“Awesome little place. Right on the Streetcar route. Abba is pioneering new coffee and drink options; notably the Pistachio latte and the sesame seed latte. These are not made with flavored syrup, instead made in-house into a paste. Abba also boasts a beautiful live in house coffee tree.Parking: Abba is right along the streetcar track in NW Portland, easy to access by foot, bike, or streetcar. Parking is possible, but not nearly as fun as the streetcar.“
“The place looks not so orderly but the guy that worked there was friendly and the people there seemed also friendly. The coffee was very affordable with a mediocre taste.Parking: Even if one might not find just next to their door you should be able able to find a free parking spot very close this place.“
“Great and friendly service, and the drinks are so good. Definitely try their seasonal drinks but if you’re weary try their regular menu. The coconut cream latte and Ube latte are some of my favorite, but on days I crave matcha the strawberry matcha is so refreshing. For food I’d definitely recommend the house special bánh mì and for dessert get a donut from Heyday usually in a display case by the register.“
“Mudd Works has turned into my #1 favorite place to get coffee. As someone who was born and raised in Portland—and drinks coffee every morning—that’s saying something. Their Chili Mex is the most well-balanced interpretation of a Mexican Mocha I’ve had to date, and their service is impeccable. You can tell they genuinely love their work and their customers. Mudd Works is a hidden gem, don’t miss out!“
“Hands down best cappuccino foam in town. Possibly even the state. Maybe the world? idk I haven’t been to every coffee shop but I figure why bother at this point. Amazing drinks, pastries, prices, and, most importantly, incredible mother daughter duo making the world a better place one drink at a time.“
“BREWED LIFE has been my daily coffee / Espresso supplier for years and I'm so grateful to the AMAZING main HBIC Randa ❤️ She always has a genuine smile for me and every single day makes sure my drink is the way I like; integrity matters. small business mean a lot to the community and this one has my heart. The coffee beans are the BEST! I grab a bag to take home each week and for gift giving!“
“This coffee shop is our little neighborhood gem! The owner is fantastic and always brightens my day with fun conversation and delicious, high quality beans. I just bought a bag of beans to make at home and the taste is superbly balanced and noticeably roasted with meticulous care and craftsmanship. I love this little shop!“
“A beautifully clean, airy, and comfortable industrial space. It's modern and cozy-a great place to sit and read solo, or come chat with a friend. Service is friendly and everything feels curated with great attention to detail. Pour over menu is extensive. I had coffee (they have fun fusion lattes to explore), and will want to come back to make my way through their equally extensive tea menu. Food is limited to a few mochi sweet pastries-I wouldn't have minded a bit more selection. The stoneware elevates the drinking experience. I recommend getting your drinks "for here"; sit, and enjoy for a moment.“
“All killer, no filler. Incredible traditional coffee drinks. Expert barista. Prices that are probably too low for the excellent quality. This isn't a place where you will study or meet people. It's a tiny shop. But it's a place where your 10 minutes there will rejuvenate your day. It's quiet, smooth, and excellent.“
“I generally gauge coffee shops by their cold brew, and this coffee shop has a smooth, creamy, very easy to drink cold brew option. I ordered a sesame bagel and hopped into a little booth to do some work. Overall, the vibe is very laid back, great music, and strong WiFi. I’m really glad I ducked into this cute little coffee shop!“
“This place is similar to my favorite coffee shops I used to visit in Awassa and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The coffee is great and I like the upstairs area with comfortable seats and a quiet place to read or talk with a friend. I love that the shop is dedicated to their Grandmother Yigebe.“
“The cafe has a rustic, industrial feel. Along with drinks you can purchase small batch loose leaf teas and coffee beans. The service is quick but thorough. I love that milk alternatives are already factored into the price! No need to pay more. The soy latte that I got was perfect.“
“Lovely staff and great coffee. I love their chai coffee in particular. I wish they were open longer on weekends as I might like to try a cocktail they apparently have the ability to make....but such drinks in the morning are not desirable and during weekdays they close at 5pm.“
“I really enjoyed the cool vibes of this coffeehouse. My cappuccino was good as well. The only thing missing for me was customer service. The staff wasn't very engaging, but if you just want to chill and grab a good coffee, this is a good spot.“
“I have been using them for my espresso supplier for almost a year now!! I get compliments all the time and all my customers love their coffee!! I've introduced the nitro cold brew and it has been a success as well! Customer service is phenomenal!KellyNaked Cat CoffeeStayton, Or“
“I go into this fabulous shop for beauty medicine. It feeds my soul to look and feel all the wonderful textures and colors. I feel inspired to revive beauty in so many aspects of my life as I peruse all the little nooks and crannies that are filled with hand-made wonders of art and nature. Thank you to all you amazing, gifted women who pour your hearts into your art and share it on such an inviting display.“
