When Ace Hotel first opened you could get Stumptown delivered room service. Like the grand cafes of Buenos Aires, a staff member brought it to you on a silver tray. I didn't even drink coffee until I experienced this place. The love and attention to detail and pride the whole team takes in their work is evident. First time visiting a Stumptown coffee roasters afters hearing about the brand pretty often throughput my life in Portland. I found the cappuccino to be pretty good, nothing outstanding and unexpected but just good! This shop is very small, meant for a quick in and out instead of relaxing inside. The music inside is also pretty loud so only go here if you want a drink and go on your way.

$9.00 for two hot drinks? I guess you'll pay a little more or a little less elsewhere. My cup of Americano was resoundingly okay.Seeing a tip jar for counter service irks and embarrasses me, especially when one considers how much Stumptown Coffee Roasters charges. If there isn't enough profit to pay the staff a good wage when you want nine bucks for two drinks, add a dollar to the up-front price instead of putting me on the spot. I'll take it or leave it.
