standalone place in Portland ). They also have a lot of interesting beverage and alcoholic choices. The environment is very family run and cozy, and the real beautiful orchids and plant decorations on each table are very nice touch. The soy sauce is also handmade? I could drink a whole bottle.

The service is always very warm, welcoming and responsive. They take care of you right and it doesn’t take much to feel familiar.

Shout out to the kalbi item on the menu, which is also better than any Korean restaurant I’ve been to in Portland. A place full of hidden gems and lovely individuals working hard in their community.

“The sushi here is fresh and delicious! Had veggie and spicy tuna rolls and the veggies were fresh and crisp, and the tuna was generous.
The server was super busy and you could tell she was stressed, but still made time for a genuine smile and answered my questions, and even brought my to-go order outside to me where I was waiting with my dog when it was ready.

“The restaurant building is an interesting structure and is the main reason we decided to try it. Plus there have always been many cars parked in the parking lot ... normally a good sign. Now I am wondering if it is overflow from Heidi's Restaurant across the street.
Service was polite but I wonder why staff was gathered in the central area with supplies sitting on tables in what should have been reserved for the bar.
If you like GIANT portions this is your place. My wife and I each ordered orange chicken with pork fried rice. It came with egg flower soup and appitizers of shrimp, egg rolls, and bbq pork. We left totally stuffed with three large takeout boxes. It was easily enough food for a family of five.
I would have preferred smaller portions, some spice in the cooking and a lower price. $50 is fair for so much food but why serve so much for just two orders. At least give the customers a warning in case they want to split an order.
As we left, we spotted the restaurant across the street ... it will definately be Heidi's next time.“

“I always order takeout online from here. The sushi is delicious, and there’s a huge selection for a very reasonable price. I’ve tried many sushi places in the area, and this is still my favorite in terms of quality and value. I’m very picky when it comes to sushi, so that says a lot.
