“This is my favorite to go to. Being a diabetic I watch what I drink. Most pandas have a tea station set up but they never use it. So I decided to ask if they had black tea. The manager went ahead and started brewing fresh tea for me. I was honestly ready to drink water. This little gesture is the reason I come to this location and will continue to“

“I regularly get takeout from this counter service restaurant. If you love tofu, this place is the bomb! I have tried all their tofu dishes and they are so good! Love the black rice too and the side veggies ( cabbage/carrot/broccoli) which is lightly steamed - just right! Great value for the money as portions are generous. Staff always friendly when I come in to pick up. Highly recommend for vegetarians/tofu lovers!“

“I usually walk into Chinese restaurants expecting something average, but this spot caught me off guard—in the best way. The food was fresh, not the usual frozen-tasting stuff you find everywhere else. Every dish had quality you could actually taste. The service matched the food—friendly, quick, and attentive without being overbearing. Honestly, this place deserves all 5 stars. It’s a rare find, and I’ll definitely be back.“

“They had great food. Fried rice was delicious. Prices were a little more than i normally spend for lunch, but prices are more everywhere. Their soups were very tasty. The tea did taste different than i am a custom to having in Chinese restaurant.“

“Looks like a old run down americanized chinese food joint. Well it is. BUT their dished are amazing. Had their szechuan pepper chicken. Sweet, savory, spicy. It hit every note. Nothing is authentic Chinese about this place but who cares. If you crave old style americanized chinese food. This is a must visit.“

“Ordered the Pork Jjajang myun (best in Portland so far that I’ve tasted) and Seafood Jjambong although a bit spicy. Don’t let the restaurant name and exterior fool you. It’s authentic!“

“Great option for Chinese food. I came between rushes, so I had no wait and everything came out FAST! Not sure if it's the same at dinner time.
Hot and sour soup was just a tad heavy on the white pepper, but good. That's an accomplishment because I'm picky about my hot and sour soup. The tofu was clearly marinated and tasty (another large compliment from me).
Pork fried rice is another staple for me that a lot of Chinese restaurants fumble. It was surprisingly good! Not the best, but it had some good flavor. Either cinnamon or Chinese five spice was subtle, but noticeable.
Mongolian beef was fantastic, a bit better than most places I've tried, recently.
General tsao chicken was good. The breading was very crunchy (maybe a little too much?) but didn't go soggy and had a great sauce on it.
The tea was even good enough that I didn't add sugar, which is a literal first for me.“

“We use to go to the Hi Hat in Tigard for our Chinese food. But they closed years ago. So we have been going to the place in downtown Tigard. And they are just OK. Nothing special. So tonight we tired Kuang's Kitchen. And WOW. The BBQed pork was very moist, the String Bean Pork was flavorful with the right ratio of beans to pork. 10-ingredient fried rice had everything listed and very good. This will now be our go to place for good Chinese food.“

“We had an amazing meal here! The food was delicious and had generous portions. My fiancé ordered dinner combo #11 and mentioned that this is a time where every single item in his combo he absolutely loved. Not all restaurants can nail every single dish, but Lucky Fortune did. I ate the crab puffs which were perfectly crisp with a savory, creamy filling. The beef in the lo mein I ate was so tender that I could cut it with my chopsticks. Absolutely delicious. The egg rolls from my fiancé's combo was extra crispy and delicious, and the cabbage within was well seasoned. I mentioned how good it was to the woman working here and she said they make the crab puffs and egg rolls by hand daily. The commitment to quality, handmade food is something you can taste. We will definitely be back again.“

“Very traditional Chinese American food. The service was excellent. We got a meal for 4 to go. The portions are very generous. While we waited I had asked for some soup I was really hungry. They generously provided me a cup of soup. The inside is not fancy, but they do have a nice bar (I did not go into the bar. But seemed decent enough) I would really recommend this place. STOP and get a meal to go for the coast. You won't regret it. Oh yes, its super affordable too!“

“Wow, what a gem. A friend of mines, Mother's favorite place to have lunch! Very nice place, very clean with a calm atmosphere and nice lighting and prompt service. The food was excellent, every item was mouth watering and our server was very attentive. Hot and sour soup was the best I've ever had. I will be back and that's a "four paws up" Chinese dining yummy.“

“Figured I'd Try the Food, I was greeted promptly by a nice young man who offered drink by the time he came back I gave the order and ordered the General Tso chicken and fried rice. It was delivered promptly, piping hot and with enough portions where I as a 6 foot 1 big guy needed a to go Box. I found it a bit mild as General Tso goes and spice, but it was good. Seemed like a good family owned place to eat. I'll be back.“

“I love hot pot, and this place is awesome. We had a little trouble getting beverages that we ordered to be delivered to our table, had to ask 3 separate waitstaff. But they were absolutely packed, so I am cutting them slack here. 4 stars for service only because of this, otherwise everything else was great! The food was excellent as usual.“

“The food was so tasty! They don't have a huge selection but I think this allows them to keep most items fresh. It's difficult to find the right balance between quality and quantity at a buffet. I imagine that when they are busy they would have a hard time keeping up with demand. Best items today were the egg delight and fried fish!“

“I’ve been eating here for several years now. As far as the restaurant goes it’s pretty disgusting. The floor and the tables are like superglue. But the food is delicious and I haven’t gotten sick yet,so....“

“This was our first visit and they did not disappoint. We split a number six and it was more than enough for both of us with a side order of bbq pork. Andy and Emily behind the bar are stellar and make a mean gin and tonic.“

“Hunan Pearl is a delightful restaurant that has become our favorite spot for Chinese cuisine. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff truly makes you feel at home. The owners and team are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels valued.
The food is great! They offer a diverse menu filled with authentic dishes that are delicious.
If you're looking for a place that offers great food in a welcoming environment, I highly recommend Hunan Pearl. It's a hidden gem that's definitely worth a visit!
Better yet, they offer gluten free alternatives for most of the menu selections which is a blessing for someone with celiac like myself and nearly unheard of at Chinese restaurants.“
