“The food was phenomenal, we had soup dumplings, shrimp tempura roll, California Roll and a amazing spicy noodle bowl. Each was packed with flavor leaving no bite to waste. The soup dumplings were truly the only thing of mild concern only comparatively though. I have had better soup dumplings but these were still great. The service was extremely fast with us getting our food in under 5 minutes. The atmosphere was alright just certain things felt out of place.“

“We LOVE Kanlaya. Small family run business. Food is amazing and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Some of our family favorites: Crab Rangoon, Tom kha soup, Pad woon sen, pineapple fried rice, all the curry’s, and the fried banana dessert is so good. I smothered mine with duck and sweet n sour sauce for taste. And you have to ask for the sauce. Now that I know about asking I will go again. The server was on the ball asking if I needed anything. Next trip will try lunch as I had supper“

“food is decent, although there are other places in the city with high quality fish that offer more for your buck. Service is just ok; twice now we’ve had a server who seems to hate her life and is kind of annoyed at us for no reason. tables are extremely close together if you’re dining as a pair. “Finally got to try this place after wanting to go for a couple of years! Did not disappoint. Delicious food, and importantly, wonderful friendly service. Gives you that down home vibe, that you can immediately trust to be good - homemade with care. We ordered the sampler platter, a soup and fried rice and all were excellent, and again, can't say enough about how warmly we were welcomed. Really glad we stopped while in PGH!“

We had some specific questions about ingredients and dietary restrictions and they were able to answer all of them and make sure we could eat our dinner without worries. We sat outside and the atmosphere was great. The hiyashi chuka (cold noodle seasonal special) was excellent, as was the teriyaki. We will definitely be back!“
