“Consistently good food! Only ONCE in 23 years have I received a meal that wasn't something to rave about! I like spicy, had to tone it down recently cause you can't eat super spicy forever! I love spicy black bean sauce. My daughter loves pork & eggplant. Egg rolls are always good and I love hot and sour soup. Their rice is just the right sticky! Soo good! If you ever have a question just ask them, they have always accommodated me! I am moving soon and Will Definitely Miss my meals from my Favorite Restaurant!!”
“This is the top shelf, simply the best around. The factory chains got nothing on these guys , If ya'll are fortunate to be in the area, stop by they also have pretzel dogs and hot sausage dogs , and they made my last supper list.Parking: It's freeKid-friendliness: Look at that menu, of course it is.”
“The food is always good ? ?. And the waiters are the best. The waiters are professional and pleasant, and they have excellent personalities ?. I have never been to Cocco's and had a waiter that is not professional and pleasant.”
“Overall I enjoyed my experience at River Twice. Service and atmosphere were great. There were some amazing dishes (raw scallop first course and the oysters) but the rest of the food, while well-executed, did not wow me. For the price, I was expecting more.”
“Favorite speakeasy in Philly. No ability to make reservations though which is annoying. I would go more often if I knew I could make a reservation and not have a rude hostess say there’s a 2 hour wait. Go on a weekday.”
“Great food, friendly and accommodating staff. I come every time I have an out of town guest and I am never disappointed! Also appreciated how they made my mom's bday special with complementary champagne. Highly recommend!!”
“Royal Izakaya is in a class of its own. My wife and I have come for dinner a few times, but this past week we did the Omakase for the first time, and it was truly an incredible and unique experience.Jesse is front and center with just 8 people in this intimate setting, and you can tell he enjoys the interaction with the guests, as well as getting a chance to explain each offering.Every single bite that we had was a mouth watering experience.I can’t say enough good things about this place. If you get the chance to go - GO!”
“Very small intimate space with the open kitchen directly on the floor. Had an incredible experience here! The staff was super friendly and bantered with us all night. The stand out to me was the scallop toast, it practically melts in your mouth. Though everything we had was excellent flavor and presentation wise. I will absolutely be back!”
“Amazing. We walked in on a random Wednesday after work and they were able to immediately seat us. It happened to be happy hour, yay! Our server, Olivia, was so kind and had the best recommendations. She somehow knew exactly what I’d like and knew how to describe the food well enough to help us decide what we wanted and how much we wanted to order. Ambience was great and food was yummy”
“My favorite breakfast tacos in the world. Sublime flour tortillas, amazing flavor, kind staff, and a cheerful sunny space. Heaven is sitting outside of taco heart in the sunshine eating a BECA.”
“I went to Laurel this year on Valentine’s Day with my husband. We live in the area, so we like to support neighborhood establishments when we have expensive dinners. And this was an expensive one - but certainly worth the money. For my cocktail, I had the Stick Season and it was excellent. We had about 6 different courses along with dessert at the end. The Citrus Salad was surprisingly great, and the Escargot was very good also. Really, I loved all of our dishes.Service was spot on and constant without being annoying.I liked the fanciness, decor, and the vibe; they really made Valentine’s Day feel special :)FYI, you will be sharing each dish with your partner; you’re not ordering separate plates. Also FYI, menus are not constant and change seasonally (but that’s a good thing!).A gem of East Passyunk (and we have a LOT of them down here)!”
“During our trip to Philadelphia we had lunch at this wonderful restaurant. The spring rolls, red curry and massaman curry were all delicious. And the prices are very friendly. Definitely ”
“Food was really good. Drinks were amazing. Service was decent. I liked that they highlighted the fact that the 20% tip was included in the initial bill.Dietary restrictions: Lots of yummy vegan choices”
“A total Fairmount treasure! Wings are among the best I’ve eaten in Philly, and so flavorful. Glad I opted for 7 instead of a dozen, because they are gigantic; so juicy, meaty, and crispy. Perfectly salty fries with delicious aioli are also truly some of the best spuds. They’re thick af but still manage to achieve that elusive crisp exterior and fluffy interior. I’m picky about caesar salad but my caesar side was again…one of the best caesars. Yes, there’s no doubt a trend to this meal. The Dancing Gnome on draft delivered and our server was terrific. Hope to return in a week or two for one of their glorious burgers! God bless Bad Brother.”
“Every dish was incredible. Just what we were looking for. My husband had the oysters and the scallops, I had the ceviche and sea bass. All fantastic. Impeccable service. Fun to eat at the open kitchen counter and watch the cools do their thing. I'd visit again.”
“This restaurant is located on East Passyunk in South Philly. I love the ambiance and service was great. Meat and veggie platter was delicious. The platter also came with pizza dough which was surprisingly really good. I am also currently obsessed with their gnocchi, it has the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. Will definitely come back!”
“The baked goods are SO FRESH we came in at 10 am and got the ham and egg, taro bun, pork bun, danish, and Vietnamese coffee. Everything was so tasty the pork buns and taro buns are the best thing!! Id have an idea of what you want before you go in, theres a lot of options and its a bit of a tight space that gets crowded easily. Pineapple bun isn’t filled I think fyi. Bring cash if you can its just easier and probably cheaper.”
