“My wife brought me here for my 70th birthday. She asked, "where would you like to go?" "Surprise me.", I told her. Oh my! My grandmother from Puebla, Mexico would have loved this place. The tortillas were fresh, Handmade! I ordered the Pozole. Oh so rich and fragrant and bustling with pork, hominy and a very wonderful broth. Did I mention the tortillas?? Oh Lord!! I plan to bring my three adult children here for my son's birthday. I plan to eat my way through the menu, over the course of the next year or so. I can see that there are many others who love this place. The entire time we were having dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. Yep, this is a gem of a restaurant. “We have traveled all over the world and eaten at a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and fast food. I only say this because it is to emphasize what comes next. This is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we have had in a long time.

The food is excellent. I had the pot roast and my husband had the meatloaf. The pot roast was fall of the fork good! I joked with the server it was as good as my Mom’s. The server had no issues substituting for my husband’s dietary needs (veggies instead of potatoes). The food came out hot and fairly quickly.

I cannot rave about the service enough. Our server was attentive, upbeat, kind and helpful. The atmosphere is comfortable, not too noisy and plenty of space for busy weekends. We had such a nice dinner we went back for breakfast. Over all, a really nice experiences.“

“We visited this super cute, quaint pizza restaurant on a family trip to Portland. We were a large group so we made a reservation and they happily accommodated. We tried a variety of pizzas, crust dips, and desserts and everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. “Great options, their fried tofu (tao huu tod) was my favorite, crispy and dry in the best way. The potato dish (mon tod) was also a very good starter. Their salad is very well done and their vegan curry might be my favorite, very herbaceous and less coconut-y than most. The pad see ew was good but a little forgettable compared to everything else I’ve tried. I look forward to returning for lunch sometime and trying their fried rice, curry noodles and choi.“

“Kate’s all vegan and gluten free ice cream is an inclusive dream for many people with dietary restrictions and a sweet tooth 😜 Everyone working there has been accommodating when I’ve asked about other food sensitivities, too, like oat. It’s ridiculously delicious and I recommend the ice cream sandwiches if you can have oats!“

“I have been to this wonderful spot a million times but stayed in my comfort zone of the tacos. I've literally had them all, even the burrito, and burrito bowls. However, something told me that comfort and change can't sit together so I decided to try something new tonight. I tried the scrumptious pulled Jack sandwich, which came with heaping sides of Mac and cheese, and greens. I also got my 6 yr old the tamales. Before I noticed he scarfed down his tamales and was asking for a bite of mine. I was only able to try a single bite of his and man oh man I wanted another one just for myself lol... Here we both are now both stuffed to the max but of course, what a good dinner with a great dessert. We are eating the yum yum yummmaaay blackberry peach cobbler... If you ain't been here, get here, and if you have, try something different next time, I bet you'll love it better or just the same as your favorite.

To top it all off she is such a majestic being, very social( I mean we all have our days right?) and down to earth, and her love language is servitude!!!

The Death Row Plate is my go-to, a stacked sampler loaded with Hurricane chicken, Korean fried chicken, and poke that will knock your balls clear across Pacific Hwy. Also… the grilled shrimp plate?? This was our second stop on a Portland dumpling tour. Killer Banh Mi & Momo is a small spot in a strip mall that Google Maps seems to have a hard time navigating to... Still, we managed to slide into the parking lot eventually and parked easily. The restaurant is bright and colorful and smells terrific. There were homemade chicken pickles and homemade pork pickles in jars on the counter. Be sure to try some!
The tasting that we got with the tour included 4 dumplings; 3 vegetarian and one with chicken. All four were cooked to perfection and seasoned nicely. Not too hot and certainly not plain! The first momo was crispy on the outside and dressed with a chickpea and onion relish (?) that complimented the veg filling. The second momo was a bit more savory with a wrapper that had a tender bite to it. The green dumpling was about what you'd expect with dim sum, but the sauce it sat in was a complete surprise - rich and brothy with just a hint of heat. And the egg rolls were crispy and tender with a bit of sweet sauce.
