“Generally very nice. Expensive for the small servings.
The beet salad was excellent and a lovely combo of tastes and textures. The halibut entree was good but not outstanding. Too much of a generic cream sauce and not nearly as interesting as the salad. The ice cream was good.
The olives and marcona almond snacks were both unusually tasty. I was annoyed that the server whisked them away (there were some left) while I was briefly away from the table.
Dietary restrictions: It would be helpful if the menu would specify dairy free and gluten free options.
Something that has, as our server put it, ‘only a little flour’ won’t work at all for many people and highlights that she doesn’t understand the risks of gluten for some diners.“

“Went here as a early Mother’s Day treat with my daughter. Had the sample plate…. So delicious and we learned we liked it all! Also got a sundae….. totally recommend. For take home I got the cookies. This place is a gem! Stop by and check it out for sure if you are ever in the area.“

“This place is the Portland dream: an incredible farm-to-table dining experience in an unassuming, DIY-charming little storefront - which you can just walk into without a reservation, on most nights. Yes, the service can be a bit spacey and slow, if always well intentioned. But the food and wine are so incredibly lovely it’s worth a little patience. While you wait out The NY Times hype at L’orange, eat here! It hits a very similar, very high note!“

“My good friend Renee and I had an enchanted evening at Domaine Serene where we had the pleasure of trying their ambitious new menu which is now available to the public. The new menu has been crafted in collaboration with iconic, local Executive Chef George Morris, of Bos Taurus and Nomé notoriety, and features creative wine-inspired cuisine with a French bistro flair, and notable Pacific Northwest ingredients. We had been eagerly anticipating the new menu launch event, and it was a memorable and magical experience with every course. Our multi-course dinner was exceptional, and the world class wine pairings were curated with thoughtfulness. Some of our favorite dishes included: Amuse-Bouche // Shigoku Oysters on The Half Shell w/ Blood Orange ‘R’ Rosé Granita, & Yuzu Kosho. Beef Short Rib Bourguignon // Creamy Polenta, Root Vegetables, w/ a Red Wine Jus. For me, the culinary star of the show, and probably one of the best dishes I’ve ever had: The Steamed Foie Gras Wontons A rich, delectable creation framed with a Smoke-Forward Shoyu, and Aromatic; Miyagi Chili Oil, Hints of Mint From the Shiso, and the citrus notes from the lime accentuated the strengths of the dish with a delicate balance. With their exciting new menu, and added team members, now is a great time to go experience the serendipity of Domaine Serene for yourself.“

“somebody told me that this place had the best charcuterie board so obviously i had to immediately order one; (for take out because i was at work) and even though it was take out it was still presented beautifully and had such a great variety of things i haven’t seen from other places! my coworker and i immediately ate the entire thing. it was incredible, and i might make this a weekly habit. thank you syndicate!“

“Lovely little tasting room/cafe. My husband and I did not have any wine - only coffee & chai but both were amazing! I also saw some of my favorite wines hanging so we'll be back to enjoy a glass. Cookie we got was very tasty and our server was so sweet. 10/10 experience!“
“Love this spot. It’s so unique, cozy, and dark being situated in a basement/cave. Great spot for a low key night with friends or a date. The wine selection is nice, good snacks (recommend the toasted almonds), and service is solid. Friendly team. Consider making a reservation, as it is pretty small. On Resy, the “lounge” is the basement/cave portion.
We went here once before with it was Les Caves. It was very cool then, too, and I think basically the same. I’m pretty sure it’s under the same ownership, just with a new name.“

“We stopped in for a quick tasting. This place has a variety of wines to choose from and taste. The service was great and we enjoyed learning more about the particular wines, etc. The hummus snack was the right complement to the wine flights we had.
If you’re in the area and looking for a sip or to kill some time, def stop in!“

“Bar Diane is honestly a showcase of so many great elements that makeup a space that is welcoming, enjoyable, and relaxing to be present within. It starts with the decor of the bar which is just 10/10. I absolutely love the design of the walls, the lights, the wooden ceiling and secluded booths. Once you see the little alleyway Bar Diane is tucked within, you'll realize just how special the design is going to be.
Secondly, the drinks here are so delicious. We tried the espresso martini, French 75, Hazey Rose, and a Strega Daiquiri which we're all fantastic. A special shout-out to the espresso martini which has to be my favorite cocktail I've ever had. It combies my favorite coffee roasters brew (shout out to Sterling Coffee) to make a drink that is sweet and smooth and not at all bitter but while still retaining a coffee base. Amazing drink!!
The food here tops everything off with easy to eat items, with standouts being the Lobster Roll (must try) and their steak which was cooked perfectly.
Along with the really sweet and welcoming staff, Bar Diane is a must visit and a soon to be staple bar you'll be returning to. Can't recommend this place enough, go out and try it!“
“Best hidden gem of a wine bar in North Portland. Cozy, comfy space.Half glasses available and great variety. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in navigating your wine journey. Cocktails available if wines are not your thing. Small bites to complete your tasting. Take away bottles are available.Absolutely love Gilded Raccoon!“