“The ambiance is reminiscent of a classic steakhouse with a modern twist. The dimly lit, intimate setting exudes warmth and charm, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a celebratory meal with friends and family. Butcher and Singer's menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a tantalizing selection of prime steaks, fresh seafood, and decadent sides. Each dish is expertly crafted with the finest ingredients, showcasing the skill and creativity of the talented chefs. The service at Butcher and Singer is top-notch, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure a memorable dining experience. From the moment we were seated until the last crumb was cleared from our plates, we felt well taken care of. Overall, our experience at Butcher and Singer was nothing short of exceptional. Every aspect of our dining experience exceeded our expectations, and we left feeling thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable dining experience in Philadelphia, Butcher and Singer is the place to be!”
“Loved the steak with eggs over easy plus the home fries with green peppers and onions. Coffee was delicious, and the bread that came with my breakfast was also wonderful. I will definitely visit again.”
“Great spot and they have an outside space as well! We enjoyed some coffee and paninis outside on an unexpected warmer day. The service was amazing! Highly recommend and plan to be ”
“We have lived a block away for the past five years and always were curious with how busy it was. We went for a large family dinner and we realized why it's always busy. The vibe is amazing. Lots of big parties celebrating birthdays. Great spot to bring the youngest and oldest. The food is great, service is fantastic. And just a really nice spot”
“Definitely the best omakase in Philly!! Quaint bar setting BYOB! Right up close great sushi masters. No special occasion just decided to have sushi with my son. Every course was outstanding! Flavors were amazing. I love seeing the reactions of the other patrons as the eat the courses! Will definitely be back many time hopefully. Well worth the drive great neighborhood ample parking. Beware of the non descript building. At $158 you will be very satisfied with every bite. The ala carte menu has some great add ins priced accordingly 20-38$. “Nice staff, great pastries, I like good ole drip coffee, but they also have seasonal flavored/themed ones that I see folks really like. They've a selection of gourmet canned goods, chocolate bars, preserves, and more.”
“I recently dined at El Mezcal Cantina and had a fantastic experience. We started with the Chilango chicken wings seasoned with Tajín, which were absolutely delicious and had just the right kick of chili powder. The variety of ceviches we tried were all delightful, but the one with passion fruit was a standout favorite among our group. The owner personally greeted us and inquired about our dining experience, which added a special touch to the evening. The service from all the waitstaff and employees was exceptional, and the bartender even went above and beyond to craft a delicious mocktail for me when I opted not to drink alcohol. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience with great food and wonderful service. Highly recommended!”
“I've got a major girl crush on Her Place Supper Club. WOW, just wow! I'm in absolute awe of the dining experience I had last night. Truly a gem. From the music soundtrack, to the amazingly attentive service and all female staff, to the intimate dining setting, to the passionate chefs who took the time to ring the bell and explain every single dish in detail, to making every single person dining in that room last night feel so welcomed and last but not least, to the thoughtfully curated dishes and empty plates left behind begging to be licked - what an epic dining experience + one that both my husband and I will never forget. So happy Presidents Day (Monday) allowed me the opportunity to make it to a dinner during the week. EVERY SINGLE dish I tried, I absolutely loved. Not one bad item on the menu, not a single one!One Recommendation:Get all of the add-on specials, there is no 'going wrong' at Her Place. Try it ALL.Showstopper Dish: Chitarra w. ClamsA big round of applause to Amanda Shulman. Truly impeccable. I'm telling everyone I know that I love her and 'Her Place'.”
“This restaurant serves pho, This place only accepts cashlike many other restaurants, using the same recipe, the broth is similar to traditional pho soup. If you are a fan of traditional pho, then this is the place for you.If you want authentic pho soup, then you should go to this restaurant, order and enjoy a bowl of pho soup. The establishment is cozy and calm, the staff is friendly, the waiters are always polite, they will come up and ask how you are doing, if you need something from the waiter, you won’t have to wait long, the toilets are clean, I recommend this place, don’t pass by and you won’t regret itVery tasty soup fo, I recommend buying a soup room, and here I do not accept credit cards. They only take cash, inside the staff is always clean, very polite. Cozy good place I recommend to everyone, come and you will not regret.I like it as this please ? soup is good here”
“Nice cocktails made with locally distilled spirits. Dive bar vibes. Friendly staff and good clientele. Bought some bottles to take home and continue sampling. :)”
“Really nice and comfortable place that has the feel of a 20's speakeasy. They have a good selection of drinks and the host is very funny and friendly. I will definitely have to come back again. Several things to note, though:1. You're not allowed to take photos.2. You're not allowed to talk on the phone in the bar area.3. This is a cash only establishment.”
“Talulas is one of my girlfriend's faves. It holds up! We had a birthday dinner there last night and everything was excellent. The biscuits were so so crispy and crumbly, and the Brussels with bacon was excellent as well. Everyone loved their mains, we had salmon, lamb bolognese, shrimp and scallops, and the roast chicken as well as the branzino. We also had 3 excellent desserts. The apple tatin was so good! Our self-described 'assistant' Angela, was outstanding. Super attentive, had great suggestions, was excellent about a dietary restriction and was thoughtful enough to bring out the kids pasta we ordered to try when the meatball app came out..well done! We'll be back”
“Stopped in for a quick slice and to my surprise , they had Buffalo chicken slices for only 4$, well worth the price. I went back and grabbed 2 more and the girl gave me free funnel cake. She was way too happy but I liked it.”
