“My biggest criticism is the lack of cleanliness in themed restaurants these days. You put so much effort into decor, and a yearly cleaning would not be too much of a sacrifice for decorum. Bartender was too busy to tend to the tables. Gave a good tip, but while I understand I was underwhelmed.“

“This is my husband’s favorite brewery and the staff are so friendly. There is always so many drink options that change regularly when they brew new beers. Very dog friendly (the dogs are allowed inside) and kid friendly. Big projector screen when big sporting events are on TV. Weekends there is INCREDIBLE pizza available that is to die for. Highly recommend this brewery.“

“This place is great! Came in on a Saturday while a bike swap was happening. Fun atmosphere and nice people. 🍕🍺 The beers were excellent, and the Veggie and The #4 pizzas were both delicious. We also shared the house salad, highly recommend.“

“Up and coming little nano brewery in the north side of town, no food served but Thai food truck right out front and home brew supply store next door. The location is a modern mix of industrial brewing equipment and hip tasting room decor with bar games, small patio area, etc. The staff and owners were really friendly, happily providing tastes and information about the establishment. Started with the Ginger Kid Vanilla Red Ale, a decent red, malty in flavor and medium body. Moved on to Gnome Bard Wit, which was a refreshingly nice and light beer for a hot day! Decent bite to it. Also tried the Tiny House Session, another good one, better than the previous in my opinion, more suited for a laid back beer to quench the thirst without getting too buzzed. Lastly, came the Common Cut, which I did not care for too much. All in all a great visit, being a fairly new brewery, I look forward to what they have in store next. “I stopped with my wife and a friend after the “No Kings” demonstration. The place was packed. Our order was delayed and we had to send back an order that wasn’t ours. We finally got our order after a long wait. When I complained, the manager comped one of our sandwiches and gave me a gift card for my next visit. I feel that this situation was handled very well and I look forward to returning.“

“Awesome brewery experience unlike any other in Portland. Ambiance was amazing and one of a kind giving you almost like a dark medieval type vibe with metal music playing in the background. Not to mention all the beers were amazing proving that this isn't just some gimmicky place. It definitely has the vibes and the beers to match. Staff was super helpful and nice in recommending some popular choices based on my taste and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're into good beer and into goth vibey places.“

“We had our wedding here and it was great! Kelli is absolutely fantastic to work with and her enthusiasm and passion and thoughtfulness was amazing. The food was delicious, and I would highly recommend a ceremony on Government Cove - the view and space is fantastic! Setup and the Event went smoothly. There were a couple little hiccups (water service with dinner, tip jar despite already tipping in advance), but they were minimal and overall I would highly recommend using them for your event. We had a small wedding with just a hair over 40 people and their pricing was very competitive.“

I am somewhat of a beer connoisseur, and Stickman surprises me pleasantly each time. The beer selection is very nice and varied. The Belgian blonde I tried today has been absolutely perfectly crafted.The service both times was quick, professional, and courteous. I love the comfort of the space, which on a cold March day, and near freezing temperature outside, is cozy, warm and wants you to just stay for just one more pint.Heads down the best experience I have had in many years!!! “First time here trying out the local brewery. I ordered the Maui POG hard seltzer, which is only served in a can. It tastes like POG. Plus it is gluten free, 100 cals and less than a gram of sugar per can. The food is amazing too. I ordered the #4 burger. Plus the live band playing adds an extra ambiance.“

“This is another gem in the McMenamins line of fun, historical establishments - and by far my favorite! Been here many times over the years - actually even had my very first lobster roll EVER here (as a special item years ago) and it was amazing. The vibe is so quirky - you definitely feel like you’re walking the halls of your old elementary school - except there are bars and a lively restaurant and even a brewery haha!! The staff has always been super welcoming and friendly. The food at their main Courtyard Restaurant has always been great. On my last visit (July 2023), I had their chicken salad sandwich on croissant and it was SO GOOD!! Even their tater tots were perfectly cooked. And they even have some of the best iced tea I’ve had outside of the south! Their menu changes seasonally so it’s always a treat to try something new. After eating, leave time to explore - the grounds are just gorgeous and you’ll get lost in the nostalgia as you wander around the old school’s hallways. They have several bars - one is huge and has total steampunk vibes. They have a small hotel and a salt water pool - even the bathrooms are beautiful. I’d definitely like to stay here next time - but I imagine it can be a tad spooky at night haha! The school opened back in 1915 so it’s a historic building. The wall art is gorgeous and there are lots of info signs and historical pics scattered around. It’s in a good location in north Portland with plenty of parking and easy to find. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!“

The service was good, it was quick until they got busy. Two bartenders for the whole place didn't seem like enough. They could probably use a server/runner. In the end, we sat at the bar with two empty glasses, waiting for service for about 15 minutes before we could wave someone down.

“My great nephew was playing drums in a large band to a packed house upstairs in Crystal Ballroom. A dozen or so of assorted family had come to Portland to partake and as the matinee was wrapping up in the late afternoon I said to the drummers mom, who was kind of our ring-leader, I'd go downstairs and stake out a big table for all of us to eat. Shortly after sitting at the largest table in the farthest from the bar corner of the side room, the bartender came to tell me they weren't really staffed to be serving in that room. I told him I had maybe a dozen people coming down from upstairs and we'd be an easy, forgiving crowd. He looked dubious, and said he'd need to check with the manager. He was back quickly putting out menus and arranging chairs. Our final number was ten, and our only server was this same guy who was also one of maybe two bartenders for the whole place. As he took our orders he said it would likely take up to an hour for the kitchen to produce our food, because dozens of people from upstairs had come in as well. Our drinks came quickly, and the food arrived in much less time than he suggested. Every order was correct. To my knowledge everybody liked what they ordered and the prices seemed about right. He did not seem in the slightest rattled by adding our big group to his personal workload and came back a few times to see how were all doing and take additional orders for drinks. And the drummer and the rest of us we were out of there well in time for the evening show at 8:00. I don't know if this really is an excellent place, but it sure was for us.“
