Original review: The pizza is good. My complaint is when they get something wrong when placing an order online They do nothing to correct it. I placed an order that included a salad with a few extras like chicken requested. When I got the order, it had none of the add ons I had ordered, even though I had to pay extra for the chicken. The person that answered the phone said they would either send me one or refund me. I did not feel Like I needed them to send me a whole other side salad (Even though I was very disappointed since this was my dinner) So I opted for a refund. I never actually got the refund. Beware if you have any problems, they won’t help“

“Simply phenomenal food. I have never had these flavor combinations before and was delighted by every bite. The ginger salad, mushroom noodles, and pork curry were all exceptional. My friends and I had an enjoyable afternoon eating and chatting in the bright space. Staff were very friendly. We will be back!“

“Coming back from a hike at Powell Butte, a friend and I stopped by here to enjoy a lunch. The breakfast sandwich (~$6) and the croissant sandwich (~$8) I got were both refreshing and filling, and I got to sample some of another sandwich (~$14) which definitely I would have to take half home if I had it for myself. The ambiance was very relaxing and I could see myself doing an artistic venture here. I also had a latte which did the job for me. The highlight was the cannoli which I've never had before. But the ricotta cheese and the pastry puff complemented eachother perfectly and the choice of almonds, chocolate chips, and pistachios at the ends of the cannoli made a fun pizzaz. would love to come back more frequently if I lived closer!“

“Mehri's is the best breakfast in Portland. The country breakfast is to die for with tender biscuits and sausage gravy with plenty of meat. The sweets are also memorable with apple gellate and scrumptious brownies and cakes/cookies. Such a warm neighborhood atmosphere that is always welcoming whether you a first timer or a regular. “I love Cup of Tea. I have been coming to this location for a few years now. Black Wolf is my favorite tea PU-ERH tea. This is my morning coffee. This place offers so much, events, games, education but most importantly atmosphere. It's just a fun place to chill. I really love the new packaging, website, and tea wall. It's clear and easy to follow. There are many new teas I never noticed before that I now have on my list to try. This location is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it!“

“Baker and Spice is simply the best! The fresh bread is out of this world, and I’m especially partial to the Hillsdale loaf—it’s my absolute favorite. Working in the same shopping center means I stop in way more than I should admit, but I can’t help it! The staff is always kind and friendly, which makes every visit a pleasure.

The pastries are delightful as well; they truly know how to satisfy a sweet tooth! I'm so happy they’ve extended their hours and now stay open until 5 PM. It makes it easier to swing by in the afternoon. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious baked goods!“

“We absolutely loved having our 55-person wedding at Bar Carlo. The owner Mel is at the same time very supportive and very low-key, which made for a smooth planning process and day-of event. The space is gorgeous, and has multiple connected wings, which allowed for the the party to morph seamlessly over the night from barside cocktail hour to outdoor patio ceremony to dinner buffet to dance floor. The space is already a beautifully decorated artwork, and Mel lets you decide how to arrange the space for your event, but you can also bring your own decorations/sound system/llama and she can handle those additions easily. The food and drinks were delicious too, and Mel was able to accommodate our entirely vegan and gluten-free menu without hesitation. Overall we loved the unique-ness, flexibility and good vibes of the space and the people of Bar Carlo, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cute and fun space for their wedding or other event. -Nicola & Lou“

“Sincerely, one of my top 5 favorite meals in Portland. The broth is savory and simple; the veggies are fresh and clean; the meat is perfectly thin-sliced. I typically get the vegetarian combo for two and add a meat or two, as I love mushrooms and greens. Served with doing sauces and chili oil.

Highly recommend the lamb and rib eye. The mushrooms include enoki, King oyster, shitake and white beech mushroom. Also, the house made wheat noodles are scrumptious!

Vegetarian options: Very easy to order vegetarian hot pot here! Lots of greens, mushrooms, and tofu.“

“We go here often and get a pitcher of beer and a pizza. Our favorite for the family is the "side by side". Pepperoni and Hawaiian on each half living side by side in harmony. You got the sweet living next door to the savory. Great pizza! We really love their crust. Reminds me of Megabite Pizza in Vancouver, Washington.“

“My family and I came here to eat brunch, I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger, both my kids had the Waffle and my wife ordered the Vegan Breakfast Burrito. It was our first time here and we like to try a bite of each others plate besides my wife because she's vegan but everything we ordered was presented well on the plate and very delicious. The waffles had the right amount of butter makes you think your having the waffle your grandma would make.
My burger was not very greasy and they cooked the patty just right.
The only down side which explains the 4 stars I'm giving but I know its nothing the restaurant can do but it is a small restaurant with limited seating and parking is a bit of a hassle unless you park a block or 2 away. It is located in a slightly busy area so there is some traffic and a lot of pediatricians around.“

“I ate at Verde Cocina en la Perla while at a work conferencein Portland, Oregon. The food was so delicious that I build my entire birthday around eating there! I live in Olympia, Washington. It is over an hour drive but I will keep doing it every few months. I had Arro as my bartender and server both times. He treats you like FAMILY, and this place IS family owned. I even was introduced to the creator of the Horchata French Toast dish. It is so good I cry happy tears thinking about it. Please visit for brunch and order it, you will NOT be sad about it. I don't even use syrup on the French toast, because the Horchata sauce is so so good on its own. The chillequilles are so so good with eggs OR tofu. Arro was awesome in helping us select desserts...the flan is so dang good, and it is #vegan! My wife and I are #vegetarian, but when I went with a coworker, he said that the meat dishes are "fire." I had a drink both times, first was the mango margarita. Tastes fresh and delicious! Had the perfect amount of tequila but tasted like juice...😈 I have also ordered the Paloma. I can't tell which one is my favorite!!! Anyways, do yourself a favor and order. Trust me.“
