Mumbo Gumbo PDX Reviews
Nothing bad on the menu! I constantly cycle between the trinity, the staple and the shrimp and grits. The best thing on the menu though is the Weekend Crab Boil! So much food, so much delicious. And you can’t go wrong with either the sweet potato pie OR the banana pudding for dessert; both have an appropriate amount of whipped cream!
At first I thought the prices were a tad high but then I ate the food and omg the quality is outstanding! I haven't had a catfish po boy that good since I was in New Orleans!
Best Gumbo ive had in years!!

Mumbo Gumbo is a food cart with gumbo, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, the Trinity, the Staple, the Nipsey Hustle, shrimp sandwich and banana pudding. The gumbo is New Orleans style with dark roux, chicken, sausage and tomatoes and is legit good, perfect and delicious. The shrimp and grits is very good. The shrimp sandwich is cold but really good with sauce, shrimp and pickled cabbage. The red beans and rice is perfect with andouille. The Trinity is good flavor, filling and comforting on a winter night. Service is personable, attentive and friendly. The cart cashier is very friendly and the owner loves to serve people. Prices are reasonable and the sodas are overpriced but also available. The pod is low key, locals only and has good vibes. Gumbo is available in standard or custom. People will definitely be back and highly recommend this cart.
