“We're locals from Hillsboro and every few years we use our September anniversary as an excuse to get away from the kids and drink wine in Yamhill county. Every trip is to a different BnB and each day is spent discovering new vineyards.

This most recent trip we were keen on good wine with a view, and got no less than four separate recommendations to visit Penner-Ash. We swung by on a Saturday afternoon as walk-ins but were told they had no availability for tastings. We were offered bottle service but decided to make a reservation for Sunday morning to try again, and boy are we glad we did!

The view from the patio is absolutely amazing! The sommelier was charming and delightful! I'm a sucker for any opportunity to learn and she was an absolute treasure trove of knowledge about wine making, which meshed very well with the structure of our tasting: 3 wines, exactly identical but with different soil? Wow, I have been to dozens of these at other vineyards and never learned as much as I did here.

We will definitely make a point of returning, thanks again for such a wonderful morning!“

“Got the chicken and gyoza and everything was delicious and fresh, the proportions are pretty good for the price. The only thing that wasn’t so great was that they’re closing at 5 these days, and the service runs a little gruff, be ready to order when you step to the counter! I’m really grateful to have this little gem in town, will be giving them all my money! Haha“

“I have gone a couple times now. My friend and I attended Bingo night and it was so fun! It is a beautiful space and recently enjoyed the covered patio with 2 other moms with our young babies in their strollers and felt very comfortable and relaxed. I really enjoyed the Stoller 2022 Pinot Noir and my friend had the Chehalem Valley Chardonnay. They have a refreshing cocktail menu and I liked the Lavender Lemon Drop. The pork belly BLT was delicious!!! My favorite sandwich right now. They have a veggie sandwich as well that is loaded. Everyone in the group loved the cookies. I highly recommend this spot and looking forward to checking out some of their other event nights.“

“Wine was very good. I think what set them apart was their Rose, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were all worth purchasing, and we did. Seems rare for a winery to excel across multiple categories.

My only complaint is the tasting fee is expensive given you need to purchase $70 or $75 worth of product to waive just one tasting. For $35 you’re better off ordering 3-4 glasses at table for your party. The tasting pours are tiny…an ounce or less. Truly, just a taste. Go to catch the view and enjoy a glass of wine…they’re all delicious and worth the price. Don’t waste money on the tasting.“

“We took a day trip to visit the winery during a girls trip to Portland and it was one of the highlights of our whole trip! We were 5 ladies in our 40s and we had the pleasure of Sara being our guide for the tasting and she did not disappoint! We sat on the patio and the views and weather were both divine! Sara served us yummy wine and explained all the terminology and history and absolutely made our time there so fun! We cannot recommend this place enough! One of our friends does not drink and enjoyed the fresh juice flight! Great time! Thank you Sara for the wine and the laughs!“

“I was a club member years ago when Dave and Mary opened this vineyard. I went back yesterday under the new ownership, Cooper Mountain, and it is still lovely with great tasting wines. I don’t like tannic reds or oaky Charonneys where as my boyfriend does. We both found wines we both enjoyed and some we each liked more than each other. Arborbrook continues with a very wide range of flavors!! They also are all organic and biodynamic, I highly recommend !“

“We visited Archer several years ago. Their wine is some of the best!! I placed an order in November 2024 but hadn’t received any replies or my order. Phone calls were not answered. Finally today 8 Jan 2025 I made contact with Trevor. Ownership has recently changed hands. He is backlogged but getting the orders slowly out!!! I’ll be looking forward to seeing my bottles arrive!!!“

“We had an amazing meal here! The food was delicious and had generous portions. My fiancé ordered dinner combo #11 and mentioned that this is a time where every single item in his combo he absolutely loved. Not all restaurants can nail every single dish, but Lucky Fortune did. I ate the crab puffs which were perfectly crisp with a savory, creamy filling. The beef in the lo mein I ate was so tender that I could cut it with my chopsticks. Absolutely delicious. The egg rolls from my fiancé's combo was extra crispy and delicious, and the cabbage within was well seasoned. I mentioned how good it was to the woman working here and she said they make the crab puffs and egg rolls by hand daily. The commitment to quality, handmade food is something you can taste. “Figured I'd Try the Food, I was greeted promptly by a nice young man who offered drink by the time he came back I gave the order and ordered the General Tso chicken and fried rice. It was delivered promptly, piping hot and with enough portions where I as a 6 foot 1 big guy needed a to go Box. I found it a bit mild as General Tso goes and spice, but it was good. Seemed like a good family owned place to eat. I'll be back.“

“On our way to the coast, my family and I stopped in here for dinner, and I was immediately impressed with the pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive.

The food was amazing...my wife and I both had the daily special: a spicy chicken teriyaki bowl that had a lovely heat to it, the expertly grilled chicken and some of the tastiest crab Rangoon's I've ever had. (The Thai basil is a fantastic touch!) My kids loved it, too, which is an amazing feat, all things considered... ;)

“I like the newberg location more then the mcminnville location but there's a language barrier issue and my orders are wrong more then they are right. If you can't speak good enough English to take an order correctly then have someone else who can!“

“Very traditional Chinese American food. The service was excellent. We got a meal for 4 to go. The portions are very generous. While we waited I had asked for some soup I was really hungry. They generously provided me a cup of soup. The inside is not fancy, but they do have a nice bar (I did not go into the bar. But seemed decent enough) I would really recommend this place. STOP and get a meal to go for the coast. You won't regret it. Oh yes, its super affordable too!“