“One of OG coffee houses in Portland still offers delicious coffee in an industrial setting. I like the high ceilings, huge windows and solid furniture. I feel they lend themselves to creativity. I found free parking on a side street, but there's 2-hour metered parking right outside. The only perk of the metered parking is that it keeps the sketchy vans that never leave away- iykyk I still get a kick out the fact Jerry Seinfeld was here. My service experience was prompt-unlike his Portland famous experience“
“I ordered the Mexican Hot chocolate with almond milk made with the chocolate from Vietnam. It's rich with some spice to it and not just hot.My wife got the chocolate chill. It was super good! This has been the best drinking chocolate experience I've had by far.Highly recommend it.“
“Been wanting to try this place and am really glad I did. I will definitely be back. The breakfast sando doesn't look like much, but it tastes incredible. Got my son a waffle and that was also tasty. Would love to try more of their coffees!“
“I can't say enough wonderful things about our neighborhood coffee shop. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans and a warm inviting atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and thoughtful. They know my husband and I regular coffee order. Now lets talk about the coffee. Its not just a drink but they roast everything in house. They source the beans meticulously and it shows in every cup. The pastries and treats are also quite delicious. The quality of the coffee, the warmth of staff and the cozy atmosphere make this coffee shop an absolute gem in our neighborhood.“
“Sipping a natural Colombian Wush Wush pour over. Tasty, bright, very complex, just like sweet juice. Intense but in a good way.A house blend cappuccino (Brazil + Ethiopia) was good, too. A tad too roasty, but it’s always a tad roasty if there’s Brazil in it, usually. Still smooth and not smokey. Also there’s food served here that looks good. Didn’t have any, since wasn’t hungry, but had I been, I’d definitely check it out.Great shop!“
“Met a friend here for coffee and loved it. I tried an ube + coconut iced coffee and it was delicious. They also have each of us a free cookie (also delicious) with our coffees which was delightful. I will certainly be back!Kid-friendliness: They have kid friendly beverages and cookies“
“Such a cozy neighborhood spot down by the riverfront! My boyfriend and I split the maple breakfast sandwich and the breakfast burrito (adding in the bacon, pickled onions and sriracha mayo) and both were SO delicious and filling. The oats and honey latte iced added the perfect bit of sweetness to our breakfast too. I am already planning to return to try out the chocolate chip cookies and other baked goods (and the beers!! Highly recommend!“
“This is similar to a layered cinnamon roll and is best enjoyed as per me by pulling-out the layers. It has the perfect chewiness coming through the thick layers laden with butter. To every bite of the layer, goes well with every sip of the Cappuccino.“
“Great place, came during a roadtrip during thanksgiving up from san francisco and it was a pleasant spot. It was also the only place open on thanksgiving which was kinda great. #goasianrestaurants for being open on major federal holidays in the us. I got the ube latte which was amazing and the interior was really really cute. Definitely stop by if you're in the area“
“Strong coffee with a classic atmosphere. The historic building, white and black tiling, and marble tabletops are best appreciated when the sun shines through the huge windows and makes the indoor greenery pop even brighter. It isn't the biggest cafe, but there are a fair number of two-seater tables, a window counter, and a larger circular table for groups you might be lucky enough to snag. You could spend all day here, starting off with a coffee and pastry in the morning, then lunch with pre-packaged yogurt and salads, then start your evening with a cocktail. Alternative milk options available. With free Wi-Fi and outlets, it's not hard to see why many choose here to study or work. Dispense your own water from the water station at the pickup counter. For explanations of the various drinks and unlabeled pastries, look no further than your friendly barista. I opted to get a Caffe al Pepe, an interesting twist on a latte with black pepper and honey. For those who like a hint of spice in their drinks, would definitely recommend - I could even have used a bit more pepper. My Trail Mix cookie was also a delight, being the perfect size and mixture for someone indecisive like myself. Prices are a little on the higher end (a cookie + medium specialty latte coming out to over $12 pre-tip), but worth the occasional treat and a few hours spent basking in Umbria's light.“
“Super joy gave me the best coffee experience in Portland. The exquisite latte art immediately catches the eye, signaling the quality to come. Each cup is a visual and sensory delight, with intricate designs atop a harmonious blend of robust espresso and velvety milk. The pour-over coffee made by Topher is a revelation, offering a journey through complex flavors and aromas, showcasing the clarity and depth of their expertly selected beans. The ambiance and knowledgeable staff enhance the experience, making it a haven for coffee lovers. Topher truly excels in both the art and flavor of coffee, making each visit memorable.“
“Definitely worth stopping in, especially if you’re at Powell’s. True to Portland tradition the coffee and espresso drinks are excellent. Be patient they might be a little slow in preparation. Pastries fresh made in house and a must try.“
“Local roaster and coffee shop with multiple options for single-origin coffee. I had a cup of their daily drip offering, which was a Kenyan with pleasant acidity and fruity overtones. Nutty Bars, Star Crunch, and other classic snacks available in lieu of the standard pastries. ??“