“Probably the best pizza in Oregon. I’ve had pizza scholls and this place is just as good or better. It’s also more reliable as far as actually being open. I like pizza scholls but it’s a nightmare to try and plan any pizza or if it’s even open on that day. This a great reliable pizza place that is right up there or better. The parking is a bit terrible cause it closer to inner city and new seasons doesn’t allow outside parking. The full pizzas are smaller so two hungry can share an entire pizza or maybe one really hungry. I will be back I haven’t tried the folded pizza yet.“

“The burger was tasty but the bun wasn’t toasted so it got kinda mushy, but the buffalo cauliflower and the Parmesan fries were both AMAZING and more than made up for it. The wine selection was diverse and affordable and the atmosphere was lively without being too loud. Will definitely be coming back!“

“Honestly was the best steak house I’ve been to… I liked how the waiter explained the whole process to the table, gave great recommendations & the chef gave us a free soup sample. All the food was 5/5 stars. Best steak & pork chop hands down.“
“From the outside, you approach a rather non-descript older building somewhere between Slabtown and the Pearl. However, the moment you step through the metal-framed glass front door, you are transported somewhere else. Moreover, what you come to realize as you gaze at the eclectic collection of memorabilia throughout is that there is a story waiting to be told.
However, before you can get to the “back” story, cozy up to the bar and introduce yourself to Chris. He is the laid-back host, sommelier, front man, musician, producer, tour guide, curator, deli chef, etc… He’ll tell you about the French wines they are pouring this week. Perhaps a French Rose or Chardonnay is what you’re looking for, but for me, and always, it’s the French red. Tonight, we had a bottle of the 2016 Bordeaux, with a simple but delicious charcuterie board. Yes, Chris did the corking, decanting, and charcuterie carving!
There are so many things right about this wine bar and the vibe here that you simply must visit. It’s hip, chill, cool, old school charm, and before you take your first sip of wine, you are already in love! The signs hanging on the walls appear to be from a bygone era. Maybe they reference the building’s history? I’m quite sure Chris would be happy to answer your questions. He’s an excellent conversationalist, and is one of the main reasons this place is so unique and absolutely worth you’re your time to explore.
I won’t get into the “back” story about this place, but it’s fascinating, and if you are one of the lucky patrons, you might just get a guided tour by the above-mentioned curator, Chris.
I have attached a few pictures from our recent tour for your consideration. Cheers!“

“Jewan is a visionary, especially in the vegan food scene. If you have the privilege to catch this DAME/Plant-Based-Papi pop-up, do it! This is some of the best ramen you'll ever have, & from one of the nicest & most hard-working dudes in the business. We are cider-people, so simply having the choice between French, Italian, or Spanish ciders would've sold us, regardless of the food on offer (spoiler: it is all wonderful). Would recommend to anyone, vegan or not; this is about FOOD, & it is DELICIOUS.
Vegetarian options: 100% vegan“

“I found "Oregon Wines On Broadway" while looking for a place to try various Oregon Pinot Noir wines in one location. I loved it so much I went there twice during my visit to Portland. I was able to taste a number of great wines (7) and purchased a couple of bottles.
The place is small and intimate and Kate (the owner) is extremely knowledgeable about her wines. Some cheeses and nuts are available to enhance the experience.
Oregon Wines On Broadway is highy recommended to get a good sense of the wonderful wines in Oregon!“

“We’ve been to Feral twice, once for dinner and once for a special brunch event, and both times we had a memorable, delicious meal. It is unlike anything else in Portland with thoughtful, playful dishes. Whether it’s a fancy occasion or a dinner with friends, I highly recommend Feral. My personal favorite is the chips n dip but I’m from Minnesota so of course I love vegan dip!! Mocktails and other drink offerings are a 10/10 as well!! Updated from previous review on 2024-03-13“

“We were in Portland overnight and Gilda's was recommended to us by the hotel staff. The food was amazing. It was crazy busy and the staff were hustling, but very professional. Even when a customer at the next table was being unnecessarily difficult (his companion and the waitress and we all knew it was his error, not the waitress's) the waitress handled the situation with grace. We were so impressed with the food and the staff, we went back on our return trip through Portland a week later. Equally impressive food and service, but on a slow night, so the staff had time to happily engage with customers. Shout outs to Taylor and Gabby and Chef Marco. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and professional. Highly recommend.“

“Patrick and his staff go ABOVE and beyond in terms of giving the best service and preparing the most delicious food. You can tell every dish is made with love, with so much attention to detail down to every single ingredient. Every time we dine-in, we are never disappointed and leave full and happy. Every dish I’ve tried always exceeds my expectations. Patrick is dedicated in his work and wants every single customer to experience the best. That’s what I love about Patrick, he will go out of his way to make sure you get to experience the full potential of every single one of his dishes. He’s always trying to find ways to improve his dishes every single day (which I’m not sure how that’s possible when it’s already the best) but that’s just the type of guy he is, always wanting to do better. Thank you for always taking care of us and making sure we have the best time when we come in❤️“
